The person who ca out was Nangong Jue.

He looked at Shen Weixi, a trace of slight surprise and worry flashing through his eyebrows and eyes.

"Weixi, why did you take so long? And you’re sweating all over? Did sothing happen?"

Shen Weixi waved her hand, her face full of righteous indignation, "Don’t ntion it, I just stepped out the door and ran into a thief who snatched my purse. I chased him for several streets! How hateful!"

"Was the purse recovered?"

Shen Weixi nodded, glancing inside, "Huh? Where’s Yue’er? Why don’t I see Yue’er?"

Nangong Jue pursed his lips, his brows slightly furrowed, "Wanyue fainted, I’ve already..."

"What?! Fainted?"

Shen Weixi interrupted Nangong Jue with a look of shock and rushed past him into the room anxiously.

In the elegant room, Yun Ran lay quietly on the rattan chair, eyes gently closed, her face a bit pale, as if she were asleep.

Shen Weixi rushed over, reaching out to touch her forehead, finding it cool to the touch, with no abnormalities.

She touched her cheek and hand again, then turned to look at Nangong Jue who had followed her in.

"Did you let a doctor co to check? How could soone just faint suddenly? Did soone notify Prince Qin?"

Nangong Jue’s gaze fell on Yun Ran, standing against the light, making it hard for others to read his expression.

"You were too anxious just now, I’ve already sent soone to call a doctor to see her."

Shen Weixi awkwardly scratched her head, "What did the doctor say? Why would a healthy person faint?"

"The doctor said that Wanyue is weak, and with her mind troubled of late, it caused her to faint."

"As long as she is cared for carefully and rests well for a while, she’ll be fine."

"Weixi, don’t worry too much."

Troubled of mind?

Shen Weixi instinctively wanted to refute, but swallowed her words.

Although Yue’er appeared happy and carefree the few tis she’d seen her recently, ever since that bastard Shen Mubai returned to the capital with Yu Qingyan half a year ago, she hadn’t seen her smile again.

Though she stubbornly never cried in front of her, how could Shen Weixi not know how many tis she must have cried alone?

In just one short month, she’d lost considerable weight. On the night Shen Mubai and Yu Qingyan got engaged, she stood in the rain all night, falling ill the next day.

This illness lasted over a month.

Until just a few days before her marriage to King Qin, she went to see her before leaving the capital, and by then she had only just recovered.

Now thinking about it, it was understandable that the turmoil in her heart, difficult feelings and emotions, led to her physical debilitation.

Thinking of this, Shen Weixi felt a pang of distress, especially looking at Yun Ran, who lay unconscious and slightly pale, she felt even worse.

Shen Mubai, that bastard! A heartless scoundrel deserving to be beaten till unable to get out of bed!

If she knew who did the beating, she’d even want to send them a plaque!

...

Prince Qin Mansion, study.

Nangong Mo sat quietly at the desk, holding a pen in hand, reviewing military reports.

His handso face like a painting, his expression indifferent. His seductive thin lips pressed into a frosty curve, emitting a distant chill.

"My lord, not good! I have urgent news to report!"

Ye Xiao rushed in like the wind, his voice preceding him.

Nangong Mo lifted his eyes, giving him a lazy glance, "Is a ghost chasing you?"

Faced with his master’s rciless disdain, Ye Xiao sheepishly scratched his nose.

"My lord, wasn’t I keeping watch outside Yanyu Building? Guess who I saw? You surely won’t guess it!"

Nangong Mo continued his writing without lifting a brow.

"Drag him away, beat him to death."

Ye Xiao shivered, imdiately straightening up.

"My lord, I saw with my own eyes after the princess and Miss Shen went inside, the Crown Prince also went to Yanyu Building, even to the third floor, to the very room where the princess was!"

Nangong Mo’s fingers paused, a drop of ink spread on the Xuan paper, obscuring the writing.

He raised his eyes, frowning at Ye Xiao, his gaze cold as ice and snow.

Ye Xiao’s heart trembled under his gaze, and he quickly said with steely resolve:

"Shortly after the Crown Prince went in, Miss Shen ca out!"

Hiss—

It seed even colder!

Ye Xiao shrank his neck, a face full of a death-defying spirit, "Later the Crown Prince’s guard led Doctor Mo from Hundred Herbs Hall in, staying in the room for about a quarter of an hour or so..."

Before Ye Xiao finished, Nangong Mo suddenly stood up, the chill around him almost condensing into ice.

Ye Xiao’s heart quivered, "My lord?"

"Prepare the carriage!"

Nangong Mo strode out suddenly, Ye Xiao jumped in fright, quickly following, "Lord, lord, your leg! Your leg! There’s a spy in our mansion now!"

Ye Xiao: Just now he was disdainfully accusing of panicking like a ghost was chasing , and now? Can’t even bother with the wheelchair?

...

Yanyu Building.

Shen Weixi frowned tightly, "Why hasn’t Yue’er woken up yet? Do you think we should call another doctor?"

Nangong Jue sat to the side, flipping through a scroll, "The doctor said she might be just too tired and will wake up after a good rest."

"Is that so?"

"Should we take her back to Prince Qin Mansion first? We don’t know when Yue’er will wake up; it’s not a solution to stay here indefinitely."

As they spoke, a carriage stopped outside Yanyu Building.

When Nangong Mo alighted, it caused quite a stir.

Once the renowned War God General who was famous throughout Jiuzhou, few had seen him off the battlefield.

Since retreating to the capital after the Cloud Mountain incident, he had rarely appeared in public.

Only having appeared a few tis since his marriage.

People automatically parted to make a path, watching as Nangong Mo ascended to the third floor.

Only when his figure disappeared in the corridor did whispers start.

"Oh my! It’s really Prince Qin! I missed him last ti, didn’t expect to see the real Prince Qin today! Even more handso than in paintings!"

"I think the Crown Prince is also at Yanyu Building, did he co to find him?"

In the third-floor elegant room, Nangong Jue was bending to lift Yun Ran.

The door to the room slamd open, startling everyone inside.

Shen Weixi and Nangong Jue simultaneously turned to look, only to see Nangong Mo emanating a cold aura, his handso face icy like snow,

The flowing white robes exuding a chilling and awe-inspiring aura.

Shen Weixi beca inexplicably guilty and panicked, "Prince, Prince Qin? Why are you here?"

"Ninth Prince? What a coincidence!"

Nangong Mo’s black eyes narrowed, his gaze fixed on Nangong Jue’s hand on Yun Ran’s shoulder, a stormy murderous chill in his eyes.

He wheeled forward coldly, his voice icy, "Not a coincidence, I ca to pick up my princess."

Nangong Jue smiled, withdrew his hand, and stepped aside.

"Wanyue fainted, the doctor checked her and said it’s due to weakness and a troubled heart. With good care, it’ll be fine, Ninth Prince need not worry."
