357: Chapter 357: The Gate God’s Knife 357: Chapter 357: The Gate God’s Knife Back at his house, Han Fei checked every nook and cranny to ensure there were no issues, then he opened the Black Box he had retrieved from Zhuang Ren.

He ticulously examined each item and wrote down corresponding information on them.

Within the allowed scope of the Black Box, he recorded everything related to Butterfly.

If he died in the ga tonight, these items would certainly draw the attention of the police, and in this way, he would have exerted his last effort towards maintaining peace in Xinhu.

As he wrote, Han Fei suddenly had the unsettling feeling that often accompanies a person’s final words.

“Don’t think too much, no matter what, I must stir up trouble in Death Building tonight.

Sympathy for sothing like Butterfly is unnecessary.

Directly taking it down is already the greatest act of rcy I can offer.”

After handling his “affairs,” Han Fei silently stood by the window, looking out at the Smart District at the edge of Xinhu Old City District.

The skyscrapers stood tall at the horizon, like pillars holding up the heavens, breathtaking every ti he beheld them.

“I still haven’t lived in the Smart District, I really want to experience what it’s like to sleep among the clouds,” said Han Fei, who usually seed to desire nothing, but when it ca ti to enter the Deep World, he would crave the joys of the Mortal World.

Such joys weren’t even groundbreaking events, but more like ordinary and fragnted mories.

Ti flew by, and before midnight arrived, Han Fei was already lying inside the Ga Box, making his final preparations.

Last ti, he had exited the ga behind the door of Room 4044 where he was in the middle of a Grade F hidden task —— Soul Chaser.

He was faced with the Soul Chaser’s soul-reaping and had also provoked the Headless Gate God of Room 4044.

With danger ahead and behind, Han Fei was forced into a reluctant exit from the ga out of sheer despair.

Rembering the layout of the buildings around him when he logged off, Han Fei decided to imdiately run toward the end of the corridor once online.

He knew Room 4044 was crucial and Feng Ziyu might be inside, but what mattered was that he needed to be alive to enter Room 4044.

The door of the Ga Box slowly closed, and the virtual advertisent billboard that connected heaven and earth outside the window changed, the number “3” turned into “2”.

As midnight approached, Han Fei donned the gaming helt, and the world before his eyes beca shrouded in blood-red.

“Welco to Perfect Life!”

With his eyes open, Han Fei was ready to sprint forward, but when he saw what was in front of him, his raised foot froze midair, unable to move.

The Headless Gate God from Room 4044’s door was sitting cross-legged in front of him, bleeding all over, as though he had fallen asleep.

Scattered on the ground before him were human heads, each brutally molded into a fixed shape.

It seed these heads were chopped off by the Gate God, who wanted to mold them into the image he rembered.

But no matter how hard he tried, all he got in the end were vague, butchered spheres of flesh and blood.

“Is he a Door God or a God of Death?”

Fine Blood Silk was remaining on the heads of the Lonely Ghosts, one end burrowed into the heads, the other connected to the body of the Headless Door God.

The crisscrossing Blood Silk sealed off the corridor; anyone entering would certainly be detected by the Gate God.

“How am I supposed to run away?”

There was no path; even a slight movent could touch the Blood Silk, and Han Fei was sweating with anxiety.

In this critical mont, Han Fei’s Luck Value failed to show its effects; the sound of bells rang out from the end of the corridor.

The clanging of the Soul Bell was hit, sothing broke through the Blood Silk in the corridor and charged towards Han Fei.

Glancing at the task panel, Han Fei found he was still in the middle of the Soul Chaser task!

There were only three minutes left until the end of the task!

The dedicated Soul Chaser had not let him go, and just like the Gate God, he had been lying in wait for him all this ti!

The Blood Silk was torn apart, and one by one the heads opened their eyes, emanating a vicious gaze from their blurry flesh-ridden sockets as an overwhelmingly terrifying and oppressive aura gathered in front of room 4044.

“The Headless Gate God is about to awaken!”

It was bad enough to have leaks during a continuous downpour, but Han Fei faced what was akin to a teor shower; he watched as the blood on the Headless Gate God began to flow backwards, and one after another the heads scread as they charged towards him.

Anyone else might have died of fright at this scene, but Han Fei managed to stay rational, protecting his own head, even thinking about lighting a cigarette.

His brain calculated carefully; there was no ti to light up now, he had to choose between the Soul Chaser and the Headless Gate God.

It was not about choosing who would kill him, but about which one he should run towards to increase his chances of surviving a bit more.

After racking his brains, Han Fei’s body reacted first, darting forward, colliding with those heads.

Intense pain surged through his body, and black bite marks erged on his skin; perhaps due to his frequent close encounters with Big Evil, the maliciousness contained within the bite marks did not spread quickly.

As the Blood Silk snapped, the headless Gate God stood up, dragging out a huge Beheading Saber from room 4044.

Without any unnecessary words, the Gate God lifted the blade with both hands and slashed directly at Han Fei’s neck.

Disturbed by those heads, there was no way Han Fei could dodge this blow even under normal circumstances.

“I know where your head is hidden!”

As if possessed by a spirit, Han Fei instinctively shouted out in a mont of crisis.

The view before his eyes was filled by the huge Beheading Saber, his breathing had completely stopped, and the blade lood larger and larger in his vision until it halted above his forehead.

A few strands of black hair fell, Han Fei’s legs gave out, feeling as if he had already been half-dragged away by the God of Death in that instant.

“Your head is hidden in a special place, unreachable by normal ans, only through room 4444 can one get to that place!” Each word from Han Fei was true; he knew that the Headless Gate God couldn’t possibly run into reality, which was why he dared to tell the truth.

The Headless Gate God’s blade paused, but the Soul Chaser did not let Han Fei off.

In that mont, Han Fei desperately attempted to persuade the Headless Gate God, having no energy left to worry about the Soul Chaser, feeling sothing nearing from behind, an extre sense of danger like a blade poised to pierce his heart.

As Han Fei hesitated whether to turn around or not, the Beheading Saber suspended above his head suddenly whipped thousands of Blood Silks, cutting towards sothing behind him.

The Gate God’s blade seed to have struck sothing, and Han Fei seized the opportunity to glance behind.

Upon the third look back, Han Fei saw soone clad in Blood Clothes forcibly pulling another self out from his back.

The Blood Clothes were slashed open, revealing skin covered in Death Spells, its movents slowed, dragging an expressionless Han Fei disappearing into the corridor.

“What did it take from ?

Was that my soul?”

Touching his body, Han Fei struggled to describe the fear – he had beco incomplete without realizing, and what was more terrifying was that he hadn’t noticed what he had lost.

“I still haven’t seen the Soul Chaser’s face, but now I can be sure he is male, his build indeed matches that of the Eternal Life Pharmaceutical employee who went mad years ago!”

With only the final two minutes left for the Soul Chaser task, Han Fei also only had two chances left to look back.

The Gate God’s blade had not killed the opponent directly, which angered the Headless Gate God.

Its body shifted slowly, and at this mont, the sound of the Soul Bell echoed again in the corridor.
