699: Chapter 699: Water Monster, Water Trickery 699: Chapter 699: Water Monster, Water Trickery “Our photo?”

Han Fei, erging from the nightmare wrapped in a curse, pushed the door open with force.

A strong stench of decay emanated from the pitch-black bedroom, and the cramped room was filled with various colorful drawings.

In the center of all the pictures, there was a little boy locked in chains.

He held a broken finger, dipped in various paints, and lay on the ground drawing.

“Number Four?”

Han Fei noticed the clothes on the boy; the uniform jacket from the welfare ho was badly damaged, and the number on the child’s back was sowhat blurred.

“Why do you have our photo?” The boy did not look up and continued to draw on the ground.

This ti, he drew a child who fantasized about death constantly but never hard anyone; he rely suppressed his impulses by continually injuring himself.

“I’m just like you, a child who walked out of that orphanage.” Before Han Fei could finish, his backpack was torn open, and Chou Cat pulled out a photo from the pages of a scriptbook.

The group photo of the children had been hidden in the scriptbook in the basent all this ti, a gift the painter gave to Han Fei that seed to be ant for use at this very mont.

As if sensing sothing, the boy with his head bowed slowly looked up at Han Fei.

His eyelids, sullied with blood, blinked slowly; then he pounced on Han Fei like an enraged leopard!

“Bang!”

The chains tensed, digging into the flesh, and the boy’s hands hovered in front of Han Fei.

He opened his mouth wide, revealing a set of jagged, broken teeth.

It seed his mother and grandmother, worried that he would continue to harm people, had removed his teeth and clipped his nails.

“Don’t be agitated; if you want to look, I can give it to you.” Han Fei handed over the orphans’ group photo to the boy.

Clutching the photo with both hands, his fierce expression slowly returned to calm, as though a child had found comfort in a companion’s embrace after a long absence.

The scabs of blood on his eyelids began to fall off, and a hint of sanity returned to his eyes.

“When you entered Building Eleven, you should have seen the embodint of Building Eleven’s childhood mory, right?” The boy’s voice was gentle and calm, starkly contrasting with his earlier behavior, even more terrifying than split personality.

“Yes.” Han Fei did not deny it.

He noticed that upon the boy’s touch, a child’s face in the photo slowly beca clearer.

This group photo seed to be the key for the orphans to recall the past.

“Number Eleven and I died a long ti ago.

We were sent by Fu Tian into the Deep World’s Paradise, where we seed to have t Fu Sheng.

He allowed us to beco a part of Paradise.” After touching the group photo given to Han Fei by the painter, Number Four rembered a lot: “This mory Shrine belongs to Fu Sheng; everything operates according to Fu Sheng’s mories and consciousness.

Number Eleven and I have managed it for many years but could change nothing until you showed up.

Through repeated deaths, you leveraged destiny and turned Happiness Residential Community into a special place.”

“A special place?”

“This community was reshaped according to your mories.

With each death, you were gradually consud by Fu Sheng’s shrine, and your mories constantly rged.

You slowly lost yourself and beca part of the Shrine mory World, and a slow part of that rging is Happiness Residential Community.” Number Four laid on the ground: “The entire world belongs to Fu Sheng, but only Happiness Residential Community belongs to the orphans.

This is what you earned through ninety-nine deaths, and it’s the greatest help Number Eleven and I could give you.”

Han Fei risked losing all his mories, died over and over, and even sought out death.

While being devoured by the Shrine mory World, he also looked for ways to influence and change this world.

Fu Sheng wanted to be reborn in Han Fei’s body, while Han Fei intended to climb onto Fu Sheng’s shrine and look towards a distant place.

Having burned his bridges, Han Fei indeed won his gamble.

The Happiness Residential Community was no longer the one in Fu Sheng’s mories but had been altered by the combined efforts of three children from the Welfare Ho, incorporating the mories of Han Fei, Number Four, and Number Eleven.

“No wonder I felt sothing was off.

I clearly entered Fu Sheng’s mory World, and at the ti in Fu Sheng’s mories when I wasn’t even born, this community is full of traces I left behind.” Han Fei gradually understood, “With your cooperation, it seems Paradise has been changed.”

“Paradise is still the sa Paradise, it won’t change for many years.

The tragedy keeps repeating, only the children in Paradise are constantly changing.

In the end, we all beco re symbols, our entire lives nothing but a number in soone else’s mouth,” said the man dressed in Number Four’s clothes, lying on the ground.

His voice was young, but his words carried a maturity that did not match his age.

“I don’t quite understand what you’re saying,” Han Fei said, holding the Rebirth Saber.

He had no impression of Number Four, only recalling that the person was close with the painter from the Plastic Surgery Hospital.

“The original Happiness Residential Community was built to raise orphans.

The eleven apartnt buildings housed eleven different kinds of despair.

So many years have passed, and it remains a place where despair is nurtured.

The number of children went from eleven to thirty-one,” Blood oozed from Number Four’s mouth as the blood silk in his eyes writhed like tiny, frantic worms, “This body is the embodint of my childhood mories, but I never expected Dream to target .

You must be careful of it!

The Dream that existed alongside Fu Sheng in his ti has beco Unspeakable, and it’s the only Ghost that exists to this day.

It can even influence the Shrine World of Fu Sheng through the imprint it has left in his mories.

The eight Resurrection Ceremonies that Dream prepared for Fu Sheng have changed, and I suspect that its real target is you.”

“So, in this mory World, I need to be wary of Fu Sheng and especially careful of the Manager, Dream?”

“That’s right.

Dream was originally sealed by Fu Sheng in the Deep World, and it vowed to make Fu Sheng’s soul scatter, erasing all traces of his existence,” Number Four’s little body started to crack as his belly swelled slightly, “My childhood mory is about to collapse.

Once you enter Paradise, you can go find the real bodies of and Number Eleven.”

“Where are your real bodies in Paradise?”

“I am buried underground, my skin painted with children’s drawings.

Number Eleven is disguised as a tourist, and he will take the initiative to contact you.” The boy’s belly began to swell rapidly as he stared at the Rebirth Saber in Han Fei’s hand, throwing himself towards it, “After ninety-nine deaths, you’ve given up everything for this chance.

I hope you can make it through smoothly and not repeat the sa mistakes, tracing back Fu Sheng’s old paths.”

The dazzling light of the saber pierced through the boy’s stomach, from under his belly, a black insect cocoon engraved with Number Four’s cheek fell out.

This cocoon contained more Death Intent and despair than all the previous cocoons combined, and it seed the Monster inside was about to erge at any mont.

A cat paw pressed down on the cocoon, Chou Cat bent down, its nine Ghost Patterns extending through its fur and into the cocoon, devouring everything contained within.

After absorbing more and more cocoons, the Ghost Patterns glowed with vitality, and it was as if sothing within those nine patterns was eagerly calling for Han Fei, wanting to be intimately close to him.

“I’ve already destroyed three of Dream’s Resurrection Ceremonies, and now it’s ti to pick up the pace.

The longer it drags on, the more people in the city will die, and despair and negative emotions will continue to spread, strengthening the Ghost’s Power,” Han Fei did not want to be a Savior, but it seed he was the only one in the city who still cared about ordinary people’s lives and was willing to help them.

Han Fei pulled out the Rebirth Saber, the boy’s childhood mory dissipated, and no trace of him remained in the room.

The bedroom returned to normal, all the eerie sensations vanished, Han Fei left the room and found the old man.

He did not tell the old man that the boy had died but simply said that the boy was not in the room and might have escaped when the old man wasn’t looking.

Whether the old lady believed it or not was no longer important.

Number Four chose to collide with the Rebirth Saber himself, maybe deep down he also felt that only after he disappeared could the old woman truly find relief.

A cat’s ow carried through the air.

Having absorbed the power of the cocoon, Chou Cat was different from before, with glossy fur and sharp eyes.

It was no longer the sickly stray cat by the roadside.

It looked more like a pet kept by the God of Death, with a cold light shining from its eyes.

“Han Fei, that old lady didn’t give you a hard ti, did she?” Little Jia, who was standing guard downstairs, hurriedly greeted Han Fei as he ca out.

“Building Four has been cleared out, let’s hurry to the other apartnt buildings.” As they were heading to Building Five, Han Fei called Yan Le and his daughter over and stared at them for a long ti.

“What’s with that look?” The occupant of the brain was sowhat puzzled, “Are we possessed by a ghost?”

“I just think it’s too coincidental running into you guys, as if we were being guided by so kind of power,” Han Fei didn’t delve deeper into this issue, he turned to Yan Le, “Where is the closest Resurrection Ceremony to here?”

“Out of Happiness Residential Community and head west, there’s a big lake in the suburbs, the fourth ceremony is by the lake, and it seems to be linked to Water Monsters and Water Ghosts.”

“A lake?” Han Fei’s face was expressionless, but his mind was considering various things.

Around three in the afternoon, all the buildings of Happiness Residential Community had been cleared by Han Fei, and the citizens that had followed him began moving in.

With Han Fei there, everyone’s fear was slightly relieved, but Han Fei himself was furrowing his brows.

The conjoined monsters completely ford from despair that he had seen before had yet to appear.

The sky darkened again, and after the sun had set this ti, no one knew when it would rise again.

Happiness Residential Community was shrouded in darkness, and the residents didn’t dare to turn on the lights; they could only shut their doors and windows tightly and huddle together in one building.

“We still don’t have enough people.” Han Fei taught the players how to deal with Ghosts and Monsters and tasked Little You and her mother with guarding the entrance to the apartnt.

From last night until now, all the Ghosts and Monsters they had killed had eventually been swallowed by Little You’s mother.

Her form had swollen to several tis its original size, which within the atmosphere of grudge was quite a terrifying existence.

“I’m going to the West Suburb for a bit, and I’ll strive to return before midnight.

Protect everyone well,” he said.

Boarding a black taxi, Han Fei only took Li Guo’er, Yan Le, and a player who was a good swimr with him.

The player used to be a lifeguard and had invested all their points in physical strength, so they might be able to provide so help in a critical mont.

The big lake ntioned by Yan Le’s mother wasn’t far from Happiness Residential Community, and it only took Han Fei and his team about fifteen minutes to reach the place.

Oddly enough, as the black Spirit Car neared the lake, it turned into a small road leading away from the lake on its own accord, as if the nine victims inside were reluctant to get closer to the lake.

The sun set early, and the darkness, like a giant hand, blinded everyone’s eyes.

Headlights on, the Spirit Car drove hundreds of ters along the dirt road close to the big lake and finally stopped at the end of the road.

A neon sign emitting a cold light stood by the roadside, and there was a vacation town by the lake, but now it seed to be devoid of people.

“Was the fourth ceremony held in this town, or in the lake?” Han Fei didn’t get out of the car; instead, he vigilantly observed his surroundings.

“I’m not clear on the specifics, I only know it’s related to this lake.” Yan Le’s mother, controlling Yan Le’s body, moved her lips and paused for a long ti before saying, “Oh right, Dream gave this big lake a very special na, called ‘Brain Sea’.”

“Brain Sea?”

Han Fei nodded his head, shouldered his backpack, and pushed the car door open.

“Li Guo’er, stay in the car and be ready to support us at any ti.

Everyone else, follow .” Han Fei grabbed Yan Le’s shoulder, and the two walked forward side by side.

This vacation town wasn’t very big, having only a few buildings that seed to be half-constructed when the developer ran off.

“Hot Spring Hotel, Fishing Gear Rental Center, Boat Rental Center, Tourist Information Center, Fish Restaurant…”

Looking at the buildings on both sides of the road, Han Fei’s steps suddenly halted; his nostrils twitched, and he turned toward the Boat Rental Center.

“There’s a faint sll of blood inside, and the footprints on the ground are fresh.

The trampled weeds haven’t sprung back up yet; soone was just here.”

Han Fei approached quietly and reached out to open the door of the Boat Rental Center.

“Clack!”

A plate full of food fell to the floor, and a shadow darted out of the window into the darkness.

“Did you see that thing?” Han Fei was sowhat perplexed; the shadow that left just now wasn’t shaped like a human.

He took out a flashlight and shone it on the shattered plate, revealing a bloody piece of raw at that seed to have been torn off from an animal.

“The plate is labeled ‘Fish Restaurant,’ but this at is from so large mammal.” Han Fei picked up a piece of the broken plate and looked out the window, where the shadow had departed.

There were no footprints, only a trail of dragged weight marks.

“Are there no living people left in this vacation town?” Clutching the plate shards, Han Fei jumped out of the window and followed the trail on the ground to the back door of the Fish Restaurant.

“Watch our backs,” he warned the other two, as he gripped the Rebirth Saber and slowly opened the door, confronted by a pungent stench of rotten fish.

Knife in hand, Han Fei peered inside.

An old lady wearing rubber shoes and a headscarf was sitting in front of a huge freezer, her back to Han Fei, scraping fish scales in the dark with a specially made knife.

The kitchen’s freezer had long stopped working, and the massive amount of fish inside had gone bad, but the elderly woman continued her task as if she couldn’t sll the stench at all.

The rasping sound was constant, with fish scales scattered everywhere.
