83: Chapter 83 Eighth Floor 83: Chapter 83 Eighth Floor “The footsteps again!”

Han Fei imdiately stopped what he was doing and turned to hide in room 1062.

His body pressed against the door, his eyes watching the corridor outside through the peephole.

“How terrifying must the owner of those footsteps be if even Xu Qin is unwilling to face it?”

The footsteps grew faster, and the ring on Han Fei’s hand began to emit a bone-chilling cold; that thing was coming!

Holding his breath, Han Fei maintained his posture; he wanted to see what the other looked like.

The footsteps stopped on the sixth floor, and the coolness emanating from the landlord’s ring almost froze Han Fei’s fingers off.

Han Fei knew the other was right at the door, but he couldn’t see anything through the peephole; the corridor was pitch black with not even a ghostly shadow.

“An invisible neighbor?”

Not knowing what the other looked like, only aware of its presence, this unknown terror was even more frightening.

“Could it be watching through the peephole right now?”

Han Fei was startled by the thought that suddenly surfaced in his mind; he curled up behind the security door, not daring to make any sound.

It was very quiet outside the door, much like usual.

If it weren’t for Han Fei’s possession of the landlord’s ring, which allowed him to feel that astonishing chill, he might have thought the other had left.

“That ghost is still waiting at the door for !”

The standoff lasted for fifteen minutes before the footsteps sounded again and the ghost outside the door left.

“What exactly is it?

Invisible yet tangibly real, and it makes those strange footsteps.”

After the ring stopped giving off coolness, Han Fei quietly opened the room door and quickly opened the door to room 1063.

He searched all the rooms on the sixth floor, and system prompts appeared in his brain sea.

“Attention, player number 0000!

You have completed the G-level main quest of exploring the sixth floor.

You have received the basic reward of one Free Skill Point.”

“Attention, player number 0000!

You have successfully leveled up to Level Five!

One Free Attribute Point added!”

After completing the quest, Han Fei breathed a sigh of relief.

He added the attribute point to Physical Strength and continued to invest skill points into Acting.

Now his Physical Strength had reached eight and Acting had reached interdiate level seven; he should be able to break through to high-level before long.

“After increasing my Physical Strength, all indicators of my body are improving.

Even in reality, I should now be considered quite capable, right?”

Han Fei swung his fists, comparing himself with the scarred Outsider he t before: “My speed is almost on par with his, just a bit behind in physical strength.

I guess after I level up a few more tis, if I encounter a similar maniac, it’s going to be him who needs to run.”

Only after confirming that he could exit the ga freely, did Han Fei start working on the Human-body Puzzle task.

The most difficult part of this F-level quest was that players had to search for body parts puzzles throughout the entire apartnt building, risking the chance of triggering sothing terrible.

But for Han Fei, it was different; he had clarified the positions of the remaining body parts in reality.

Guided by the information left by ng Changxi at the ti, he easily found three “puzzle” pieces.

These “puzzles” were actually remnants of the victims’ bodies.

According to the system Identification, apart from the astonishing Curse and Resentnt lingering on these body parts, they seed to also conceal so special emotions.

“The easy ones are all found; the remaining four puzzle pieces, two are on the eighth floor, two on the ninth floor, places I haven’t been to yet.”

“After exiting the ga today, there’s only one day left for this task.

It’s nearly impossible to enter the eighth and ninth floors to find the four puzzle pieces within one day.”

Han Fei took a deep breath, “If I don’t want the task to fail, I must find more puzzle pieces today.”

It was his first ti accepting a task beyond his level, and the reward was definitely substantial; Han Fei was unwilling to give up easily.

He decided to take advantage of the ti when he could freely exit the ga to take a look at the eighth floor—if it didn’t work out, he could just leave directly.

“ng Shi warned before that there’s a problem with the stairs between the seventh and eighth floors.

After midnight, if you go there, you might end up in another place and see so peculiar things.”

Carefully arriving at the seventh floor, the door of Room 1064 was closed but still unlocked.

“Who closed the door?

The owner of those strange footsteps?

Does it also not want to look in the mirror?”

The thing the opponent was unwilling to do might be its weakness.

“Could it be that mirrors can reflect it?”

Han Fei noticed this detail, but now his relationship with the mirror on the seventh floor was even worse; if he dared show up in front of the mirror, he guessed he might provoke the Mirror Ghost to co right out.

“Take it slow, no rush.”

Stopping on the stairs between the seventh and eighth floors, Han Fei carefully observed and discovered a large amount of bloodstains scattered on the steps.

“It looks like many people have died on these stairs.”

Trying to step on the stairs between the seventh and eighth floors, Han Fei didn’t notice anything unusual.

He stepped up gradually, only feeling that the blood’s scent in the air was growing stronger.

“Gulp!”

Suddenly, a noise reached his ears, followed by a grating laughter.

“It sounds like it’s coming from right beside ?”

He was accustod to using the wall to go upstairs; when he looked beside him this ti, his complexion instantly worsened.

On the mottled wall were drawings of so strange and curious things, a few young people pulling on the hands and feet of a middle-aged person, as though they were trying to tear him apart.

“Is it the young people on the wall laughing?”

Han Fei looked at the young people, and as he shifted his gaze, he saw with his own eyes one of the figures on the wall turning its head slightly, as if sneaking a glance at him.

His heart skipped a beat, but Han Fei showed no sign of unease on his face.

He pretended he hadn’t heard the strange noise at all and dashed up to the eighth floor in one go.

“Ghosts in the residential areas, ghosts in the hallways, now even the stairs and walls are unsafe.”

After Han Fei left the staircase, the bloody scent in the air dissipated, and when he looked back at the wall, there was nothing there.

“Could it be that there are ghosts on the walls too?

Do they hook away the souls of passersby?

But why do they only appear between the seventh and eighth floors?”

This ti Han Fei was lucky not to be affected, but he couldn’t guarantee he would always be so fortunate, “Having such a hidden danger in the hallway is really too risky.

Should I try setting the wall on fire to burn off the plaster?

I just don’t know where to find sothing like gasoline inside the building.”

Thinking of a plan in his head, Han Fei cautiously made his way to the doorstep of Room 1084; the puzzle piece he was looking for was hidden in this room.

Grabbing the doorknob, Han Fei applied a little force and the door opened.

“Unlocked?”

Han Fei was a little surprised, but before he could snap back to his senses, that eerie set of footsteps appeared again.

This ti he heard it clearly; the sound was coming from the ninth floor, right above his head!

The other party was moving extrely fast; Han Fei had no ti for hesitation and imdiately ducked into Room 1084.
