The little boy in Du Xixi’s arms suddenly hugged Du Xixi’s neck tightly after she finished speaking. It wasn’t clear if her words had triggered sothing in him, but since Du Xixi was already at the side of the street paying attention to the traffic lights, she didn’t notice the boy’s unusual behavior.

The boy spoke less but was still obedient and well-behaved. When Du Xixi took him into the bustling KCC, he wasn’t afraid. Instead, he looked around curiously, as if it was his first ti there. Thus, when Du Xixi asked him what he wanted to eat, the little boy simply pursed his lips, unable to speak.

Du Xixi chuckled, patted his head, and chose a children’s al recomnded by the counter on his behalf, also picking a decent-looking al for herself. Just as she was about to pay, a little girl in the line beside them coquettishly said to her mother, "No! I want that duck! I want Kakarot!"

Her mother indulged her with a fond smile, "Okay, I’ll buy it for you. But be careful when you bring Kakarot ho, the Minions and SpongeBob might get jealous!"

"No, they won’t! We’re all good friends!"

"..."

Kakarot? Du Xixi frowned and asked the counter, "Does KCC co with toys?"

"Yes!" The lady at the counter was wearing a mask. Judging by the slight curve in her eyes, she seed to be smiling, "The corresponding al cos with a matching toy. The children’s al you just bought cos with a little Kakarot as a bonus."

"I see..." Du Xixi looked at the boy whose head was level with hers, thinking that it was rare for her to get so close to a child, and smiled, "Then may I ask, can I buy them individually? One of each small toy."

"Huh?" The counter girl was taken aback, as were those who heard Du Xixi’s words, but the little boy just stared at Du Xixi for a long while before suddenly breaking into a smile.

This was the first smile Du Xixi saw from him in the entire morning they had spent together.

Although buying one of each toy wasn’t cheap, Du Xixi in the Star Era, and even now, wasn’t soone who lacked money. What could require others to hesitate for a long ti, she paid for without batting an eye.

Several children enviously looked at the toys spread across two tables, while a few adults whispered and pointed at Du Xixi, seemingly discussing sothing, but Du Xixi remained unaffected, with a serene expression.

As long as the boy was happy playing, what did it matter to her how others saw her?

With the "comfort" of the toys, the little boy finally showed emotions that were typical for a child. He would inspect this, squeeze that, and after glancing at the steaming children’s al, he eagerly bit into the small fries.

While eating a chicken wrap, Du Xixi thought the wrap’s skin seed thick, but at the sa ti, she found the boy incredibly adorable at that mont.

Initially, Du Xixi thought she would be quite bored after being kicked out of the house by her grandfather, but now, with the boy’s company, she felt a little joy in going out. After learning there was a small amusent park next to the park, she excitedly took the boy there to play.

The boy, having grown familiar with Du Xixi, carried a small backpack bought for a few dollars from a street vendor, with a small ball in his arms, and appeared especially thrilled as they walked in the amusent park. After playing for two hours, he was even a little reluctant to leave.

"Did you have fun?" Du Xixi also had a backpack slung over her shoulder, although also bought from a street vendor, cheaply priced and brightly colored, it was full of toys she had bought for the boy and was quite heavy, yet she carried it joyfully, "Next ti, let your parents bring you to play."

Upon hearing this, the boy’s smile almost instantly fell, his small face showing a hint of sadness. Du Xixi regretted her words, which were spoken without much thought.

After waiting all morning, the boy’s family hadn’t shown up, clearly not giving him due care. Her words just poked a wound in his heart, didn’t they?

Since the boy was alone in the park, dressed in clothes that didn’t appear cheap, Du Xixi guessed he might belong to so wealthy family. Having not engaged in social activities since arriving less than a year ago, she had no idea which family’s child he was.

However, as it was getting dark, she needed to go ho, and she couldn’t bring herself to leave the boy alone. Hesitating, Du Xixi squatted down and asked, "Do you want to go ho with ? You can return when your family cos to pick you up?"
