Qin Zhiyou knew about the affair between Yu Sixing and Xue Feifei, but he kept it from his wife. Xue Feifei probably felt ashad as well, so she didn’t want her close friends to be aware. If Lu Weixi found out that Yu Sixing used his power and influence to coerce Xue Feifei into being with him, she would likely grab a cleaver and head to the Yu Family to settle the score.
“She’s probably scared of those interviews from before. I heard that Qin Zhizha even invited the dia reporters over, putting on quite a spectacle. If Xue Feifei were there, I reckon so reporter would twist the story, and she’s not soone who looks for trouble.”
Although Lu Weixi found it a bit strange, she didn’t think of it in that way. Besides, Qin Zhiyou very quickly diverted her attention, “How co you’ve gotten darker, and uglier too?”
Getting darker was a fact, but ugly? What the hell? She had a healthy wheatish complexion, okay? And she was out working every day, running around, even she felt a lot healthier.
“If I’m that ugly, then I’m not going. It’s not like anything else but Cai Yiren would mock anyway.”
“No, my wife is the most beautiful.” Qin Zhiyou, smilingly enduring a few hits from her without getting mad, thought to himself that he had finally steered away from the matter concerning Xue Feifei.
The two packed their bags and headed straight for the airport. On the way, Qin Zhiyou was busy on the phone with work, and she was occupied with asking for leave and handing over her duties. They worked without disturbing each other. But as soon as they were on the plane, Qin Zhiyou imdiately asked a flight attendant for two cups of water, making a special note, “Give her the hot one.”
Lu Weixi didn’t say much, but once the plane took off and he squinted his eyes in fatigue, she softly asked a flight attendant for a thin blanket and covered him with it. Qin Zhiyou opened his eyes, watched her covering him with the blanket, and the corners of his mouth curled up slightly. Since they were on a plane, he couldn’t say much, just stretched out his hand, holding hers, and pinched her palm gently with his fingertips.
By the ti the two arrived in Yan City, it was already deep into the night, but the Qin Family’s mansion was still brightly lit. All Qin Zhizha did was laugh, “I take my engagent very seriously, not like big brother who could change his mind after an engagent.” He was deliberately taunting him about his past with Fang Rushuang.
Qin Zhiyou’s expression remained unchanged, and as he headed upstairs, he said, “Well, that’s good. I wish you and your bride-to-be a love stronger than gold.”
Upon reaching the upstairs, Qin Zhiyou grabbed a servant at random and asked, “Has Zhisu co back yet?”
The servant shook their head, “Not yet. Second Young Master might only return tomorrow.”
Qin Zhiyou and Lu Weixi exchanged glances, sharing a knowing smile within their eyes.
It seed that when it ca to dealing with a botherso younger brother, the two brothers were finally on the sa side.
After the weariness of their travels, the couple was tired and didn’t take long to rest. The next morning when they woke up, Qin Zhiyou had already left the room, but he had prepared the clothes for attending the banquet.
Before long, Xue Feifei arrived as promised, and the two close friends hadn’t seen each other for a while, so Lu Weixi quickly asked her to stay. As the servant brought tea and snacks and was about to leave, Lu Weixi asked, “Where’s Zhiyou?”
The servant replied, “The eldest young master and the third young master of the Yu Family will be back later.”
