An urgent email demanded all available researchers to imdiately head to Lab Two; it seed that a terrible day started right at that mont.

After turning off the email, Han Fei took out the Night Patrol Map. Lab Two was located on the third basent level, the closest large laboratory to the surface, primarily used to test the deep interaction between personality consciousness and intelligent devices, jointly created by Deep Space Technology and Eternal Life Pharmaceutical.

"The shrine is hidden on the nineteenth floor, my primary goal is to destroy the shrine, secondly to destroy Gao Xing’s god statue to regain power, and finally to uncover the truth."

Han Fei glanced at the map; the Eternal Life Building had thirty-three floors above ground and eighteen floors below.

"If the system isn’t wrong, the shrine should be upstairs, but what if there’s an issue with the map that doesn’t show everything?"

Having entered so many Shrine mory Worlds, Han Fei had accumulated rich experience. Most shrines were hidden in very secretive places, unlikely to be placed on such an obvious position like the nineteenth floor.

The alarm sounded incessantly, and before Han Fei could make a decision, footsteps suddenly echoed from the corridor outside, then the door to the lounge was pushed open.

Han Fei turned his head to see a stern-faced middle-aged man standing at the door. He planned to scold Han Fei but changed his attitude imdiately after noticing the A level on Han Fei’s identification card: "There’s an issue with the second stage of the Eternal Life Plan. The higher-ups requested all researchers to head over. I was worried you didn’t receive the email, so I ca to inform you specifically."

"Are you sure it was a person notifying all researchers to co over?" Han Fei’s words left the middle-aged man stunned.

"What do you an?"

"Is there a possibility that sothing else is calling us over? Wanting to capture us all in one go?" Han Fei fixated on the middle-aged man, making him feel uneasy.

"I don’t understand what you’re saying. I’m just here to convey the higher-ups’ ssage, hoping you’ll head over quickly." After saying that, the middle-aged man left.

Inside the room, Han Fei packed up all his things, had a filling al, and then left the lounge.

The researcher lounge he stayed in was located on the second basent level, and due to a confidentiality agreent with Eternal Life Pharmaceutical, they couldn’t leave the building until the experints succeeded; they lived and stayed underground.

The corridors were densely packed with surveillance caras, with gates and sentries every dozen ters; the underground of the Eternal Life Building was like a massive prison.

The scenes from many horror films were not as exaggerated as this place. The more Han Fei observed, the more shocked he beca. It seed Eternal Life Pharmaceutical was extrely afraid of sothing underground coming out, hence the layers of protection.

"Is it necessary to guard like this just for brain area experints?"

As Han Fei took a few steps around the corner of the corridor, the middle-aged man he had seen earlier appeared once again. With the sa serious expression, he seed to see Han Fei for the first ti: "Hello, there’s an issue with the second stage of the Eternal Life Plan. The leadership requires all researchers to head to Lab Two promptly."

With almost the exact words and tone, the middle-aged man looked directly at Han Fei, holding a red file folder in his hand.

"You..." Han Fei stared at the man’s face. Compared to before, there was no change in his facial features, yet the more you looked, the more sothing seed out of place.

Couldn’t quite pin down where the issue was, but staring made one feel uncomfortable.

"The issue with the second stage is very serious, you need to head over quickly." After urging Han Fei again, the middle-aged man took the folder and walked towards another researcher lounge.

"Didn’t I just et him? If the man I first encountered was real, then what is this?" With an exploration and practical spirit fitting of an A-level researcher, Han Fei took out the Rebirth Slaughter Saber from the item bar and stealthily followed the middle-aged man.

The man kept repeating similar phrases, knocking on doors and notifying all available researchers to assemble.

"In the underground laboratory, is there sothing that looks a lot like a human, but isn’t?" Han Fei slowly uncovered the issue through observation.

Leveraging his freakish physical prowess, he attacked from behind and subdued the middle-aged man in re seconds: "Don’t move!"

Han Fei had a special identification thod. He slashed at the middle-aged man’s arm with the Rebirth Slaughter Saber. The bright blade easily cut through the man’s skin, but bizarrely, no blood flowed from the wound.

Upon knowing his cover was blown, the middle-aged man’s body suddenly erupted with strength far beyond a normal person’s. There seed to be another hidden face within his mouth, slowly growing outward.

Han Fei’s body was thrown, but he landed smoothly, no longer holding back, he slashed directly at the middle-aged man’s neck.

Few researchers were as adept at fighting as Han Fei, who seldom carried around sabers and Papern.

The middle-aged man never expected Han Fei to be so formidable. His hands barely rising before his head rolled to the floor.

In a daze, his hands reached for his neck; there was no flesh, only concentric patterns resembling tree rings.

The severed head bore a terrified expression, mouth gaping as if calling for help, but its voice was inaudible to the average person.

Determined to eradicate the threat, Han Fei pursued the direction in which the head rolled, but after rounding a corner, the head vanished, and even Han Fei, with his Hide-and-Seek talent, couldn’t locate it.

"That thing is definitely not human. What exactly is Eternal Life Pharmaceutical experinting with underground?"

Returning the way he ca, when Han Fei reached the place where he fought the middle-aged man, the body was already gone, leaving only scattered debris.

Looking at the claw marks among the debris, Han Fei compared with his hand: "Was the body eaten by so large beast?"

Eternal Life Building is the place closest to reality, circulating the day Gao Xing most anticipated. Everything happening here has either happened in reality or is going to happen, aning when Han Fei saw these monsters, it indicated that similar experints were indeed being conducted by Eternal Life Pharmaceutical in reality.

"So my life is even more terrifying than Deep World, just that I didn’t know it."

Han Fei picked up a red file folder; it contained a lot of personal information about researchers, along with their photos. However, many of the photos looked odd, particularly that of the middle-aged man.

The alarm sound beca more urgent, and Han Fei didn’t take the elevator, instinctively wanting to use the stairs.

After searching for a while, when Han Fei smashed the lock on the security door, he discovered there was no path outside, only a steel plate of unknown thickness.

"Was there never a path? Or due to the ergency alert, were all paths sealed?"

No choice, Han Fei had to go to the elevator area, where other researchers were also waiting, and he silently morized everyone’s appearance.

"Most of them seem normal enough."

The elevator door opened, and those researchers quickly ran inside, except for Han Fei, who remained outside.

"Co in! Quick! Don’t waste ti!" Soone waved impatiently at Han Fei, while another tried to pull him inside.

"I forgot a very important experint record." Han Fei pretended to have sothing to do and ran outside.

He stopped after the elevator door closed, looked back, and saw the numbers on the elevator display screen rapidly changing, in a blink from negative two to negative eighteen.

"Lab number two is on sub-level three; who pressed sub-level eighteen? Or is there sothing on sub-level eighteen that wants them to go?"

At this mont, another elevator opened next to him, with a burst of cold air rushing out.

Han Fei realized he seed to have no other route to choose; the ergency pathways were blocked; only by taking the elevator could he reach other floors.

"Sacrificing Eternal Life gave five chances to cheat death; taking the elevator should be fine."

Even with three lives, Han Fei, being cautious, still didn’t choose to enter the elevator directly. Instead, he spent twenty minutes searching all over sub-level two until ensuring there was no other way out before returning to the elevator.

Pressing the button to go to sub-level three, Han Fei crouched in the corner of the elevator, holding a paperman.

The elevator door slowly closed, and when it opened again, he had smoothly reached sub-level three.

The alarm was still blaring nonstop, but not a single living person was to be seen.

"Logically, the place where all researchers gather should be very ’lively’, discussing together how to solve the problems encountered in the second stage. But only twenty minutes have passed, so how co it feels like everyone has disappeared?"

Han Fei hid the Rebirth Slaughter Saber in his sleeve, following the clean and tidy tal path outlined on the Night Patrol Map, he arrived at the entrance of lab number two.

Taking out an A-level access card to open the tal door, a series of transparent treatnt pods appeared before Han Fei, inside which test subjects were connected and fixed by countless tubes. So brains were cut open, others resembling fish, with mouths opening and closing as if silently crying for help.

Walking past the treatnt pods, Han Fei found that almost all the test subjects’ physical conditions were poor; they weren’t being treated at all, and the equipnt was only maintaining their basic viability.

"Did the children in the orphanage also go through this?"

Han Fei found the main control console of the laboratory, and just as he sat down, he saw a ssage hastily written in red pen on the console screen— A bug in the Perfect Life ga cannot be fixed! I have a terrifying guess, it might have betrayed us! No matter who you are, make sure to pass on the ssage I’ve left! We might all have been deceived by it!

The writer seed short on ti, writing quickly, making so words hard to recognize without a closer look.

"The computer is right here, so why write a ssage with a pen?"

While Han Fei was still speculating, the main control screen suddenly popped up with an urgent ssage.

"*Month*Day, Thursday, 9:46 AM, the Perfect Life ga is operating normally; the number of brain deaths among key focus individuals has increased to 51! All idle researchers should imdiately report to lab number two!"

Looking at the ssage claiming Perfect Life was operating normally, Han Fei gently touched the main control screen: "There’s a discrepancy between the note and the ssage. Is the system deceiving the researchers? Or is soone with higher authority deliberately releasing false information?"
