Upon hearing what Sebastian just said, the Callum family’s irritation was palpable. The air in the room grew thick with tension, their gazes snapping toward Raymond, expecting him to seize the opportunity and demand an outrageous amount.
Not wanting to allow that to happen Maria’s scoff cut through the silence first.
"This is a huge mistake, Sebastian," she snapped, her arms crossing tightly over her chest.
"You’re giving this greedy bastard the chance to na his price? Do you think he’ll be reasonable? Do you think he’ll just walk away with a smile and a handshake?"
Her disgusted glare was fixed on Raymond.
"He’s a nobody," she continued, her voice laced with venom.
"A gold-digger who got lucky in the first place. And now, you’ve just handed him a blank check. Watch how he takes advantage of it."
However Sebastian remained calm, but Maria’s agitation only grew.
"Well, don’t worry," she said, turning to the rest of the family for support.
"Since he refuses to accept our generosity, then we’ll handle this how we see fit. We’ll deal with him our way."
Then Her eyes flicked toward Valentina.
"And if Valentina wants to keep protecting him, then she’s only proving what we already know—she’s still bitter over what happened to her."
At that mont the atmosphere in the room turned heavier, charged with undercurrents of hostility. Everyone waited—for Raymond’s reaction, for Valentina’s response.
But Raymond didn’t move.
His expression remained unreadable, his posture steady, his eyes locked onto Sebastian’s, unflinching.
Then Valentina’s father leaned forward, his face twisted in disdain.
"She’s right," he said, his voice laced with more irritation.
"Sebastian, you shouldn’t have made that offer. n like him—greedy bastards like this—will always take advantage. Give them an inch, and they’ll demand the entire world."
His gaze darkened as it landed on Raymond.
"He’s probably sitting there right now, calculating the highest price he can get. Thinking he has so sort of power here just because we want him gone."
Imdiately all of the family nodded in agreent, their murmurs of approval filling the air. Chloe scoffed loudly, folding her arms across her chest.
"This is exactly what he wanted," she sneered.
"He’s dragging this out just to squeeze every penny he can before he leaves Valentina’s life for good. And now, what? He’s playing innocent?"
Her mocking laughter rang through the room.
"He should just na his price already," she added.
"Since that’s all he’s ever been after."
Their words cut through the air like daggers, their resentnt boiling over.
But Sebastian lifted a hand, signaling for them to stop.
" It’s alright everyone," he said, his tone sharp but composed.
"I understand your frustrations, but let’s not get carried away."
At that mont his eyes flicked back to Raymond, his expression unreadable.
"I made the offer for a reason. Regardless of what Raymond wants, we can’t allow him to keep holding Valentina down just because he once ca to her rescue. She deserves better. She deserves a future without a man like him clinging to her."
The room fell silent, all eyes now on Raymond.
Then Sebastian adjusted his cufflinks, his expression calm yet unwavering.
"Relax," he said, his voice laced with amusent. "I know how much you all want him gone. But trust , I’ve got this."
Maria’s face twisted in frustration. "Sebastian, this isn’t a joke. We’re not going to sit here and let this lowlife take advantage of the situation."
Sebastian chuckled, leaning back in his chair with an air of confidence. "Mrs.Callum," he drawled, shaking his head.
"You’re getting all worked up for nothing." He clasped his hands together, glancing at each mber of the Callum family. "Let handle this. That’s why I’m here, isn’t it?"
His words had a strange effect—as much as they wanted to argue, the Callum family exchanged glances, uncertain.
Then Chloe pursed her lips.
"And you think you can just... fix this?"
Sebastian smirked. "Of course. I always do."
His confidence was infuriating but reassuring at the sa ti. Seeing how determined he was, the Callum family huffed in frustration but ultimately stepped back, allowing him to do his thing.
All eyes now turned to Raymond, the weight of his demand hanging in the air.
Sebastian leaned forward, his eyes gleaming with a smug confidence. "So, Raymond, let’s not waste any more ti. Just na your price, and we can all move on with our lives."
At that mont Raymond let out a slow chuckle, shaking his head in disbelief. He lifted his gaze, eting Sebastian’s expectant stare before sweeping his eyes across the room, watching the Callum family shift in their seats, eager for his answer.
Then, his lips curled into a smirk, his voice dripping with mockery. "Sebastian, do you know the problem with you and your kind?" He tilted his head, pretending to be deep in thought.
"You talk like you actually matter. Like your little S Corporation and your daddy’s money an sothing in the grand sche of things."
Hearing what Raymond just said.
Sebastian’s jaw clenched, his confidence wavering slightly.
Then Raymond leaned forward, his elbows resting lazily on his knees. "Let make this easy for you, yeah? You want to walk away from my wife? You want to vanish into thin air so you can play house with her?" He let out a humorless laugh.
"Fine. Just bring ... say, ten billion dollars."
Imdiately the room fell into a stunned silence.
Sebastian’s expression froze, and Maria’s face twisted in outrage. Bernard looked like he had just swallowed his own tongue.
Raymond stretched his arms, feigning exhaustion.
"Yeah, ten billion dollars. would make consider not slapping the hell out of your face right now." His tone was casual, but his eyes held a dangerous edge.
Imdiately Sebastian frowned, his brows knitting together.
"You’re insane."
Raymond grinned, but it didn’t reach his eyes.
"Oh, you think so? Then let warn you. Next ti you open your mouth to spew that nonsense in my presence, I won’t be so generous." At that mont his gaze darkened, his voice dropping low.
"Next ti, I’ll make sure you learn your place—with a slap that will knock that arrogance right out of you."
Imdiately Sebastian stiffened, his hands balling into fists, but he didn’t say a word. The Callum family, for once, had nothing to say either. The sheer audacity of Raymond’s words left them speechless.
