Chapter 110: Intense Battle

The mont they moved again, the battlefield erupted into chaos.

Alex and Xylo disappeared simultaneously, and the ground where they had stood exploded a fraction of a second later. The delayed shockwave tore through the terrain, ripping apart layers of stone and sending debris flying in all directions. The air compressed violently, and the pressure alone forced nearby observers to retreat instinctively.

Their next collision occurred dozens of ters above the ground. A burst of light flashed as Alex’s fist t the descending arc of Xylo’s blade. The impact produced a ringing sound that resembled tal striking tal, despite the fact that Alex had blocked with his bare hand. The force propagated outward, distorting the air into visible ripples.

Both of them were pushed back.

Alex twisted midair and landed lightly

Xylo landed opposite him, sliding across the shattered ground before stopping with his sword angled downward.

Neither spoke. Both launched forward again.

Their movents beca increasingly difficult to follow. Each exchange created brief flashes of contact followed by expanding shockwaves. The battlefield trembled continuously, as though an earthquake had settled into a steady rhythm. Large cracks ford across the terrain, and sections of rock collapsed inward under the repeated pressure.

Despite the difference in raw strength, the fight remained balanced. Alex had 1000 planet level strength while Xylo had 500. But his sword amplified his power two tis. Xylo’s sword condensed his power, and every swing carried precise intent. He did not waste motion. His blade traced efficient arcs that cut through space with minimal resistance, allowing him to match Alex’s overwhelming physical force.

Their fists and blade collided again.

Boom.

The shockwave flattened a distant ridge, sending dust clouds rolling outward like waves. Several observers who had arrived late were forced to leap back as fragnts of rock rained down.

One by one, figures began appearing around the battlefield. These were not ordinary participants. Each arrival carried a distinct aura, and their presence altered the atmosphere. So hovered in the air. Others stood atop elevated ruins. None interfered. They watched.

"Who is fighting?" one of them asked.

"That is Xylo Grandam," another replied. "Rank ten."

"And the other?"

"Alex. The one with Valerias’s bounty. But why does he look like a dragon? Is this a transformation technique?"

Several expressions changed.

The battle intensified.

Xylo pivoted and slashed horizontally. The blade released a compressed wave that tore across the ground like a crescent storm. Alex stepped forward instead of retreating, striking the wave directly. His punch shattered the attack, but the residual force pushed him backward slightly.

Xylo imdiately followed with another strike from above. Alex blocked with his forearm. The collision produced a burst of sparks as energy scattered into the air.

They separated again.

For several seconds, neither moved. The tension between them grew thicker, and the spectators could sense the shift. Both fighters had tested each other. Now they were adjusting.

Xylo’s gaze briefly shifted toward the surroundings. He noticed how many people had gathered. Several of the top ranked geniuses were already present. So watched with interest, others with narrowed eyes.

"You are good," Xylo said calmly. "But if that is all you have, it is ti for you to die."

His aura changed.

The air above him distorted. A faint crack appeared in the sky, as though reality itself were splitting. The fracture widened gradually, and an imnse pressure descended. The spectators felt it instantly. Even those who were far away stiffened.

The sky opened like a graphical projection layered over reality.

From the widening crack, a colossal mythical sword began descending. It was not entirely physical. Portions of it appeared translucent, yet the aura it emitted was overwhelming. Ancient symbols glowed along its length, and faint echoes resonated in the air, as though countless blades were vibrating in unison.

This was the visual manifestation of activating a martial soul above primordial grade.

Alex’s eyes widened slightly. Instead of tension, fascination appeared in his expression.

"Damn," he said casually. "I want a martial soul too. They are super cool."

Several spectators stared at him in disbelief.

"Xylo is summoning his martial soul," one of them muttered. "Alex is dead."

The enormous sword descended fully. Xylo raised his hand, and the weapon shrank instantly, aligning itself with his grip. The mont he caught it, his entire aura transford.

His long hair lifted into the air, moving as though subrged in flowing water. A dense pressure radiated outward, forcing weaker observers to step back again. The ground beneath him cracked further as the energy condensed around his body.

"Now you may die," Xylo said.

Boom.

He vanished.

The speed of his movent surpassed his previous attacks. The blade traced a thin line through space, aid directly at Alex’s torso. Several spectators prepared themselves for the mont Alex would be split in half.

A red glow appeared behind him.

Xylo’s blade cut through sothing, but it dissolved instantly. The figure he struck blurred and faded.

It was an afterimage.

"Valiant effort," Alex said calmly from behind him. "Kids will clap very much for your fine showing."

Xylo turned instantly, his expression tightening. For the first ti, irritation appeared in his eyes. The attack he had just launched should have been unavoidable. Even if Alex had reacted, the speed difference should have made evasion impossible.

"Die."

He vanished again.

Alex could have used his bloodline ability to nullify the martial soul’s influence. However, he chose not to. He wanted to practice controlling his output while maintaining speed.

He moved.

The world slowed.

It was not that ti had stopped, but everything around him appeared delayed. The dust drifting in the air moved sluggishly. Xylo’s motion, though extrely fast, seed predictable. Alex realized that the wings were not making control harder. They were stabilizing his perception, allowing him to operate at full speed without losing precision.

"So that is how it works," Alex thought. "Then I do not need to waste ti with him anymore."

Xylo’s blade approached his neck.

Alex stepped forward.

To the spectators, both figures vanished. For Alex, the movent felt simple. He appeared directly in front of Xylo. Instead of striking with full force, he raised his hand and lightly tapped Xylo’s shoulder.

Then he disappeared.

For a fraction of a second, nothing happened.

Then the air exploded.

Boom.

Xylo’s body flew backward like a ragdoll. The shockwave ford after the impact tore through the ground beneath him. He traveled hundreds of ters before crashing into a distant rock formation, which shattered instantly.

The spectators stared in stunned silence.

None of them had seen the strike. One mont both figures were engaged. The next mont Alex stood calmly in the air while Xylo had already been launched away.

"What just happened?" soone whispered.

No one answered.

Dust settled slowly around the impact site. Xylo lay embedded in the fractured ground, his sword still clutched in his hand. His aura flickered weakly before stabilizing.

He had already fainted.

Despite that, none of the spectators approached. Everyone knew that Xylo’s martial soul was sentient. Even without his consciousness, it would defend him. Attempting to finish him off without preparation would be dangerous.

Alex hovered briefly, analyzing the result. The output had been within his intended range. He had avoided lethal force while still overwhelming his opponent. The test confird that he could control his power accurately.

He folded his wings slowly and left for his main target.
