“What did she say?”
The caretaker shook her head, “I don’t know, Aunt Lu told to leave.”

Once the caretaker had left, Lu Weixi walked to the door herself. She didn’t push the door open right away but stood by it, waiting.

Lu’s mother responded calmly, “I was actually hoping to discuss their situation with you too.”
“Wei Hui and Zhiyou have been married for five years,” Yang Mogui didn’t pay any attention to Lu’s mother’s remark, and instead imdiately voiced her own thoughts, “To be honest, when they first wanted to get married, I was a bit opposed to it. Aside from anything else, she had been in a relationship with Qin Zhigu for four years and ended up being the one dumped. Who knows if she’s with Zhiyou for revenge or so other reason. And then there’s the condition of your household. But the two kids were adamant about marrying, they were both adults, and as a mother, how could I possibly object against them?”
Lu’s mother nodded, “I agree with you on that point.”
What she ant by agreent was that she too had been firmly opposed to their union from the beginning. It’s just that Yang Mogui had looked down on it, while Lu’s mother didn’t want her daughter to suffer.

Without regard for whether she agreed, Yang Mogui continued with her topic, “I think I’ve been a decent mother-in-law. They can live however they want, as long as they don’t cross any boundaries. But now, after five years of marriage, isn’t continuing like this a bit too much?”
