Chapter 392: Chapter 393: Finding Fault (1)
After Lu Weixi returned ho from the banquet, she ignored Qin Zhiyou for two days.
She had ntioned before, that she didn’t want to interfere with his external affairs. However, there was one rule; nobody should bring trouble to her doorstep. Today, Liu Yiyi treated her as a mistress. Even if Liu Yiyi finds out that she is Mrs. Qin, will it be sothing to be proud of? Upon returning ho to the Qin mansion, she had to be careful not to beco a laughingstock to the mbers of the other households, especially Qin Zhigu’s ludicrous face. Yet, after entering her bedroom, she didn’t have to maintain her pretense anymore.
With her temperant, she couldn’t say anything bad but just as she entered the bedroom before Qin Zhiyou, she slamd the door shut. Qin Zhiyou, unprepared, narrowly avoided a collision with the door.
Qin Zhiyou, aware that he has upset his wife, touched his nose but didn’t say a word. Any explanation at this point would only add fuel to the fire. So, with one hand on his nose, and the other in his pocket, he turned and walked into his study.
He worked until 1 in the morning, then quietly went2 to their room, presuming Lu Weixi would already be asleep.
As he entered their room, he was contemplating the possibility that Lu Weixi had, in her fury, locked the door from the inside. He had brought the key just in case. To his surprise, when he twisted the doorknob, the door wasn’t bolted.
He silently entered the room. It was dark and quiet. Lu Weixi seed to be asleep, propped up against the window. He softly crept in and saw her lying on her side facing the door; she seed to be asleep.
Thankfully he had already freshened up, so he wouldn’t disturb her. Tiptoeing towards his side of the bed, he quietly slid 3under the quilt. At his slightest movent, Lu Weixi awoke. Or perhaps, she never fell asleep at all.
However, even though she woke up, she didn’t move and pretended to be asleep.
Qin Zhiyou also realized she was awake, but he didn’t disturb her as he usually would.
They both understood that the mont Qin Zhiyou chose to live a lascivious lifestyle, a situation like this was bound to occur. Was she supposed to be grateful that there were only three involved? Among his known mistresses, there were many more, not eighty, but definitely eighteen at the least. A big table for mahjong would hardly be enough if they all gathered.
Qin Zhiyou didn’t know what to say or how to explain it. His reputation has been like this since his teenager years, how could she believe his innocence now? And considering the current critical power struggle between their aunt and uncle and the value that Liu Yiyi holds—If he had stood by Lu Weixi today and ignored Liu Yiyi, who knows if Liu Yiyi might show up at their doorstep tomorrow?
He had concealed for so many years, from the ti his father died twenty years ago to the present mont. His very existence was for the purpose of regaining their family business. He couldn’t afford to give up at this critical juncture.
Besides, he has long held suspicion about the cause of his father’s death and wasn’t convinced it was an accident.
With these thoughts, he sighed first. A wife needs to be pacified, a mistress needs to be dumped, but certain things… he couldn’t speak up even if he wanted to, or rather, he shouldn’t.
But when Qin Zhiyou fell asleep, Lu Weixi’s heart started to flutter again.
He didn’t speak, so it was seen as an unspoken consent, wasn’t it? There must be no need for explanations; there’s nothing much left to explain anyway..
