At six o’clock in the morning, a nurse ca over to their room to check on him and hook him up to the IV once again.
Qin Zhiyou was almost completely recovered today. After all, he wasn’t seriously ill, just so surface wounds on his back. A bit of ointnt, antiseptic, and a tetanus shot was all it took. Even though his body was still bearing injuries today, none of it was grave—just a few anti-inflammatory dicines would speed up his recovery. His IV was administered for this very purpose.
As for the wound on his head, although it wasn’t serious, an x-ray taken the previous night revealed a shadow at the back of his head, indicative of a blood clot. He would have to go through further tests today. By eight o’clock in the morning, Qin Zhiyou had already contacted the hospital managent, making it clear he wanted to get his tests done early to avoid conflicts with other patients waiting in line.
With Qin Zhiyou’s influence, it really wasn’t challenging to get an early slot. If it weren’t for his refusal, the hospital director might have co in person to provide his care.

It didn’t make much difference in the end. At least the person who treated him yesterday was a departntal head in surgery, and the nurse who handled his dication wasn’t just so intern, but a nurse manager with many years of experience. Even if they couldn’t secure a private room, a two-person room had been arranged for him.
Although Qin Zhiyou had high demands, he was also understanding and didn’t nitpick in this situation. Especially since the hospital hadn’t leaked any information about his treatnt since his admission, he was indeed quite pleased.
When the nurse knocked on the door and entered, Lu Weixi was still sleeping in his arms.
The hospital bed was actually quite narrow, and since he was injured on his back, he had to sleep on his stomach most of the ti. Fortunately, Lu Weixi didn’t tend to move too much during her sleep and never encroached on his side. Nevertheless, he had to shrink himself to his corner, without moving at all.
He was rather particular about his sleeping space—felt a bit tight, with injuries all over. Moreover, due to years of work, sleeping for eight hours or more was ideal, but he managed just fine with less.
They hadn’t drawn the curtains the night before for the sake of fresh air, so as the sky got bright at around five in the morning, he was already awake.
However, upon waking up, he didn’t get out of bed. He didn’t even dare move a muscle—he knew Lu Weixi was a light sleeper; even the slightest disturbance might wake her.
Luckily, Lu Weixi was sleeping face-to-face with him. He just lay there by the head of the bed, quietly staring at her peaceful sleeping face. As he watched, his eyes softened.
The hospital bed was against a wall. Out of worry that he might fall off, Lu Weixi slept on the outside—if it was any regular day, Qin Zhiyou would never have agreed to that. He always slept on the exterior side and walked on the outside of the pavent, it was man’s instinct to protect a woman.
However, he was the patient in this case. Lu Weixi threatened him with, “If you sleep on the outside, I’ll go rest on the other bed.” So, Qin Zhiyou had to give in.
At that mont, she was lying next to him, one of her hands resting on his arm. With each breath she took, her slightly ssy hair looked even more exquisite and elegant. He didn’t dare to move, feeling slight numbness over his body. It took him ages to move a little bit. Even the slightest move could not only alert the person in front of him but also cause the iron-frad bed to creak incessantly.
Those unaware might even think they were up to so mischief inside.
