Chapter 385: Chapter 386: Past Tense (2)

Qin Zhii went on to explain: “Miss Xiang, Miss Liu, you might not know. Miss Fang Rushuang was the only one my brother was once engaged to and treasured a lot, the precious daughter of the renowned lawyer, Mr. Fang.”

Fang Rushuang looked indifferent, “That’s all old news now.”

However, as she said those words, she didn’t glance at Lu Weixi or deny anything. Her conviction was strong.

They were exchanging barbs around her and although none hit Lu Weixi, she was acutely aware that they were all directed at her.

On one hand, she was relieved that Qin Zhii overlooked her and didn’t reveal her identity. But on the other hand, she was irritated and humiliated. She knew Qin Zhii was doing it deliberately, but she couldn’t help but get upset by this childish provocation.

She felt a mixture of irritation and resentnt. It was bad enough that Qin Zhiyou went around dating other won, but what made it worse was the fact that they were all from the entertainnt industry. This ant she would always see these won, vibrant and beautiful, in the news, movies, TV shows, and advertisents, even at events. They were constant reminders of her failure as Mrs. Qin.

She was thankful, at least, that she was wearing a mask and her expression couldn’t be seen. Even though no one had ntioned her, the gazes of the Qin, Bai and Fang Families still landed on her. Even Liu Yiyi and Xiang Yirou were looking at her—Qin Zhiyou’s current favourite.

In their eyes, Qin Zhii’s words were a provocation, implying that they were re mistresses, slightly embarrassing and part of Qin Zhiyou’s past. The apple of Qin Zhiyou’s eye was right in front of them, the woman in the red dress with the mask.

But no matter how cherished she was, it was just a passing fascination. Look at Fang Rushuang, and then think about Miss Bai. Without a powerful family background, you could only be a plaything, incapable of marrying into the Qin Family no matter how vibrant and appealing you are.

This was the first ti Qin Zhiyou was put in such an awkward situation by Qin Zhii. No matter what she provoked, he used to have counterargunts. But now, what could he rebut with? Say he had no intimate relationship with these two? Say he had never liked Fang Rushuang? Would they believe him if he did?

The crucial point was, would Lu Weixi believe him?

He could imagine that she absolutely wouldn’t believe him. Not only would she not believe him, but she would probably say, “I don’t care about your affairs outside, just be clean and don’t bring any diseases ho.”

“It is indeed the ‘past’.” He decided not to say anything since every word could be a mistake. Instead, he held Lu Weixi’s hand even tighter and moved a little closer to her.

The body language clearly indicated that among the four won present, Lu Weixi was the one he cherished the most. After all, regardless of his once heavily loved fiancee or his past and present cherished companions, when it cos to the front stage, a man still needed to preserve his wife’s dignity.

The key to her victory over these won was not affection or family matters, but only their marriage contract.

“Are you finished? Can we go inside now?” Suddenly, the always silent Lu Weixi spoke up. As soon as she said this, all the gazes at the scene naturally gathered on her. Qin Zhiyou beside her nodded, “You can continue catching up, we’ll take our leave.”

With that, he held Lu Weixi’s hand and walked into the venue..
