181: Chapter 181 The World in Jin Sheng’s Eyes 181: Chapter 181 The World in Jin Sheng’s Eyes He opened his eyes to find darkness all around, with the lingering scent of disinfectant in the air and what felt like pills scattered beneath him.
“Am I inside a cabinet in the infirmary?”
Han Fei had seen this scene before in Jin Sheng’s howork notebook; he felt around and slowly pushed open the cabinet door.
The dim light shone on Han Fei’s face, and the world outside the cabinet seed covered in a layer of gray mist, making everything unclear.
Climbing out of the infirmary’s cabinet, Han Fei didn’t dare to move recklessly; he first opened the Attribute Panel.
The Ga Exit Key had turned gray, and next to his character ID, it showed that he was in a special state.
“Last ti I did the Manager’s task, this happened too, so I must be in Jin Sheng’s mories now.”
In the Manager’s tasks, dying didn’t carry the penalty of death, but with each death, mories would be lost until eventually, one would forget oneself completely.
Han Fei hadn’t planned on undertaking the Manager’s task so soon, but he had no other choice.
Ma Manjiang was right outside, and even a second’s hesitation would lead to being caught by him.
“I must be cautious this ti.”
With a soft sigh, Han Fei smashed a cup on the table.
He picked up a fragnt and carved his own na into his arm.
The pain made Han Fei clench his teeth, and his gaze gradually turned icy.
“Rember the pain, rember myself, and strive to clear the level in one life.”
Looking around the infirmary, the clock on the wall was frozen at 1:05.
This ti must be very important to Jin Sheng, a ti he could never forget.
After closing the cabinet door, Han Fei quickly searched the infirmary.
From his previous experience, he knew he absolutely could not stay in one place for too long.
After a brief search, he imdiately went to the door of the infirmary.
As he pushed open the room’s door, the system’s voice echoed in his mind.
“Player number 0000, please take note!
You need to find Jin Sheng in this school!”
Each Manager’s task differs, with the Building Chief Manager’s task requiring Han Fei to kill all the ghosts in the room and save all the people, whereas the School Manager’s task only requires him to find Jin Sheng.
“No matter how many tis I die, as long as I can find Jin Sheng, that would be sufficient?”
Gently nudging the door panel, the mont the door opened, Han Fei abruptly retreated several steps.
The previous Manager’s task had left him with deep psychological scars; with kill-triggers behind every door and Fierce Ghosts omnipresent, each step he took filled him with dread for a long ti.
A faint mist drifted into the room, and the faint sound of children’s singing could be heard coming from the corridor.
He stealthily stepped out of the infirmary, looking out into the corridor.
The Yimin Private Academy in Jin Sheng’s mories was identical to the real school, the only difference being the omnipresent grey mist.
His world seed enveloped by this layer of mist, and although it was just like everyone else’s world, there was an indescribable feeling of suffocation.
“Jin Sheng lived under such oppression?”
Upon stepping out of the room, Han Fei heard footsteps and followed the sound to see a man, nearly three ters tall, approaching from the other end of the corridor.
The man had no eyes, with two smaller mouths where his eye sockets should be.
He was shirtless, with a large opening in his stomach, harboring different faces within.
So faces were well-featured, with kind and benevolent smiles; others were filled with desire, harboring malice and madness.
What frightened Han Fei even more was that at the heart of this monster, there perched a butterfly.
Its eerie blue hue clashed with this world.
“Ma Manjiang!”
When Han Fei triggered the Manager’s task, he clearly saw the blue butterfly fly out from Ma Manjiang’s body, as if it had followed him into Jin Sheng’s mory World.
Cold sweat slid down his forehead, and Han Fei felt the pressure mounting.
He now had to face not only the Fierce Ghost in the Manager’s task but also that ominous blue butterfly.
“The faces inside the monster’s belly look a lot like Ma Manjiang; this monster must be the Ma Manjiang from Jin Sheng’s mories.”
Han Fei didn’t know why Ma Manjiang in Jin Sheng’s mories would look like this, but he knew the butterfly had followed him into Jin Sheng’s mories and latched onto Ma Manjiang there.
The presence of two Outsiders in Jin Sheng’s mory World filled this Manager’s task with unpredictability!
“The other party’s target is clear, they’re coming for the infirmary, and that butterfly is manipulating Ma Manjiang inside Jin Sheng’s mories.
It wants to kill within Jin Sheng’s mories!”
Dying in a Manager’s task carried no punishnt, but one would lose mories.
If one died too often, they could forget everything and be trapped in mories forever.
At the sa mont Han Fei noticed Ma Manjiang, the monster saw Han Fei.
It reached inside its stomach and pulled out a resentful face, pressing it against its chest, then, like a mad thing, it charged towards Han Fei!
“The rules are the sa, if I can kill Ma Manjiang here, the mories of that blue butterfly should also be damaged.”
Ma Manjiang was the most terrifying figure in Jin Sheng’s mory, and the Butterfly had taken a clear lead, but Han Fei wasn’t going to give up.
“I’m no match for the Butterfly in a fair fight, but if I can drag it down with , that’s a win.”
Han Fei’s eyes were icy, tonight would be the most dangerous night he’d spent in the ga.
With no Building Chief to protect him, and no neighbors to aid him, he faced the Butterfly on his own for the first ti.
Ma Manjiang, nearly three ters tall and beast-like, moved on all fours through the corridors with incredible speed, closing the distance between it and Han Fei bit by bit.
“I’m surely dood if I encounter this thing in the hallway.
To hold it off, I can only rely on the Fierce Ghost from within the Manager’s task!”
Using that tactic of leveraging one force against another, Han Fei skillfully made no hesitation and dashed directly towards the other end of the corridor, where the faint sound of a child’s singing could be heard.
Passing through the corridor, Han Fei reached the source of the singing and kicked open the door of the classroom.
In the small classroom, several students without ears sang an eerie song.
At that mont, Han Fei couldn’t concern himself with pondering why the students in Jin Sheng’s mory looked like this; he shouted into the room that a monster was approaching.
All of the earless students turned towards Han Fei, their eye sockets filled with blood, but devoid of eyeballs.
The monster was behind him, yet the students inside continued to sing rrily, completely indifferent to what Han Fei was saying.
Ma Manjiang had closed the distance and, upon passing the classroom door, tore off the face on its chest and took a kind and benevolent face from its belly to replace it.
Seeing Ma Manjiang, the students in the room were not scared but instead followed it, joining the chase after Han Fei!
“Have those guys gone mad?!”
Han Fei ran desperately, slowly understanding why the students in Jin Sheng’s mory looked like that.
Without ears, they couldn’t heed Jin Sheng’s warnings.
Blind even though they had eyes, thus deceived by Ma Manjiang, becoming accomplices to the monster.
“The entire school is shrouded in a fog of gray; everyone has morphed into monsters.
Am I now experiencing the sa despair Jin Sheng once did?”
“Do I have to find a way to survive, amidst a similar despair?”
