The problem was, her current ranking was not high enough to have her own makeup artist and stylist. It was not a good idea to use Yu Sixing to boost her image, nor was it appropriate to approach the director with this issue — he did appreciate her, but he wouldn’t involve himself in their minor disputes.
Moreover, the shooting was starting soon.
Just as Xue Feifei was at a loss, Huang Mi passed by. “Miss Xue.”
Xue Feifei always arrived earliest and left latest on set. She hardly missed any night scenes. Feifei seed to have arrived even earlier than Huang Mi, who himself felt he had arrived quite early.
“Mr. Huang.”
Huang Mi looked around her: “Haven’t you put on makeup yet?”
Xue Feifei responded with a smile. “It seems the makeup artist is a bit busy.”
“Busy? We’re the earliest here and have been waiting for almost an hour.” Xue Feifei did not respond, but her assistant couldn’t help but speak up.
Huang Mi imdiately understood what her assistant ant but only laughed without responding. However, he did notice the script she was holding with the edges curled up. “May I have a look?”
“Of course, Mr. Huang.” Xue Feifei hurriedly handed over her script. Huang Mi flipped through it and saw that Xue Feifei had indeed prepared thoroughly: she annotated every little detail. Take today’s scene, the script only provided a few dialogues and a slight scene prompt. Details of actions and tones had to be improvised by the actors.
“But Mr. Huang, there is sothing I’m not clear about. I haven’t fild a movie before. Would you mind explaining a bit?”
“You’re starting your rehearsal now, aren’t you?” Huang Mi laughed. It was the first ti he had ever seen soone rehearsing before eting the director. But Huang Mi was very professional. The two of them conversed outside the door, and it was clear that Xue Feifei had done her howork, making communicating with her very smooth.
Huang Mi was also passionate about film. This film was his chance at an award, so he naturally paid attention to every detail. The most important part involves the emotions between him and the two lead actresses. For the first lead, the task was simple—show the affection between the two. The second lead, however, was a more complex combination of attraction and rejection. One wrong move and the scene would be ruined.
Xue Feifei, despite being a graduate of an architectural engineering background, had a clear logical way of thinking, which helped make their exchange crisp and direct.
Them talking was one thing and doing it at the doorway of the makeup room was another. As the staff ca out one by one after getting their makeup done, and saw Huang Mi communicating with her at the entrance, rumors began to circulate. The director also saw them discussing the play and joined the conversation.
Well, now, the two most prestigious people in the crew were present, and it was striking to see Xue Feifei without makeup.
While other entertainers may have had the audacity to stand there without makeup, the makeup artist wouldn’t dare delay further. As soon as they finished talking, they swooped in to start on her makeup. Xue Feifei, not one to mince her words, said, “Next ti, please co earlier. I have been waiting for over an hour.”
The director glanced at the makeup artist, “Co earlier next ti.”
And so, a crisis was averted. Whoever tried to ss with Xue Feifei next would have to think twice. However, from then on, rumors circulated that Huang Mi had special feelings for her. At least when Yu Sixing finally arrived on set, he heard whispers about these rumors….
