Chapter 1323: Chapter 1316: Long Separation Leads to Reunion (2)
Lu Weixi glanced up and saw that the man pulling her arm was neither Qin Zhiyou nor a colleague nor anyone else from the company, but Paul, the Italian designer signed with Qin Zhigu’s studio.
After helping her up, Paul asked with a serious face, “Are you all right?”
He was speaking Italian. During their collaboration, Lu Weixi had picked up a few phrases and had no trouble with simple conversation. She replied, “I’m fine. Thank you.”
Paul let go of her hand and stepped back like a gentleman: “Simpson asked to co over. He was really anxious when he heard about your situation, but he’s abroad and couldn’t buy a plane ticket imdiately, so he insisted that I co to check on you.”
Simpson was actually the real English na Qin Zhigu used before he started going by the alias “Simon White,” and that’s what his friends called him.
Lu Weixi hadn’t expected Qin Zhigu to be the one to co to her aid at this ti.
But as the two of them conversed in Italian, nobody understood a thing, leaving the reporters who were interviewing them completely bewildered.
Paul might have the disheveled look of a designer, hair unkempt, beard unshaven, shirt not fully buttoned, but he was tall, with deep-set eyes and a high nose and was quite handso. The reporters looked at them differently now, their gazes seeming to suggest: Qin Zhiyou has a backup outside, and you’re not falling behind either, finding a foreigner.
Quick to respond, Lu Weixi promptly introduced the man: “This is an Italian designer I have worked with before. We had an appointnt to discuss a project today.”
She could take casual comnts about herself; she didn’t care. But she wasn’t willing to drag others into it.
Paul couldn’t be bothered with the reporters and switched to English: “Miss Lu, my ti is precious. I hope we can sit down for negotiations in five minutes and conclude the eting within an hour. I have to travel out of town this afternoon.”
Lu Weixi nodded: “Of course, please.”
Paul walked ahead with his head held high. His height and serious expression ant that most English-speaking reporters understood him. Realizing that there was no intimate atmosphere between the two and knowing that Italians are expressive with their greetings, including hugs and kisses, they moved aside.
As soon as they entered the office, Xiaochen ca up to her: “Ms. Lu, there’s a call for you, about a project from Simon White Studio.”
Xiaochen purposefully spoke loud enough for everyone in the office to hear.
Lu Weixi was startled for a mont, then glanced back at Paul, who just shrugged and smiled.
Lu Weixi quickly asked Xiaochen to take Paul to the lounge and then she picked up the phone. It was Qin Zhigu on the line, and his first words were, “I have a project and would like to collaborate with you. I’ll be the principal designer, with Paul assisting. The project information has been sent to your email; you can look over the materials first. Don’t rush your response; I’ll be back in the country in two days and will discuss it with you in person.”
At first, Lu Weixi thought he was seizing the opportunity to talk about her personal affairs, but he began with work. Although she understood that Qin Zhigu’s help at this mont was indeed like sending coal in snowy weather, steadying the situation for her.
Regardless of whether she and Qin Zhiyou were divorced or not, she was established in her work, and he could offer support.
“I understand, thank you,” she said.
“No need to thank . The Siyi Company project and the city museum project have already demonstrated your capability.”
