Chapter 517: Chapter 519 Disturbance (1)
Qin Zhiyou heard it from inside but pretended not to and continued to gnaw at his prey.
But Lu Weixi, being an earnest child, quickly nudged him. “Zhiyou, go open the door.”
Who could it be knocking at this hour? It must be nothing good. Qin Zhiyou didn’t feel like it. He mumbled, “It’s fine, we’ll deal with it tomorrow.”
Yet, the knocking persisted. Lu Weixi couldn’t ignore it any longer. She quickly pushed him aside, “You go, hurry, be quick and co back.”
Qin Zhiyou took a deep breath, furrowed his brows, reluctantly agreed with a pained expression, rolled out of bed, and, without even putting on his slippers, rushed over to yank open the door–
Standing there was Aunt Hao, holding two bowls of dark herbal dicine. “Young Master, this is for you and Young Madam. The one on the left is yours, the one on the right is for Young Madam.”
They were tonics, specifically for fertility and prenatal health.
Lu Weixi had been taking this dicine for several months. A few days ago, when they went to the traditional Chinese dicine hospital for resupplies, even she didn’t know that Qin Zhiyou had quietly told the doctor to add an ingredient to promote egg release. He was hoping she’d get pregnant soon.
He was about to lose his temper, but upon seeing Aunt Hao and the two bowls of dicine at the door…
Well, speeding up pregnancy was indeed sothing he couldn’t afford to neglect.
So, he snatched his bowl like a whirlwind, gulped it down in one go, swiftly shoved the empty bowl back into Aunt Hao’s arms, turned to pick up the other bowl, managed to close the door simultaneously, “We’ll take this one tomorrow morning.”
No sooner had he finished what he was saying than the door shut with a thud.
After shutting the door, he didn’t forget to bolt it, to see who else would dare knock! Qin Zhiyou carried Lu Weixi’s bowl of dicine, rushed back briskly, held it to her lips, “Down the hatch.”
Lu Weixi replied with a quiet “Hmm”, taking little sips. Herbal dicine is that type of thing – the slower you drink it, the more unbearable it becos. Lu Weixi’s small face instantly scrunched up, “So bitter. Do you have any sugar?”
There should’ve been so. Aunt Hao’s tray had a piece of sugar on it, but because he had shut the door too quickly, he only got the dicine and missed the sugar.
Qin Zhiyou glanced around the room before nodding, “Drink it first, I’ll get it for you.”
Lu Weixi nodded. Thankfully, they had so leftover chocolate in the room. Although the chocolate was a bit bitter, compared to the herbal dicine’s bitterness, it was nothing.
Qin Zhiyou fetched a piece of chocolate and unwrapped it. Just as Lu Weixi finished her dicine, she put the bowl on the bedside table, her eyebrows furrowed from the bitter taste. As soon as she saw Qin Zhiyou unwrap the chocolate, she imdiately reached out for it.
Qin Zhiyou pulled out a small piece of chocolate, and just when it seed he was about to place it in Wei Xi’s hand, he deftly moved his hand,– and tossed it into his own mouth instead.
“Qin Zhiyou, why did you steal my candy!” Lu Weixi was upset. Just as she was complaining, Qin Zhiyou abruptly leaned closer, using the chocolate like a battering-ram, instantly breaking through her red lips.
“Umm–” The sweetness of the chocolate, mixed with a hint of bitterness, instantly overpowered the strong taste of the herbs. And since chocolate lted with heat, it quickly slid down her throat, leaving her with the sweet, silky taste of chocolate.
When Lu Weixi tried to get up and turn off the light, she found herself held back by Qin Zhiyou’s arm.
