"So, Astrid, what’s your favorite color?" Lily asked.
"Um, black, but I like blue as well."
Since Astrid was currently dressed in a beautiful goth-styled dress, it was expected that she would like the color of her dress.
"Um, what about you, Lily?" Astrid asked.
Since the two of them had gotten a bit closer now, Lily had asked Astrid to call her Lily as a way of establishing their friendship.
For a princess who had been alone for the most part of her life because there was no one around her age that she could play with, Astrid was pleased to be acknowledged as Lily’s friend because it was the first ti anyone had ever done so.
Yes, Lily might be a lot younger than her, but Astrid was glad to have soone like Lily acknowledge her as a friend, and this caused even more conflict in Astrid’s mind because she kept wondering if she should remain focused on her mission or simply spend ti with her new best friend.
After all, wasn’t the whole point of having a friend, to have soone you could spend a lot of ti with?
Moreover, wasn’t it normal to know more about your friend by spending ti with them?
’Yes, that’s it.’
’That’s what I’ll do.’
’They are actually the sa thing. This way, I can still fulfill my mission while having fun with my first friend.’ Astrid happily praised herself for coming up with such an idea.
Then she realized that Lily was talking and she listened to what she had to say.
"I like pink, but I also like yellow."
Astrid nodded in response but to her surprise, Vivian was interested in their silly discussion as well.
"Aw, what about , sweetie? Is no one going to ask what my favorite color is?"
Lily giggled and Astrid couldn’t help but smile as well.
Ever since the tea party had started, Vivian’s calm and relaxing deanor had been completely different from what Astrid had expected.
Since they were no longer in a place filled with hundreds and thousands of demons, Astrid thought she would be able to see the true nature of the demon queen.
She had expected Vivian to be a lot stricter and scarier, but so far, the Dragon Queen had been the coolest demon she had ever spent ti with, especially with how smooth she blended in with them despite being a lot older than she and Lily.
"Okay Mama, so what’s your favorite color?"
"Hmm, let Mama think for a minute." Vivian placed a finger on her lower lip as she pretended to think over it for a whole minute.
"I like red." Vivian smiled as she replied simply.
"Well, duh. You have red hair, and you’re wearing a red dress; anyone could have easily guessed your favorite color." Lily replied with a giggle.
"Oops, I guess you’re right, dear." Vivian giggled as well and Astrid couldn’t help but smile as she watched the duo in front of her.
Watching them closely, Astrid noticed that Lily wasn’t afraid to look her mother in the eye while talking.
Lily had been doing this since the mont Astrid arrived and Astrid couldn’t help but feel a little jealous about it.
Unlike Lily, Astrid couldn’t rember the last ti she had looked her mother in the eye while talking to her and she wondered if a ti would ever co when she and her mother would talk while looking at each other.
While she was thinking of this, Lily suddenly called out to her.
"Astrid?"
"Yes, Lily?"
"I have a question about Frost Demons, may I ask?"
"Yes, you can. What is it?"
"Since you’re a Frost Demon, does that an there are other Frost Demons like you?"
Vivian had told Lily that Dragons were extrely rare and that she and Aster were the last of their kind, so the little princess wondered if Frost Demons were rare as well.
"Yes, back in my kingdom, there are hundreds and thousands of Frost Demons."
"Wow, can they all use snow magic as well?"
"Um, I think so can while others can use ice magic."
"Whoa, but you can use both, right?" Lily asked with sparkling eyes.
Seeing this, Astrid smiled and nodded. "Yes, I can."
"Wow, so that ans you’re really strong, right?"
"Um, I guess so?"
"So you’re strong, pretty, and amazing at the sa ti. I’m so jealous, Astrid."
"Ufufufu... my little dragon is right, because it’s rare to see a genius like Astrid who’s also pretty," Vivian added with a chuckle and Astrid’s cheeks turned crimson as she grabbed her mug to hide her shy smile behind it.
"I-I’m really not that pretty," Astrid muttered inaudibly but she was still smiling because it was the first ti she had received such a complint from soone.
"Oh, that reminds ." Lily suddenly recalled sothing.
"What is it?" Astrid asked.
She was slowly getting used to talking to Lily now, so she felt more comfortable and happy while talking to the dragon princess.
"You said so Frost Demons can cast snow magic, right?"
"Yes."
"Does that an so of them sleep in the snow instead of using a bed?"
"Um, I believe most Frost Demons do not like sleeping on the snow because it would be very uncomfortable."
"But I thought the cold wouldn’t affect them?"
"Yes, you’re right, but it would still be uncomfortable for anyone to sleep on it."
"Ohh, I guess you’re right. So, does that an they sleep on their beds instead?"
"Yes."
"Aw, that’s a sha. I thought they could create huge snow and sleep on it like a big, soft, and fluffy bed." Lily drew a big imaginary circle as she imagined the frost demons sleeping on a big fluffy, cloud-like bed made out of snow.
Astrid giggled but Lily suddenly realized sothing.
"Um, Astrid. Can you show your snow magic now? Just a little? Please?" Lily asked, but Astrid hesitated.
Of course, she wanted to show Lily right away because Lily was now her first and only friend, and Astrid really wanted to make her friend happy. But she was currently a guest in the Dragon Queen’s castle, and she was thinking that it would be disrespectful of her to suddenly use magic in Vivian’s house without seeking permission first.
Astrid glanced in Vivian’s direction first, because back at the Belphegor castle, using magic at the table without direct permission would have prompted the head maid to scold her. So Astrid wondered if Vivian was against it or not.
