Is this still the white, soft rice that Du Xixi rembers? Isn’t this more like pebbles!

"Hmm?" Ke Lian was preoccupied with pressing military matters and hadn’t noticed Du Xixi’s strange expression. Seeing her turn away, coughing with her hand over her mouth, he frowned and asked, "What’s wrong? Don’t like the food?"

"It’s... quite good." Du Xixi gave a couple of awkward laughs. Seeing his frown and imposing presence, she subconsciously shifted the topic, "I heard... Dad said you usually co back very late? What about tonight?"

Ke Lian is a very "hobody" person, but instead of staying at ho, he stays at the Military Departnt. According to Ke Xing, Ke Lian rarely cos ho, and as his father, Ke Xing only sees him when he cos ho to rest after leaving the battlefield.

Ke Lian smiled slightly, "I have marriage leave and can rest at ho for three days. But after three days, whether I can co back on ti is uncertain. I’ll notify you via the Light Computer then."

Ke Lian is wholeheartedly devoted to the military, and although he and Du Xixi have no emotional foundation, since he married her, Ke Lian plans to be a good husband and fulfill his responsibilities.

Du Xixi dared not et his slightly smiling eyes, shifted her gaze uncomfortably, and said softly, "I previously studied quite a few recipes at ho when I had nothing to do, so... how about I cook dinner for you tonight?"

Having been rescued by soldiers on Blue Star, Du Xixi naturally has a good impression of them. However, Ke Lian is not just any soldier, and his intimidating aura makes her sowhat fearful, so she speaks cautiously.

Seeing his newlywed wife so afraid of him, Ke Lian smiled helplessly and then said warmly, "This is also your ho, and I’m your husband. There’s no need to be so formal. Do whatever you want."

Only then did Du Xixi show a slightly relaxed smile, but it didn’t last long. As soon as Ke Lian spoke again, her smile froze.

He said, "Let’s eat first. I haven’t had breakfast, and you must be hungry too."

Du Xixi tried hard to make her smile appear less stiff, then chanically stuffed rice, picked dishes, chewed, and swallowed.

Have you ever eaten rice that feels like pebbles? Have you ever tasted mashed potatoes with a sour flavor? Have you ever eaten veggies emitting a burnt aroma?

Well, Du Xixi not only ate them today, but she also finished everything clean under a certain Marshal’s gaze.

Ke Lian: See, my wife was really hungry.

Du Xixi: Thank you very much! :)!

After lunch, Ke Lian went to the training room to exercise, and Du Xixi went into the kitchen with difficulty, relieved to find the ingredients and kitchenware quite complete.

It seems that even though the Star Era compatriots have lost their touch with recipes, their research into ingredients and kitchenware is still sufficient!

Looking at the clean kitchen, Du Xixi suddenly felt an itch to cook. Since she had nothing else to do, she took out so ingredients to make snacks! If there’s one snack Du Xixi loves the most, it has to be the ever-popular spicy sticks!

Though curious about how the Star Era reproduced bean curd sticks without any culinary traditions, Du Xixi didn’t delve into it. She placed the bean curd sticks in warm water to soak and, during the soaking process, found a blender to chop chili, Sichuan pepper, cumin, and salt, setting them aside.

The bean curd sticks didn’t need to soak long; just a few minutes while chopping the seasoning was enough. The soaked bean curd was much softer than dried, but still had a fine texture. Du Xixi squeezed it and nodded in satisfaction.

The bean curd needs to be pan-fried on both sides. Carefully, Du Xixi dried the water off the surface with absorbent paper, turned on a highly intelligent electric pot, added so oil, and when the oil was hot, used chopsticks to place the bean curd sticks one by one into the pan. Once they were golden on both sides, she took them out and set them aside.

In the clean pot, Du Xixi added more oil, waited for it to get hot, and then turned off the heat before adding the previously crushed seasonings, slowly stirring them. The spicy aroma quickly wafted through the kitchen and into the training room where the certain Marshal was.

Ke Lian sniffed the air, got off the gravity machine, took a clean towel to wipe his sweat, and, breathing slightly heavily, moved towards the source of the aroma.

Following the alluring sll to the kitchen door, he saw his newlywed wife pouring long, light-yellow strips into a pan and then vigorously stir-frying them with a spatula.

Hmm, the sll was coming from that pan.

Ke Lian had never been so curious in his life. Almost unable to restrain himself, he knocked on the door, then, noticing the girl’s surprised look, pushed the door open and walked over.

"What are you doing here?" Du Xixi was a bit surprised but assud Ke Lian had finished his training. She hurriedly served up the bean curd spicy sticks covered in chili oil and handed them to Ke Lian, "Try them! They’re delicious!"

The allure of spicy sticks isn’t sothing ordinary people can resist. Du Xixi’s fondness for them above all other snacks was no baseless claim.

"What is this?" As a Marshal, Ke Lian’s diet at the Military Departnt is ticulously checked to prevent anyone with ill intentions from poisoning him. But here at ho, he found himself trusting the person in front of him without reason. He took a pair of chopsticks, picked up a stick, and put it in his mouth.

The numbing, spicy, and salty sensation filled his entire mouth and nose. Ke Lian, rarely showing his emotions, looked at the spicy sticks on the chopsticks and the plate in amazent, curiously asking, "This taste is incredible!"

"Hehe, it’s called a spicy stick! I love it." Du Xixi raised an eyebrow, "Du Xixi brand spicy sticks, you deserve it!"
