Chapter 78: Apocalypse Protocol is cancelled
Arthur remained silent for several monts after Alex finished speaking. The man simply watched him, studying the young boy carefully. Deep inside, Arthur understood sothing clearly now.
The Alex standing in front of him was no longer the sa boy they had known before the battle. The calmness in his voice, the confidence in his decisions, and the overwhelming power he now possessed had already pushed him far beyond the level of an ordinary human.
Alex had changed.
Not just in strength, but in presence.
Arthur could feel it clearly. The boy who once relied on their guidance was now soone whose judgnt carried the weight of an entire world.
Which ant one thing.
Even the plans he made should not be taken lightly.
Arthur finally spoke.
"I will arrange everything soon," he said thoughtfully. "But what should we do in the anti? Should we keep the martial artists stationed across the four continents to guard them while the base cities are being constructed?"
Alex shook his head slowly.
"There is no need for that."
His gaze shifted toward the horizon.
"I will guard the continents myself. The warriors have already fought long enough. They need ti to rest, so let them return."
Without waiting for a response, Alex turned and began walking toward the enormous unconscious body of Godzilla lying in the distance.
The creature looked like a mountain that had collapsed onto the battlefield. Even while unconscious, its massive body radiated a terrifying aura of power.
As Alex approached the creature, he spoke again.
"Rafael, do you think there could be star-level creatures on this planet as well?"
The artificial intelligence responded almost instantly.
[The probability is extrely low, but the existence of powerful planetary monsters cannot be ruled out. There may be creatures that are hundreds of tis stronger than this Godzilla.]
Alex’s eyes sparkled slightly when he heard that.
"Now that Godzilla has reached Level 9 in the planetary realm," he said with growing excitent, "if I break through three more levels, which should happen in about twenty-one days, will it evolve into a star-level creature?"
[That is correct.]
Alex could not hide his excitent anymore.
"Great."
He stared at the enormous beast with anticipation.
"By the ti I leave this planet, I might even possess strength comparable to a being in the Black Hole Realm."
His imagination was already racing ahead into the distant future.
A few seconds later, Alex appeared directly in front of the mountain-sized monster.
Looking at the battered creature, he sighed softly.
He had beaten it rather badly during their fight.
Without wasting ti, Alex activated his healing ability.
A bright golden light began to radiate from his body as streams of healing energy flowed into Godzilla’s wounds. The shattered scales slowly regenerated, broken bones reford, and the monstrous creature’s breathing gradually stabilized.
"I hope it doesn’t grow resentnt toward ," Alex said with an awkward smile.
Despite the casual tone, he knew very well that Godzilla could beco an extrely valuable ally in the future.
The healing process did not take long. Within a few minutes, the massive beast had fully recovered.
The next mont, Godzilla’s enormous body dissolved into shadows and vanished, rging directly into Alex’s shadow domain.
"Rest well," Alex said quietly.
"You will beco one of my main fighting forces in the future."
After finishing that task, Alex slowly floated upward into the sky.
When he reached a certain altitude high above the battlefield, he closed his eyes and activated his ntal domain.
An invisible wave of consciousness expanded outward from him like a massive sphere.
Within seconds, the domain spread across the entire light domain.
Every continent.
Every ocean.
Every living presence within his range.
Alex could sense everything.
The five continents were now nothing but shattered lands filled with the remnants of countless battles. Cities had collapsed, mountains had been destroyed, and entire regions had been reshaped by the war against the monsters.
But despite the devastation, life still remained.
Humanity had survived.
A faint smile appeared on Alex’s face.
Now that he had the planetary realm strength, new ideas were forming in his mind.
"I will need to create new weapons soon," he said thoughtfully. "My flying knives and sword will no longer be able to withstand my full strength if I continue growing at this pace."
His gaze shifted toward his own system interface.
A faint blue panel appeared in front of him.
[Ultimate Physique]
[Level: 20]
[Life Essence: 700000 / 1,000,000]
Alex nodded slightly.
During the final battles against the monster hordes, he had slaughtered hundreds of thousands of creatures. The imnse number of kills had granted him a massive amount of life essence.
He was now dangerously close to another breakthrough.
"It would be even better if I could leave this planet and establish contact with higher cosmic civilizations," Alex said while thinking aloud. "They must possess technology and resources far beyond what we have here. Those things could help humanity rebuild much faster."
He paused briefly before asking another question.
"Rafael, is there any way for
to leave this planet?"
The answer ca quickly.
[Not at the mont.]
Alex frowned slightly.
[You should first explore the ruins scattered across the planet. Those ancient ruins are sealed away from the influence of the planetary laws.]
[Anything capable of resisting the planetary laws must be extraordinary.]
Alex considered that information carefully.
He was actually very grateful that he had obtained Rafael. The guidance provided by the artificial intelligence was incredibly valuable. After all, he was still only fifteen years old.
Despite his power, he lacked experience.
Without Rafael’s advice, he would likely make many unnecessary mistakes.
"We will begin exploring the ruins once the base cities are completed," Alex decided.
Below him, the battlefield was gradually emptying.
The martial artists who had fought alongside him were now leaving one by one. Most of them headed toward the central continent because the other four continents had been almost completely destroyed during the war.
Those lands were now little more than wastelands.
Humanity needed a new beginning.
And that beginning would start from the central continent.
anwhile, in Aurora City, Julius and the other martial artists arrived after returning from the battlefield.
However, what awaited them there was sothing they had not expected.
Millions of people had gathered at the city entrance.
n.
Won.
Children.
All of them were standing together in silence.
The mont the martial artists appeared in the sky above the city, the entire crowd suddenly bowed.
A powerful wave of voices echoed through the streets.
"Thank you, our saviors!"
"Thank you, our heroes!"
"Thank you for protecting us!"
The deafening shout spread throughout the city like thunder.
The martial artists floating in the sky looked down at the massive crowd with gentle smiles.
Every one of them had risked their lives in the war.
Now they could finally see that their sacrifices had aning.
Julius stepped forward slightly and raised his hand to calm the crowd.
"You should begin preparing for the greatest greeting ceremony in the history of Earth," he said calmly. "We must welco the Supre Guardian properly when he enters the city."
The crowd imdiately erupted with excitent.
"Of course, Your Majesty!"
One man spoke on behalf of the crowd.
"May we ask where His Highness, Sir Alex, is currently located?"
Julius smiled faintly.
"He is guarding the borders of the continents."
The people gasped in awe.
But Julius continued speaking.
"We will also need help from all of you. You heard his conversation earlier, didn’t you? The base cities must be constructed imdiately, and we do not have much ti."
His gaze swept across the crowd.
"Anyone who is capable of contributing should join the construction teams."
The crowd shouted in unison.
"Yes, Your Majesty!"
"We will give everything we have!"
"Just command us!"
Humanity had regained its hope.
Later that day, Julius, Arthur, Elyndros, and Nolan arrived at the Alliance Hall.
The four powerful figures stood in silence for a mont before exchanging aningful glances.
It was finally ti.
The apocalypse protocol they activated needed to be stopped now as there were no need for that anymore.
Without saying a word, the four of them joined hands and ford a circular formation.
A powerful energy began to flow between them.
Their combined power resonated at a specific frequency.
Suddenly, a massive beam of energy shot toward the sky.
At the sa ti, the ground beneath the Alliance Hall began to move.
The earth shifted like a giant maze rearranging itself.
After several transformations, a hidden chamber located nearly five hundred kiloters deep underground was revealed.
Inside the chamber rested a massive capsule.
That capsule contained one hundred human beings.
But that was only one of them.
Across the continents, twelve identical capsules had been hidden in different secret locations.
Elyndros raised his hand and used telekinesis to lift the enormous capsule from the depths of the earth.
The heavy tal structure slowly floated upward before landing gently on the surface.
With a quiet chanical sound, the capsule opened.
Inside were fifty young n and fifty young won.
All of them were sleeping peacefully.
Elyndros looked carefully at their faces.
Among them were his own descendants.
Anna.
Darion.
And many others.
He sighed softly.
"Wake up, children," he whispered.
"You are fortunate to be born in the sa generation as Alex Moriarty."
His voice carried deep emotion.
"That boy is carrying the burden of the entire human race on his shoulders so that you may grow up in peace."
His eyes beca serious.
"I only hope that none of you will ever betray that man."
Without waiting any longer, the four leaders disappeared.
They still had eleven more capsules to retrieve.
Inside the opened capsule, a young girl slowly opened her eyes.
Anna groaned softly as consciousness returned to her mind.
Her vision was blurry at first, but she gradually looked around the chamber.
The other ninety-nine individuals were still asleep.
Her thoughts slowly beca clearer.
Then suddenly she rembered sothing.
Her ancestor’s voice echoed in her mind.
"Child, the future of humanity will rest on your shoulders."
"You may awaken hundreds of years in the future."
"If fate allows it, you must lead the survivors and rebuild civilization."
Anna’s heart suddenly began to race.
Her eyes widened in shock.
Hundreds of years.
That was what her ancestor had said.
Which ant...
A terrifying thought entered her mind.
Perhaps humanity had already gone extinct.
Perhaps she and the others inside these capsules were now the last remaining humans on Earth.
