Chapter 1251: Chapter 1254 Obstetrics and Gynecology (2) Chapter 1251: Chapter 1254 Obstetrics and Gynecology (2) Zhao Zihuan laughed again, “Can’t seem to et the right one.”
Lu’s mom pressed, “So what kind of girl do you like?”
Zhao Zihuan actually gave it so serious thought before smiling again, “Soone gentle, filial, but also decisive, not soone who just nods and listens without her own opinion, soone who’s understanding.”
Lu’s mom was thrilled; could he essentially be talking about her own daughter?
She wanted to say sothing, but Lu Weixi had finished her call and walked in, imdiately apologizing, “I was just on a call, how is my mom doing?”
“Lu Auntie is doing well, don’t worry,” Zhao Zihuan answered, “But cancer needs constant attention, if there’s any discomfort at all, get to the hospital imdiately, don’t hesitate.”
Lu Weixi nodded, “Got it, thank you.”
Then she and Lu’s mom took their leave.
Once outside the hospital, Lu Weixi turned to her and asked, “Mom, what were you talking to Dr. Zhao about?”
Unexpectedly, Lu’s mom turned the question around, “What do you think of Dr. Zhao?”
Lu Weixi, puzzled, answered straightforwardly, “He seems nice, serious and responsible, very approachable and down to earth.”
“No, I an in that sense,” Lu’s mom winked at her.
Lu Weixi, catching on to what her mom was insinuating, was still a bit confused. She barely had anything to do with Zhao Zihuan, rarely even exchanging words; how could this be possible?
“In what sense?” she feigned ignorance on purpose.
“You know, in that sense.”
“Mom, just say what you an,” Lu Weixi’s expression grew serious, having already grasped her mom’s implication.
“You know what I’m asking.” Lu’s mom, sharing that mother-daughter intuition, could tell Lu Weixi had guessed her thoughts, but still wanted her to say it aloud, “I an, since you’re already divorced, do you plan to stay single for Qin Zhiyou for the rest of your life? You’re still young, without children, have a good job, and are beautiful; don’t you want to find soone again? I think Dr. Zhao would be nice. He’s handso, a kind person, a PhD, plus the type he likes is just like you. Why not give it a try?”
“What should I strive for, Mom? I just finished my PhD and am about to go study further; I’ve got work to do,” Lu Weixi felt sowhat speechless, “Besides, just because he’s a catch doesn’t an I should try things out with him. I don’t like him, and he might not be into either.”
“How do you know if you don’t try? Back in the day, you even fell for soone like Qin Zhiyou; what about Zhao Zihuan now?”
Lu Weixi was grateful that she and her mom were in her car, where their conversation couldn’t be overheard. She adjusted her tone, “Mom, I don’t feel anything romantic for Dr. Zhao; bottom line is there’s no spark between us. My marriage to Qin Zhiyou was rushed, and you’ve seen how that ended. It’s not that I’m against remarriage, but if I do, I can’t lower my standards. Why else would I have divorced? I would have just stayed with Qin Zhiyou, right? At least it has to be soone I actually like. Dr. Zhao is nice, I admit, but I don’t feel that way about him. Please don’t talk to him about this stuff anymore. For one thing, when Qin Zhiyou and I divorced, we agreed not to go public, and I can’t talk about it. Secondly, I want to handle my own affairs. If needed, I’ll take matters into my own hands and maybe sign up for a matchmaking event, okay?”
