Chapter 762: Chapter 762: New Work “No One Survives
“What did the old man’s letter say?”
The four people in the bedroom all focused on the letter in Han Fei’s hand, like sharks that had scented blood, crowding around Han Fei.
“They want to hold a death art competition here, using this town as the stage, to select new Core mbers from among us,” Han Fei revealed without any concealnt. Even if he hadn’t spoken, those psychopaths would have learned the news from elsewhere.
“It seems we are in luck, becoming a Core mber is a dream for many.”
“I can’t believe I have such an opportunity just three months after joining. Nice, I will perform well.”
“Death art? Isn’t that what I’ve always been pursuing?”
The four in the room rubbed their hands with excitent, their minds already brimming with various inspirations and ideas, and streaks of Blood Silk appearing in their eyes.
“Let’s not be too optimistic though. We are the last ones here, which ans we have the least ti to create, and it’s very likely that the earlier arrivals have picked off the quality prey. If there are Newcors among them stirring up trouble, the police might co imdiately, and we would have to cover for them,” said Fisherman Shenhai, not rushing to start. He went back into the bedroom and turned on the only television in the room.
The screen, full of black and white static, flickered a few tis before displaying a sinister image.
A young girl’s throat was slit, and she was hung from a cliff, her legs tied to stones.
As ti passed, the girl’s body gradually tilted toward the black sea.
“This must be the countdown. Before the girl ets death, we have to complete our artwork,” murmured the Holess Man, his eyes narrowing as he stared at the sensitive parts of the girl’s body with a repressed, beast-like gaze.
“How shall we present our work to the judges then? Record an explanatory video or take photos and send them to a designated place?”
“It’s not that troubleso. The Core mbers should also be in the town, and they might even be watching us all the ti,” Shenhai seed to know a lot: “You guys are really underestimating the Core mbers, those guys are psychopaths who have climbed out of piles of dead bodies. If they didn’t have extraordinary abilities and intelligence, they would have been caught by the Xinhu Police already.”
“True, then we shouldn’t waste any more ti.” The woman in hospital attire was the first to head for the door, “Good luck to you all.”
Among them, she appeared the weakest, so after learning the rules, she decisively chose to leave imdiately.
Neither the Holess Man nor Shenhai lingered, leaving only Han Fei and the middle-aged white-collar worker in the room.
“Why aren’t you leaving with them?” asked the middle-aged man, dressed finely and exuding curiosity.
“I was wondering about sothing. Twenty people were notified to attend this offline gathering. I wonder where the other fifteen people, apart from us, are now?” Han Fei watched the girl on the TV, the video was pre-recorded, not live; her fate was already sealed, there was no need to go and save her.
“Who knows? They might have already completed their artwork, or they could still be choosing their prey, or perhaps they chickened out and didn’t dare to co,” the middle-aged white-collar unbuttoned his shirt collar, “People are very complex, and not everyone has the courage to take this final step, to embrace their true selves.”
“People are indeed complex,” Han Fei, wearing a Joker mask, turned to look at the middle-aged man, “You look very successful, presumably having a very happy life. Why would you co to our gathering? This should be a gathering place for the unfortunate; you seem slightly out of place.”
“Is that so?” the man’s confident smile gradually revealed a hint of coldness and impatience, “From childhood, I received elite education, always the neighbor’s admired child at the top of my class with countless awards. But these aren’t really what I wanted. I have always been shackled by my family in a golden cage, I’m not their pet nor an art piece they crafted, I am a complete individual.”
The middle-aged man unbuttoned all his shirt buttons and took a pack of teeth from his briefcase, flaunting it to Han Fei as if to show off: “I want to escape from that cage, but I don’t have the courage to smash it, so I must vent in my own way, such as indulging in so special hobbies to distract myself.”
“Is collecting teeth your hobby?”
“No, pulling teeth out of the living is what I enjoy doing,” the man covered his mouth, his smile beginning to twist, “They’re bound hand and foot, watching as their teeth are pulled out one by one, then screaming through their throats, convulsing in pain as blood flows from the wound filling their mouths. You can’t forget such a scene once you’ve seen it; it’s too captivating.”
The man pressed the bag of teeth against his chest and rubbed it vigorously, emitting a giggle.
“Quite a low-level interest,” Han Fei found it rather boring, “How many tis have you pulled teeth? Or should I say, how many people have you killed?”
At such a direct question, the middle-aged man’s expression slowly returned to normal, and he reached into his briefcase, “Three people, but soon… it will be four!”
The middle-aged white-collar pulled out a pair of pliers from his bag and suddenly rushed at Han Fei, swinging the pliers toward Han Fei’s head.
“Three would be more than enough for a death sentence,” Han Fei muttered, as if he hadn’t realized what was happening.
The middle-aged white-collar’s eyes bulged, his mind seemingly picturing a scene of brains spilling out, but the pliers stopped just above Han Fei’s head.
His arm couldn’t move a centiter further, as a hand firmly grasped the middle-aged man’s arm.
“Actually, after seeing the letter, I began to ponder a question. I want to beco a Core mber of the Death Spread Group Chat, but I don’t want to kill innocent people, so how should I create my own artwork?”
Han Fei’s fingers slowly tightened, and the middle-aged man let out a scream, his pliers falling to the ground.
“After seeing you, I understood what I should do,” Han Fei raised his head, his eyes peering nacingly from underneath the Joker mask, “You are also living people, you are also in this town, you other nineteen people are my artwork.”
“What are you trying to do?!” the middle-aged man desperately struggled, but the difference in strength between them was too great.
“I’ll do what you love doing most, show you what a real devil is like, and teach you to respect others and fear death,” he replied without any rcy.
Han Fei, without any compassion, broke the middle-aged man’s hand bones, and this was just the beginning.
Covering the middle-aged man’s mouth, Han Fei crippled both his hands and legs, using techniques he had learned in Deep World to impart true pain on the white-collar worker.
“If I pull out all your teeth, this won’t look like self-defense anymore.”
Hearing Han Fei’s words, the middle-aged man felt slightly relieved; he was truly terrified now.
“Then it’s all up to fate.”
Han Fei slamd his fist into the man’s mouth, and several bloodied teeth flew out.
After thoroughly checking the wounds to ensure the man wouldn’t die imdiately, Han Fei wiped away his fingerprints from the scene and erased all traces before walking outside.
“Everyone else is preparing their creations; I can’t fall too far behind.”
The Death Spread Group Chat wanted to choose a new Core mber from twenty candidates, which made Han Fei think of the Paradise ga in the mory Shrine of Fu Sheng. Rather than creating the finest piece and handing the judgnt over to the high ranks of the Death Spread Group Chat, it was better to kill the other nineteen individuals and secure the promotion power firmly in his own hands.
This is what Han Fei thought, and this is what he did.
“Killing everyone in the Death Spread Group Chat, that’s what a true Death Spread Group Chat is.”
Wearing an absurd, abnormal Joker mask, Han Fei almost rged with the darkness as he looked toward the distant alley.
The stench-emitting vagrant was following a drunken couple, his head hanging low, occasionally glancing around with the corner of his eyes, seemingly walking slowly but actually slowly closing the distance with the couple.
This perverted hunter’s targets seed to always be won; he had severe psychological issues and could hardly hide his grotesque expressions as he approached the couple.
Holding a piece of broken glass picked up from sowhere, the vagrant liked to use these dirty, discarded things to kill, taking pleasure in tarnishing what was clean and pure—the dirtier, the more satisfied he felt.
Five ters, three ters, one ter…
The vagrant, fully focused on the couple, did not realize that another man was following just fifty centiters behind him, their trailing skills in completely different leagues.
The vagrant slled the alcohol and perfu on the couple, emitting a deep panting as his eyes locked onto the man’s neck, and then he raised his hand holding the glass shard.
“Your girlfriend, I’ll take good care of her!”
The dirty hand descended toward the man’s neck, the vagrant found his angle, but before he could pierce through the man’s neck, he felt a huge force from behind.
The vagrant staggered, the shard embedded in the man’s shoulder, and his body slamd into the man’s back.
The shoulder pierced, the drunken man let out a scream, the pain making him jump.
“Are you blind?!”
He yelled furiously at the vagrant, holding his bleeding shoulder and kicked him down to the ground.
“This man just tried to stab your neck with glass; we absolutely cannot let him off easily!” Han Fei joined them, stomping on and breaking the vagrant’s wrist.
The sound of bones shattering sobered up the drunken man, who then saw Han Fei sequentially break the vagrant’s arms and legs.
In the dead of night, a man wearing a Joker mask suddenly appeared, breaking half the bones in the vagrant’s body; who wouldn’t be scared seeing that?
“Why not, let’s just let it go?” the man backed away, moving his still bleeding shoulder: “Look, I’m fine, it’s just so skin; if you beat him a bit longer, my bleeding will stop.”
The man wanted to say more, but his girlfriend quickly pulled him back, and they didn’t dare stay, running faster and faster, and guessing it would be a long ti before they ventured out at night again.
“The residents of this town are quite kind, actually speaking up for you.” Han Fei squatted beside the vagrant, smiling as he stared at him, then dragged him into the back alley.
“What, what are you trying to do?!”
“Keep it down, don’t force to slaughter you.”
