Chapter 51: Chapter 51: Trapped and Eerie

"What’s down there? Ancient Ruins?" Zhao Jiayan exclaid in surprise.

"I don’t know." Yang Yuan shook his head. Although he had previously seen this wasteland through the cara on the Firepower Flying Disc, this was his first ti being here in person.

Due to the strong wind, they spoke loudly, otherwise, they couldn’t hear each other at all.

The Firepower Flying Disc maintained its speed, and the dangling Strong Magnetic Hook Steel Cable dragged a box rapidly forward. They sat steadily on the box, gripping the cable, swiftly gliding over the ruins below.

After traversing dozens of kiloters, Yang Yuan discovered people at the edge of the ruins, and quite a few of them.

Among those people, he recognized the Earthquake trio he had previously collaborated with.

"It seems these are the Superpower Users who were trailing behind the main force. They actually survived and apparently still haven’t joined the safe zone."

One must admit, these Superpower Users are hard to kill, each having their own thods to survive in extre environnts.

However, Yang Yuan was puzzled as to why these Superpower Users would linger here.

Because the radar on the Firepower Flying Disc hadn’t detected the main force, the previous safe zone had been abandoned, clearly indicating that the main force had retreated.

Of course, it’s also possible that the main force established a new safe zone elsewhere and employed a radar counterasure system, so the Firepower Flying Disc couldn’t detect them.

...

"Look quickly... what’s that?"

At the edge of the ruins, San Zhen Huang exclaid as he pointed at sothing quickly flying by in the distant sky.

"It looks like a disc, and it’s quite large."

Da Zhen was uncertain: "Is there soone under that disc?"

Not only did they notice it, but other Superpower Users searching for treasures in these ruins also spotted the Firepower Flying Disc.

"Look, what is that..."

"Whoa... a flying saucer?!"

So Superpower Users looked up sharply, seeing the massive ’flying saucer’ streak across the sky overhead, vanishing in an instant, unable to discern what it truly was.

...

"Strange, why are these Superpower Users staying here? Wouldn’t they follow the main force in retreat?"

Zhao Jiayan also noticed the Superpower Users below, looking puzzled.

"Maybe... the main force is nearby."

Yang Yuan wasn’t sure, but it seed the military had found a way to counter the Firepower Flying Disc’s radar scans.

As a result, he couldn’t locate the main force’s position unless the Firepower Flying Disc was upgraded.

This ruin was unexpectedly vast.

After traversing over a hundred kiloters, they finally left it behind.

"This architectural ruin is enormous, perhaps it was a big city long ago?" Zhao Jiayan murmured.

Yang Yuan was about to respond when he suddenly spotted another architectural ruin ahead.

"Why is there another architectural ruin? Were there two cities close together here?" Zhao Jiayan exclaid in surprise.

Two cities so close, less than two kiloters apart, is truly rare.

Yang Yuan did not answer, because he felt sothing was off.

He wasn’t sure if it was his imagination, but he had a nagging feeling that these ruins looked familiar.

Most bizarre of all, the architectural ruins did not appear on the terrain map of the Firepower Flying Disc’s radar.

Or rather, on these ruins, the previous seemingly nearby ruins were invisible.

In the radar view of the Firepower Flying Disc, there was only one ruin, the other seed to rely be a phantom.

Maintaining its speed, the Firepower Flying Disc carried them rapidly away.

"Hmm? Wait, haven’t we seen those Superpower Users below before?" Zhao Jiayan’s face changed.

Yang Yuan’s expression darkened as well.

...

"Ha ha, that big guy is trapped too."

San Zhen Huang laughed as he watched the huge disc fly overhead.

Da Zhen glanced at the rapidly vanishing giant disc, saying, "Let’s get out of here; those things are coming."

...

Soon after, this set of architectural ruins was also left behind.

But before they could celebrate, another set of architectural ruins appeared ahead.

Zhao Jiayan’s face changed: "Why is there another set of architectural ruins? This one looks like the two we’ve seen before..."

"Not just looks like, it’s exactly the sa! There can be many ruins, but the Superpower Users inside can’t be identical too."

Yang Yuan frowned and said, "We might have encountered so kind of ghost wall!"

The sky had completely darkened, the entire dark world always gave a chilling sensation.

"Let’s try another direction," Zhao Jiayan suggested.

"Okay."

Yang Yuan quickly maneuvered the Firepower Flying Disc to change direction.

However, the result was the sa as before; once they left the ruins and moved more than two kiloters away, they would find themselves back in the ruins again.

It was as if the space was twisted, and once they surpassed a certain distance, they’d instantly end up back where they started.

...

"Big brother, that big disc is crossing again."

Yellow Hair looked at the massive disc crossing the sky overhead again, expressing uncertainty, "Don’t you think the three people up there look a bit like Yang Yuan and his two companions?"

Soon, he froze: "Whoa... it really is them. Flying up high and low, that’s so cool."

He expressed a bit of envy: "Where did they get that kind of transportation? Shall we warn him? If he doesn’t get out soon, there’s going to be trouble."

"It’s too late for that; they’ll have to make their own luck."

Da Zhen led the way in front as the three swiftly exited the ruins’ range.

...

Yang Yuan attempted ten more tis, changing directions each ti.

But it was futile each ti; once they’d left the ruins too far, they would circle back.

Indeed, they circled back.

Yang Yuan was sure it wasn’t due to spatial teleportation, not returning to the initial position from the tenth, but reaching the tenth step only to suddenly return to the ninth.

They were clearly moving in a straight line, but upon reaching the tenth, where the eleventh step should have appeared, it reverted to the ninth step.

"We are trapped. It seems like those Superpower Users were forced to linger here, we’re unsure if the main force left or if they’re sowhere else."

Yang Yuan wore a grim expression.

"Big brother, look..." Suddenly, Jiang Yiyi, with a pale face, pointed downward.

Yang Yuan and Zhao Jiayan quickly looked down, seeing silhouettes beginning to appear within the ruin below.

The silhouettes erged from nothingness, becoming more solid and multiplying.

As the last bit of daylight vanished, darkness fully enveloped the land. The original architectural ruins disappeared, transforming into a complex of Otherworld-style structures.

The seemingly spontaneously generated ’people’ raised their heads, casting eerie looks their way.

All three felt their scalps tingle.

Those figures, though human-like, had nacing bone spurs growing from their heads, shoulders, even their elbow areas.

Moreover, they looked ferocious, clearly not human.

"What are those things? They’re not alive, are they?"

Yang Yuan realized there were no signs of those figures on the radar’s terrain map.

Interestingly, even those buildings were absent.

In the radar view, that area remained ruins, with no existence of any so-called architectural complexes.

First encountering such bizarre happenings in this world, it scared him so much that his hair stood on end.

He quickly controlled the Firepower Flying Disc to ascend, intending to leave from above.

To his dismay, when the Firepower Flying Disc reached an altitude of one thousand ters, it couldn’t rise further.

Although the Firepower Flying Disc seed to continue ascending, the distance from the ground remained around one thousand ters.

It was as though an invisible rope was tethering the Firepower Flying Disc.
