Chapter 52: Tower of Wish
"The final opportunity of humanity? What is it?" Alex asked, his voice was calm but his eyes were sharp.
Arthur didn’t waste ti.
"It’s called the Tower of Wish," he said. "When you enter, it judges your potential value. Not your current strength, but your potential. Based on that, it assigns you a rank. Common. Uncommon. Rare. Legendary. Possibly even higher."
Alex listened quietly.
"After you’re ranked," Arthur continued, "you can make a wish. The tower grants sothing corresponding to your rank and your request. The President entered a while ago and received Legendary rank. He wished for his talent to evolve. It now evolved twice."
There was pride in Arthur’s voice.
"I got Rare. My talent evolved once. Those below Rare usually get so enhancents in their talent, techniques, skills. Nothing too outrageous."
He paused.
"This opportunity is opening for every human. One ti only. So co to the alliance and test yourself."
The call ended.
For a mont, Alex just stood there in silence.
A tower that judged potential. A wish that could reshape destiny.
Even for soone like him, it sounded unreal.
But the universe was vast. And strange.
He began walking toward the balcony of his training hall, thinking.
What should he wish for?
Talent evolution?
He shook his head almost imdiately.
His talent was already at the peak tier granted by the universe itself. If the Tower of Wish was part of the sa cosmic frawork, it would not be able to grant sothing beyond universal limits. A system cannot surpass its own ceiling.
So talent upgrade was pointless.
Technique?
He could acquire techniques through other ans.
Another talent?
Possible. But redundant talents often interfered with each other unless perfectly compatible and he could copy talents.
Then it clicked.
A slow smile spread across his face.
He knew exactly what he wanted.
Then instead of flying toward the alliance headquarters, Alex activated teleportation.
Space bent around him.
There were limits to his teleportation ability. Unlike natural teleportation talent users who could jump to any place they had visited within a lightyear range, Alex’s teleportation was restricted to his ntal domain.
But his ntal domain had expanded dramatically till now.
Six thousand kiloters in radius.
Almost the size of the old Earth.
That was more than enough.
The air distorted slightly and he vanished.
In the next mont, he appeared near the outer periter of the alliance hall.
The Tower of Wish was not public knowledge. Even among high ranks, it was kept confidential. Only after arriving at the alliance could one access it through Adam’s portal. The secrecy prevented dark hearted individuals from exploiting the opportunity.
As Alex walked forward, he saw a steady flow of people entering.
Saints.
Emperors.
Only the top tier were being allowed first.
Ordinary citizens would receive their chance later.
Hierarchy ruled everywhere.
A guard spotted him instantly and bowed deeply.
"Master Alex, please go inside."
Alex nodded and stepped through the entrance.
Inside, the atmosphere felt different.
He spotted Elyndros first. Then several saints and emperors from the Celestus family. Anna stood among them.
And his mother too.
His gaze softened slightly.
But then he noticed sothing else.
mbers of the Moriarty clan stood nearby, attempting to speak with Elizabeth.
Alexander Moriarty was there too.
Alex said nothing.
He simply stepped forward and appeared beside his mother.
"Hey mom, why are you guys standing here?" he asked casually.
Elizabeth turned, her face lighting up.
"So you’ve co. We were waiting for you. The Vice President said you were on your way."
"Oh. Okay. Let’s go then," Alex replied lightly.
Before they could move, a voice interrupted.
"Alex, won’t you even recognize your family anymore? Are we that bad? You carry our bloodline. At least give us so acknowledgnt."
The voice carried restrained frustration.
Alex turned slightly.
"Who is he, mom?"
Elizabeth hesitated for a mont.
"He’s your second uncle."
Alex looked into the man’s eyes.
The man was a Saint. His aura was strong. Once upon a ti, that alone would have been overwhelming.
Now it ant nothing.
"Recognition?" Alex repeated calmly. "Do you think you deserve it?"
Silence fell around them.
"If I weren’t a genius, would we even be having this conversation?" Alex continued. "When I was unconscious for two years, when my mother struggled alone, where were you?"
The Moriarty mbers shifted uncomfortably.
"You threw us out. An Emperor level family couldn’t afford to support one unconscious boy and his mother? My mother earned her own money. You just didn’t want a burden staining your pride."
No one interrupted.
"I don’t want to recognize you," Alex said plainly. "My family is the Aurelion family. If you keep pushing , I can even wish for a bloodline change. Then you won’t be able to tell anyone that Alex Moriarty belongs to your bloodline."
His voice remained steady.
"This is your ultimate reward. The right to say we share blood. Don’t expect anything more."
He turned and began walking away.
The Moriarty mbers stood frozen.
They knew it was over.
Any possibility of reconciliation had evaporated.
Alexander Moriarty let out a long sigh.
His once sharp arrogance had dulled now.
"Let’s go," he told his clan mbers quietly. "Don’t bother him anymore."
They left without another word.
Alex glanced at his mother as they walked.
"Mom, if you want to keep in touch with them, I won’t interfere. But I can’t forgive them. I’m not that kind."
Elizabeth understood what he really ant.
He would not help them personally.
But if she chose to, he would not stop her.
"That’s fine," she said gently. "You don’t need to force yourself."
Then her expression changed.
She leaned slightly closer and lowered her voice.
"Now tell
sothing. Is that girl your girlfriend?"
She nodded toward Anna.
Alex blinked.
"Oh? Why do you think that?"
"She took care of
like I was her own mother. She’s beautiful, powerful, and gentle. She’s perfect. Why didn’t you introduce her properly?"
Alex chuckled softly.
"She’s not my girlfriend, mom. Don’t assu things. It might hurt her feelings."
Unbeknownst to him, nearly every Celestus mber nearby was listening shalessly.
They were saints and emperors, yet gossip held more gravity than cultivation.
Anna’s face turned red instantly.
But when she heard his words clearly, sothing inside her tightened.
Not my girlfriend.
Of course.
He never said he liked her.
There had been no promises.
Still, disappointnt lingered.
She forced a small smile.
Darion, who had been listening with intense concentration, forgot to watch his steps and walked straight into soone.
"Darion, you idiot. Watch where you’re going," Luke snapped.
Anna’s father looked irritated.
Not because of the collision.
But because he had heard everything.
He had seen the flicker of sadness in his daughter’s eyes.
That bastard just now indirectly rejected his baby girl.
And yet Luke said nothing further.
Love was not sothing fathers could command.
It appeared without warning.
It faded without permission.
He could protect his daughter from enemies.
He could not protect her heart.
anwhile, Alex remained unaware of the subtle emotional storm behind him.
His focus shifted to the hall’s center.
At the far end stood a portal shimring with layered golden light.
Beyond it waited the Tower of Wish.
A structure capable of asuring potential itself.
His lips curved slightly.
Final opportunity for humanity?
"Let’s see what happens."
