190: Chapter 19 Peeping_2 190: Chapter 19 Peeping_2 “Slls so good, Little Niangao, what is this?” Taotao hurried over with a look of eagerness.

He reached out to grab so, but Little Niangao slapped his hand away with a smack, “Go wash your hands first!”

After the three kids washed their hands, Little Niangao pointed at the braised dishes on the plate, “Six slices of beef, we each get two slices, and there are four chicken feet, I’ll eat two, and each of you can have one.” He certainly wouldn’t admit that he had already eaten a piece of beef in the kitchen.

“But Little Niangao, aren’t you eating one more chicken foot than us?” Taotao said, dissatisfied.

“Who said that this is made by my mom?” Little Niangao said proudly, “If your mom made it, you could also eat more than us.” However, he thought to himself that Taotao’s mom was so stingy; she definitely wouldn’t be willing to spare at for and Brother Junzi.

“But Little Niangao, you are so small, can you really manage to eat two chicken feet?” Brother Junzi frowned and also expressed his displeasure.

Looking at the glistening chicken feet on the plate, he swallowed hard, wishing he could eat just one more.

“I can eat them.” Little Niangao unapologetically stuffed two slices of beef into his mouth, then grabbed a chicken foot with one hand.

Dad always said, you could eat anything, just not a loss.

Besides, Brother Junzi’s family rarely ate at, and Taotao’s mom was stingy.

Considering he was willing to share his at with them, he was very generous indeed.

Brother Junzi and Taotao had no idea about his smug self-praise.

Seeing him start eating, they couldn’t resist any longer and quickly snatched up their respective shares.

“Little Niangao, your mom is so nice, cooking you at every day.”

“Seriously, and it tastes so good, way better than the food my mom makes.”

Brother Junzi and Taotao expressed their envy one after the other.

Little Niangao was even more pleased and lifted his chin, “Of course, my mom is the best mom in the world.”

When Shen Chi returned, he saw the three kids playing in the yard, having caused quite a ss in the vegetable garden.

“Where’s mom?” How co his wife hadn’t taken care of them?

“Mom is making us buns and at.” Little Niangao exclaid excitedly.

Shen Chi, however, didn’t feel happy at all when he heard this.

How could he be happy with his wife not around?

Capital University’s registration started in three days, and Lin Xiaoguai went on the first day.

Unlike later tis, it wasn’t necessary to run all over the school to register; she was done in half an hour.

She then visited the dormitory to check on things and decided what to bring before heading back.

Getting off the public bus, Lin Xiaoguai didn’t dally and hurried ho.

As she turned the corner, she saw an old man standing at her doorstep, peering into the yard.

“Old sir, do you need sothing?”

Lin Xiaoguai’s sudden words startled Han Kuang, making him take several steps back, “Why don’t you make any noise when you walk?”

Lin Xiaoguai felt a bit innocent; she hadn’t practiced any stealth walking, had she?

Han Kuang realized it was his own distraction that had caused him not to hear, and after clearing his throat twice, he said, “Young lady, do you live here too?”

Lin Xiaoguai pointed at her house and said, “I live right here.” It was not that she had no sense of wariness, but the elderly man before her had a noble deanor, not at all like soone with malicious intent.

Han Kuang’s eyes widened slightly, but he maintained his composure and asked, “Then do you know Shen Chi?”

“I’m his wife, is there sothing you need from him?” Lin Xiaoguai inquired.

“No, I was just passing by on a walk and heard that Shen Chi had moved in, so I just took a look,” Han Kuang hurriedly replied.

Lin Xiaoguai found it a bit odd, but before she could ask anything more, the old man had already walked off briskly.

She dismissed this as a minor incident and didn’t tell Shen Chi.

After dinner, realizing they were running out of soy sauce, Lin Xiaoguai suggested that Shen Chi accompany her to the military region’s grocery store to purchase more.

Little Niangao, engrossed in watching a cartoon, stayed at ho.

“Co back, co back; Shoulu will see us if we’re not careful.” Han Shouxin forcefully pulled Han Kuang back, not allowing him to go forward.

Struggling to push him away, Han Kuang said urgently, “Don’t pull ; how can I see clearly if I don’t get a little closer in the dark?”

“It’ll be even worse if we are seen.” Han Shouxin was sweating with anxiety.

“I’ll just go a little closer, just a tiny bit,” Han Kuang bargained.

“Crap!” Seeing Shen Chi suddenly look back, Han Shouxin jerked Han Kuang back toward him.

“What’s wrong?” Lin Xiaoguai asked Shen Chi.

“Nothing,” Shen Chi shook his head, thinking he must have heard wrong.

It can’t be that Han Shouxin would appear here.

Phew—

Both Han Kuang and Han Shouxin breathed a sigh of relief.

That was really scary.

“I told you not to go forward,” Han Shouxin glared at him.

Han Kuang also felt aggrieved, “I didn’t even get a chance to see what he looks like.”

Han Shouxin was speechless and could only continue to accompany him in his spying.

It was only after the couple erged from the grocery store that Han Kuang, who had been waiting since the morning, finally got a clear view of Shen Chi’s face in the light.

“Let’s go; the person is out of sight…” Han Shouxin turned his head to speak but stopped midway, looking at Han Kuang in shock as tears stread down his face.

“Father?” he called out tentatively.

Jolted out of his stupor, Han Kuang, realizing his embarrassing behavior, quickly wiped his face and stubbornly said, “The wind is too strong; my eyes got irritated.” Without waiting for Han Shouxin to respond, he quickly walked away.

Crying in front of his son, he felt utterly mortified.

Along the way, Han Kuang seed to regain his usual deanor, and Han Shouxin turned his head several tis, but couldn’t notice anything.

Once alone, Han Kuang took out an old photo, his voice hoarse as he murmured, “Fang Wei, I saw Shoulu.

He looks a lot like when I was young.

He was so small back then; how did he get so tall?”

“Do you think I’m a bastard?

Would he refuse to acknowledge as his father if he knew what I’ve done?”

“Fang Wei, are you angry with too?”

He had always thought he didn’t care about this son, but the shock of seeing the child who closely resembled his younger self was sothing he hadn’t anticipated.

That was his son, his and Fang Wei’s son.

He had never been so acutely aware of this fact.
