Though Qin Zhiyou didn’t turn his head at all, he could hear a ripple of hesitation in Lu Weixi’s voice.

He swallowed, then suddenly asked, “Your period, it’s ended, hasn’t it?”

It took a mont for Lu Weixi to catch on. She nodded in agreent, “Mmm…” Just as she finished nodding, she seed to realize sothing and emphatically shook her head, “That’s not possible.”

Only then did Qin Zhiyou slowly turn to look at her, a teasing smile on his face, “I didn’t say anything, what are you saying isn’t possible?”

Knowing that Qin Zhiyou was deliberately baiting her, Lu Weixi’s cheeks flushed slightly, but she remained firm, “Anything, nothing is possible.”

“Oh.” Qin Zhiyou nodded, spoke calmly, “I was planning to tell you that Bai Enterprises has recently been trying to negotiate with Hanhai. I initially ordered my subordinates to decline their offers. But since you say it’s not possible, I guess I’ll collaborate with them. I must say, the proposal Bai Enterprises put forth is quite appealing, very few companies could resist.”

This man, unbelievable. Lu Weixi turned her head away, not wanting to look at him.

Thankfully, their car was already driving into the Qin Family mansion. Lu Weixi got out of the car, and her thoughts imdiately turned to Qin Zhigu.

She had been chosen, which ant she would be working with Qin Zhigu long-term. Even though Qin Zhigu lived next door currently, there was too much gossip in the Qin Family mansion and Qin Zhiyou was also there. Not only making doing anything challenging, even having a private conversation was difficult. Once they began working together, they would spend much more ti in each other’s company. If she were honest, the prospect was a bit off-putting.

Her reunion with Qin Zhigu hadn’t ended on good terms. She acknowledges that a part of him still exists within her, despite five years having passed. The original hatred had faded, but to work together as if nothing happened, she couldn’t do that.

Lu Weixi frowned, just as she was about to step forward, Qin Zhiyou stretched out an arm and wrapped it around her slim waist.

At first, Lu Weixi was quite resistant to his touches, partly because she was ticklish and also, because she wasn’t accustod to this sort of contact with Qin Zhiyou. But maybe, it was because of all the lovey-dovey monts they’d recently been having, as long as his actions weren’t over the top, she let them slide. Perhaps it was because of Qin Zhigu, having Qin Zhiyou around helped her originally chaotic feelings stabilize a bit.

Qin Zhiyou noticed her initial hesitance but her gaze quickly cleared. His brow furrowed slightly, then he shook his head nonchalantly, ushering her into the house with his arm still wrapped around her waist.

As soon as they entered, before they could even greet anyone, Kong Jie’s worried voices welcod them, “You’ve only just co back, why are you going out again? And for a whole week, no less.”

“Mom, I’m going to work. And I’m not leaving the country, just attending an academic conference dostically. Besides, it’s not just going, older brother is going too.”

Lu Weixi turned to look at Qin Zhiyou, his expression calm, “Which is why I told you earlier, I don’t have ti to go to the hospital to see your mom. I have a flight to catch later today.”

It was a long ti since Qin Zhiyou last travelled for work. He’d been ordered to return to Qin Family’s mansion daily during this period, so she’d almost forgotten about his work commitnts.

Their arrival made the mother-son duo packing their things for departure in the living room pause.

Not wanting to face Qin Zhigu, Lu Weixi turned to look at Qin Zhiyou, “So you’re heading out too? Have you finished packing?”

She was just making polite conversation, but to her surprise, Qin Zhiyou’s eyelashes fluttered slightly and he gave a faint smile, “Not yet, will you help
