Yu Sixing had been locking himself up in the company during this period.
He almost never went ho, never visited Xue Feifei, nor returned to the Yu Family. It was just work and more work. Although he had been like this before, it was evident that now he seed to be draining every ounce of his ntal energy into his work.
He worked like a madman—besides eating and sleeping, the mont he opened his eyes it was back to work again. He didn’t leave, so his assistants, secretaries, and subordinates couldn’t leave either. Locked in for two full weeks, everyone was on the verge of losing their minds.
But his incredibly high work efficiency quickly resolved the chaotic business matters of the Yu Family.
When he notified Yue Chichi, she was sowhat stunned. A case with this level of efficiency, in Arica, would normally take over a month to wrap up. Yet he had finished everything in less than a week.
When Yue Chichi knocked on the door, Yu Sixing happened to be taking a call from Xue Feifei’s agent.
The person on the other end simply said a few words: "Miss Xue’s performance was excellent; the other party was very satisfied. If there are no accidents, she’ll likely be chosen as the leading actress."
Yu Sixing paused for a few seconds.
This was the first ti he had heard Xue Feifei’s na in days. While he stood there in a daze, the agent assud there was so kind of issue and cautiously asked, "Should we decline this for her? She’ll have to film, and there’s no guarantee she’ll win an award. The pay isn’t much either, and the director is notoriously strict. They might lock her up in production for several months. During those months, endorsents and comrcial deals would essentially be dead in the water."
"No. If she wants it, support her. And follow this principle going forward. An actor should focus on choosing good scripts and doing their actual job properly. The rest—endorsents, luxury promotions, magazines, variety shows—are just icing on the cake."
The agent froze for a mont, seemingly grasping Yu Sixing’s intention, and promptly nodded: "Understood. Don’t worry, I won’t slack on managing her film projects from now on."
While the two of them were speaking, Yue Chichi had already been guided by an assistant to wait by the door. Yu Sixing didn’t bother avoiding her during the call. After finishing, he snapped back into his composed state: "You’re here to discuss work, right?"
Yue Chichi nodded, "Of course. Or did you think I ca here to reminisce with you?"
Yu Sixing’s expression imdiately grew serious, making Yue Chichi chuckle: "Don’t worry. While your family might be calculating, I still trust you. If you’d ever dared to harbor any malicious intent, you wouldn’t be sitting here discussing work with —you’d probably be sipping tea in custody instead."
The teasing ended there, as the two quickly dived into work talk. By the ti they finished their business, it was already late. Yue Chichi stood up to shake his hand: "Well then, let’s wish for a smooth collaboration."
Yu Sixing hesitated for a mont before standing up as well, shaking hands with Yue Chichi. She smiled again: "Not inviting to dinner?"
The last ti they shared a al, it had escalated to the two of them ending up alone together in a room, and Yu Sixing hesitated slightly for a few monts.
Yue Chichi caught on and laughed: "Alright, I see how it is."
Just as they were about to let go of each other’s hand, a noise suddenly ca from outside. Yu Sixing frowned and heard his assistant trying to stop soone: "Sorry, Mr. Yu is still busy..."
Before the sentence could be finished, the office door was kicked open. The person barging in was Huang Qichu.
The mont Qichu saw Yu Sixing and Yue Chichi holding hands, his expression instantly darkened with rage.
