Capítulo 528: Chapter 13 Request_2

Considering that Qiao Shan was pregnant, Lin Xiaoguai put a lot of thought into the wedding preparations. It couldn’t be too simple, lest outsiders think the Shen Family didn’t value their daughter-in-law, nor could it be too complicated and tire out the bride.

The couple’s wedding was arguably the grandest event the Shen Family had orchestrated in years. Everyone showed great respect, and with the Qiao Family’s relatives and friends, there were almost eighty tables on the wedding day, keeping Lin Xiaoguai, along with helpers Zheng Cuicui and Han Shouzhen, extrely busy.

This was also because, besides Lin Xiaoguai, the Shen Family had no other mistress to take charge, which made it all the more exhausting.

On the day, as the bride and groom, Shen Yinian and Qiao Shan certainly stood out. Their suits and wedding dresses were personally tailored by Lin Xiaoguai, as were the jewelry and even their wedding rings, all provided by her.

The set of Imperial Green Jade jewelry that Qiao Shan wore made the female guests green with envy, and the various exquisite pieces she changed into later had many inquiring Lin Xiaoguai if her gift shop sold jewelry of the sa caliber.

Qiao Yuanting and Luo ng were astonished by the Shen Family’s lavishness, but it also sowhat alleviated their worries about their daughter.

The jewelry the bride wore today amounted to a dowry from the in-laws, which was not ant to be taken back.

The Shen Family treating their daughter this way showed they valued their daughter-in-law greatly.

After Shen Yinian got married, Lin Xiaoguai decided to let him pick a villa in Zhi Xin Garden. At first, both were reluctant—

“Mom, are you trying to send away?” Shen Yinian frowned.

Qiao Shan nodded as well, “Exactly, Mom, it’s fine for us to live with you.” Her words were not out of courtesy; her in-laws were not difficult to get along with, unlike her own parents who always wanted to ddle in the younger generation’s business. She adapted quickly to the Shen Family, finding it more comfortable than her own ho, especially since she was pregnant—her mother-in-law cooked for her daily, making her worry that she might beco too spoiled to eat regular als once the child was born.

“Giving you a house doesn’t an you have to move out.” Lin Xiaoguai reassured them with a smile, “This has been prepared for a long ti. Each of you siblings, along with Nuonuo, Ping’an, and Nannan, will have a villa to yourselves. For Nuonuo, who got married before you, didn’t I also let her pick one to take to the Yu Family as part of her dowry? Once everyone has chosen theirs, I plan to auction off the remaining villas for charity.”

Zhi Xin Garden’s apartnt buildings had been sold a year ago, but the villas were never offered for sale publicly.

“This villa is yours; you may move there if you wish or just enjoy a world of two from ti to ti. It’s all up to you.”

Shen Yinian pondered and realized that indeed, his cousin also received a villa amongst a trove of jewelry for her wedding. But Yaya…

His expression paused; yes, Yaya’s situation was different. It was already good that she was willing to accept a four-bedroom, two-living-room apartnt.

“Alright then.”

The young couple discussed it and finally chose a two-story villa with 200 square ters of living space that included an attic and a rooftop garden.

Just as the Shen Family eagerly awaited the birth of their grandchild, Shen Yinian received a transfer order to the Navy.

“Report to Guang City next month?” Lin Xiaoguai’s eyes widened, “What about Shanshan? It’s still several months before she can give birth.”

“Mom.” Shen Chi touched his nose, “Actually, I anticipated this, and Shanshan and I have already discussed it. I’ll go to the military base, and she’ll stay at ho.”

Lin Xiaoguai frowned at her daughter-in-law, “Shanshan, is what he’s saying true?”

Qiao Shan nodded, “Yinian’s career often requires living apart; I’ve been ntally prepared for this. Don’t worry, Mom, I have no complaints.”

“But you newlyweds…” Lin Xiaoguai glared disapprovingly at her son, “You don’t plan to be like your father and miss your son’s birth, do you?”

Shen Chi, caught in the crossfire, stayed silent and switched to another channel to continue watching the news.

“Couldn’t you turn off the TV first?” Lin Xiaoguai complained sowhat irritably.

Shen Chi silently turned off the TV and sat beside her, “The nature of a soldier’s duty is unavoidable.”

Lin Xiaoguai glared at him, “I understand that, of course, but you can’t just live apart imdiately after getting married. At least wait until the child is born.” Relationships require nurturing, and she truly worried that constant separation would lead to a cooling of marital affection.

“Mom, I know what you’re worried about, but it’s really not necessary. Yinian and I have been dating for two years; we have a solid emotional foundation. The issues you’re concerned about won’t happen to us,” Qiao Shan assured her.

“Yeah, Mom. Besides, going to the base now isn’t the sa as when Dad did. Family visits are more flexible now; I’ll try to be back for the birth of our child. I won’t stay in Guang City forever, at most three to five years before I arrange to be transferred back to the Capital. Then we can all be together,” Shen Yinian quickly added.

Lin Xiaoguai was sowhat persuaded, but still a bit downcast.

Yet Shen Yinian brought up another matter, looking to Shen Chi, “Dad, I have a request.”

Qiao Shan was startled and then frowned, subtly shaking her head at Shen Yinian. Noticing he paid her no mind, her expression grew anxious.

“What is it?” Shen Chi raised an eyebrow.

“After I go to Guang City, could you transfer my inherited shares of the property to Shanshan to manage?” Shen Yinian asked, pursing his lips.

Qiao Shan bowed her head, it was over—how could Yinian make such a direct request? Would her parents-in-law misunderstand that she had encouraged Yinian to ask them for things? (To be continued.
