Those standing nearby looked hesitant, especially Qin Weijia. The Liu Yiyi she had arranged had not done much yet and was pulled aside because of the short video. The money and effort she had put into this for all this ti were now wasted. Her daughter had hoped to get along with Yu Sixing, and they had already gotten through to the Yu family, but Yu Sixing barely acknowledged her daughter’s friendly gestures. Then when Lu Weixi’s mother fell ill because of Bai Changyou’s anger, that enraged Qin Zhiyou, and he terminated all cooperation with the Bai family.
However, he only stepped up when problems were dumped on him, indicating that he wouldn’t divorce Lu Weixi at most.
But him declaring love, or sothing close to that, that was a first.
It was normal for Qin Zhiyou to like soone, and it was normal for him to like Lu Weixi. But what was strange was that he said he would never have another woman, and he would never seek anyone else.
Was he turning over a new leaf?
“Is it true?”
“Have I ever lied?” Qin Zhiyou shot back, leaving Qin Weijia dumbstruck. In his five years at Hanhai, he’d been a man of his word. The decisions he made and promises he kept were always sincere, without any room for doubt.
She glanced at her brother, Qin Weijian, who also frowned but then he looked at his son. Qin Zhigu’s expression was complicated. On the one hand, he truly hoped Lu Weixi could be happy, but on the other hand, seeing her happy with another man made him feel sowhat uncomfortable.
No matter what, Qin Zhiyou was married, Qin Zhizha had a fiancée, but their foolish son didn’t even have a girlfriend. Thinking about this, Qin Weijian and Kong Jie’s blood pressure was slightly elevated.
Lu Weixi, however, the person involved, kept her head down without uttering a word.
Probably the only one who was sincerely pleased was Old Master Qin. He had lectured his eldest grandson severely last ti, and noticed him sticking with his wife recently and now speaking these words.
Despite not knowing if it was true or how patient he could be, he was very pleased with this awareness.
As for Qin Zhizha, that young rascal, he could only shake his head, paying no more attention to him.
Soon after sitting down, the gathering dispersed. As they headed upstairs, Lu Weixi still kept her head down, remaining silent.
Qin Zhiyou wanted to follow her, but then his cell phone rang. He looked down to see a ssage from Secretary Wang, probably about Liu Yiyi.
He glanced at Lu Weixi out of the corner of his eye, thankful she didn’t notice. He first went to his study to handle the issue. When he returned to the bedroom, Lu Weixi had already turned off the lights to sleep.
