Afterward, Lu Weixi bent down and picked up the ring.
Qin Zhiyou was bewildered; he indeed intended to propose to her today when he asked her out. But now, before he could say anything about the proposal, she had seen the ring. What should he say next?
Lu Weixi didn’t say a word either, just pinched the ring, her expression murky and indecipherable.

After a long while, Lu Weixi clutched the ring tightly in her hand, neither putting it on nor throwing it away, but gave Qin Zhiyou a cold glare, then turned to walk away.
Qin Zhiyou promptly called out: “Xixi.”
But Lu Weixi ignored him and headed to her bedroom.
Qin Zhiyou knew that Lu Weixi was angry. Although they would eventually marry for the sake of the child, their relationship was quite delicate. All the goodwill that had been so hard-won, how could it possibly break at this mont? He imdiately went after her, grabbing her hand. However, in reality, if Qin Zhiyou simply pulled out the ring, put it on her finger, and said “Marry ,” she guessed she would have nodded in agreent. All those so-called surprises and arrangents didn’t matter as much as him saying that one line.
But he didn’t speak, just secretly held the ring at night, what on earth was he planning? Wasn’t he usually as brazen as a bandit? Or was it that he actually didn’t want to marry at all, and it was rely because of this child? Or was he going to give the ring to soone else?
Qin Zhiyou wanted to keep her there, but she wanted to leave, and the two started arguing in the little space in front of the bedroom. Though they tugged back and forth, neither of them spoke up, silently facing off against each other.
It wasn’t until a cough ca from the room of Lu’s mother next door that Qin Zhiyou finally whispered, “Let’s not disturb mom; she just fell asleep.”
Lu Weixi retorted: “Who is causing a disturbance? It’s you; if you leave, there will be no problem.”
Her words were harsh, but her resistance was not as forceful, ultimately still worried about waking her mother, she was dragged by Qin Zhiyou into the bedroom and the door closed.
Once inside, Lu Weixi regained her composure, coldly broke free, walked a few steps, sat at the edge of the bed, and asked lightly, “Speak, what is it?”
In the past, Qin Zhiyou seed arrogant, stealing his brother’s girlfriend, taking over the family assets, and never showing respect to his mother and elders. In the company, he was decisive, still involved with female celebrities even after marriage, and never compromised even when fined by his grandfather.
But in reality, he always struggled to express his inner feelings. Like his feelings for Lu Weixi, he dared not verbalize to this day. He treated her poorly in the past, made many mistakes, all because he feared that she would learn of his true feelings, not only remaining unloving but also sneering secretly. It seed as if once spoken, sothing of his would be held in the palm of her hand, kneaded and shaped at her whim.
But now, he couldn’t keep silent.
Qin Zhiyou mustered his courage: “Xixi, I want you, marry .”
