In the depths of Hell, the demon-summoning magic circle had always been a coveted gateway. For demons, it was more than a chance to escape the confines. It served as the opportunity for greater power because a contract with mortals ant more than temporary freedom.
On most occasions, the demon-summoning magic circles were ordinary, little more than flickers of temptation for lesser demons. But on this particular day, sothing super extraordinary happened. Out of nowhere, a grand demon summoning a magic circle of incredible magnitude and complexity appeared. Its runes glowed with an imnse power and temptation that rippled through the Hell.
Its appearance was unlike anything any demon had seen in millennia. It radiated an aura of a powerful soul, offering sothing beyond comprehension.
The summoning ritual wasn’t just calling. It beckoned them to answer the summoner’s call. The lesser demons were the first to make their moves, scrambling from the dark corners of Hell, desperate to be the ones to answer the summons. However, as the power of the demon-summoning magic circle continued to pulse, more dangerous entities joined the competition.
High-rank demons of terrifying strength, noble devils of aristocratic bloodlines, and ancient demons of unknown depths flew out of their territories. All sought the glory, desperate to grab the opportunity because the summoning ritual was obviously a legendary contract.
The scramble beca violent instantly. Infernal demonic beasts clashed in the hellish sky. Demons turned on each other, fangs and claws tearing through flesh in a brutal fight for dominance.
Firestorms of hellish magic erupted across the battlefield, reducing hundreds of lesser demons to ashes. The noble devils fought with refined cruelty, manipulating dark magic to crush their competitors with disdain. It was a chaotic warzone, all for the right to seize this singular opportunity.
Just as the fray reached its peak, the battle was interrupted by two overwhelming presences. All the demons in the vicinity paused, frozen in shock and terror as two of the six Demon Kings of Hell arrived at the scene.
One was the Demon King of Greed, a towering, fiery figure, with eyes that burned like twin suns and a body that could topple a mountain with ease.
The other was the Demon Queen of Envy, a dark beauty of insidious power. She wielded magic that twisted the mind, body, and soul. Even shadows bent to her will. She was also renowned for her envious nature which allowed her to steal the power and life force of others.
With the arrival of these two titans, the battle took on a new form. The lesser demons, and even the noble devils, scattered like insects before the two supre overlords.
They knew they stood no chance in the face of the Demon King of Hell. What had once been a chaotic brawl was now a deadly showdown between two of Hell’s most powerful demons.
"How chaotic. Thankfully, Wrath and Pride have ford a contract and can’t answer this srizing summon. Greed, I shall take this one, so back off while I’m still being nice." Envy put her hand to her cheek, fascinated by the temptation of what the demon-summoning magic circle would offer.
Greed replied with an absolute silence. He struck first, unleashing a torrent of fire that roared across the battlefield. It served as a distraction, the cover to ensure he would be the one to grab the opportunity. He flew up like a hellfire cot, aiming at the gateway without further ado.
But Envy was cunning. She didn’t et Greed’s strength with brute force. Instead, she weaved illusions and shadows, tricking Greed into striking at nothing and aiming at empty air.
Their battle for the demon-summoning magic circle soon shook the Hell, a fight that could be felt across that infernal dinsion.
Since it wouldn’t bring them anywhere and the demon summoning ritual might disappear once the victor would be concluded, Greed chose to shield his body with multi-layer protection and flew straight to the demon summoning magic circle, ignoring everything else.
He tore down the illusions and any obstacles that Envy placed to prevent his advance. He managed to reach the demon-summoning magic circle, grabbing the opportunity. His massive hand passed the gateway, and he smirked at Envy as if he mocked her. "Fool!"
"No, you’re the foolish one here." Envy activated the hidden teleportation magic in the air, pulling Greed into the spatial vortex.
"!!!" Greed felt he got pulled down with trendous force.
During the movent through the gateway summons, his power would be adjusted to follow the mortal world’s laws. Therefore, he lost his abyssal divine power of Hell. The lack of strength and resistance caused him to lose the opportunity even though it was right in his grasp.
He resisted fiercely because the opportunity was right in his grasp, but Envy appeared to pull his arm out of the gateway and throw him into the spatial vortex.
"I shall make you pay for this soday, witch!" Greed roared in anger, causing the ground and mountains to shake.
Sadly, it beca his last words before he got thrown into the godforsaken, distant land.
The Demon Queen of Envy stood alone. Her dark violet eyes glead with satisfaction. With a slow, deliberate step, she approached the glowing runes of the demon-summoning magic circle. Her heart filled with anticipation.
The contract would be hers, and with it, the summoner’s powerful, delicious soul would beco her possession. She flew out and grabbed her opportunity, vanishing into the gateway portal.
Unfortunately, the excitent soon died down when she realized the calamity would soon strike her. It was the Caelum World instead of the other place. The summoner was so foolish to summon a Great Demon King of Hell in this world!
The summoner would be punished and reduced to a lowly slave, and the summoned demon would be painfully kicked back to Hell. However, that didn’t an she had no trick up her sleeve to outwit such a predicant. Regardless, she was still required to form the contract before anything else.
"You dare summon in this wretched world, little fox? I shall give you a chance. Submit your soul to right now. I shall fulfill your wishes and ensure you’re safe from the sky’s punishnt." Envy urged for a swift contract. The nine-tailed shadow fox who summoned her possessed a srizing beauty, and she liked her summoner already.
"Thank you for answering my call, Demon Queen of Envy. Please make a work contract with ." Elysia offered a magic contract to the Demon King of Envy.
"As the price for summoning , I shall take your soul." Envy pushed aside the stupid magic contract, demanding the summoner’s soul instead.
"How dare you to ignore Ely’s magic contract?" Zera grabbed the Demon Queen of Envy by the shoulder from behind, pushing the arrogant demon to one’s knees.
"Uh-huh?" Envy was flabbergasted as to how soone could push her down with ease. She couldn’t even fight back!
*Rumble!*
The sky was furious. The punishnt fell from the sky, and the thunder tribulation of annihilation also descended upon the one who summoned the Great Demon of Hell.
Elysia was struck by the lightning of annihilation, but it couldn’t hurt her. She felt a tingling sensation on her neck, and a slave seal was engraved to her skin and it began to seal her power.
Unfortunately, it was far from enough to seal her. She inspected it in more depth, then removed the slave seal from her neck.
"It’s too late..." Envy sighed. She would be kicked to Hell soon, but to her surprise, the nine-tailed shadow fox suddenly walked over, took off the slave seal as if it was just an accessory necklace, and put it on her neck. "Eh-huh?"
"I’m doing it for the world’s good. So, please don’t be angry, or you will force to call your boss here." Elysia raised her hand to the sky.
"..." The sky remained silent. The violent storm clouds began to disperse as if the fury of the sky had subsided.
"Hey, what just happened? What did you do to ? Why did the slave seal bestowed by the sky punishnt of this world fall on ?!" Envy voiced her confusion in a great grievance.
"Here, please read the contract. Work for us for sothing and we shall release you afterwards." Elysia picked up the magic contract and handed it over to the kneeling Demon Queen.
[Envy (FV: 6586) | Demon Queen of Envy | 10th Rank Peak Stage]
[Favorability: 20%]
[Talent: 5 Stars | UR]
Elysia checked the other party’s status screen briefly. She felt the Demon Queen of Envy possessed greater power beyond the mortal world’s power rank, similar to divinity, but it got sealed and restricted by the mortal world’s laws.
"What’s the aning of this?!" Envy snapped furiously. She felt that she fell into a scam, a trap from which she would gain nothing.
She was one of the Great Demon Kings of Hell, and it was she who should make the conditions, not the other way around!
Although she had no idea how these mortals could pass the slave seal to her, she had to put them in their places imdiately.
*Rumble!*
Elena, Ai, and Zera exuded their overbearing aura far beyond a re Great Demon King of Hell.
"Erm, we can still talk it out..." Envy broke in a cold sweat. Apparently, it wasn’t a bunch of mortals, but a group of Deities. They deliberately summoned a Great Demon King of Hell to do sothing for them.
Since there was no way out, she humbled herself and ford the magic contract with a heavy heart. She then fled from the scene right away because the slave seal would serve as a marker, the prey to be hunted. Even though it couldn’t properly seal her demonic power, it would still be super troubleso to deal with countless hunters.
"What was that? A marked map and gift box?" Elena asked curiously.
"Yup. She will cause great trouble for the Silver Heretic very soon. The heretics will gather for a secret eting periodically every full moon, and that is next week. We should repay their kindness in kind, right? Hehe~" Elysia replied with a wink.
"O-oh~" Elena dropped her fist onto her open plan.
They would bestow those heretics with their own dicine. Once the sky labeled them as the violators, those heretics would receive the slave seal and lose their rights as people, like the evil sche they carried out at the Magic Tower to weaken the Elysion Church.
"Ella may fall into danger, but we co well prepared." Elysia sent the Gray Mining Vault’s teleportation artifact to Ella. She gave sothing regarding tasks that needed to be done to resolve the matter on Ella’s side.
"What should we do now? Should we keep an eye on that Demon Queen?" Ai felt the Great Demon King of Hell would likely break one’s promise by breaching the magic contract.
"She knows what’s good and bad for her. We promised her a reward for that task, and she can never ignore it once she opens that gift box." Elysia faintly smiled, knowing Envy could never ignore her magic contract. The promise and temptation would lure the great devil who was filled with envy to get the job done.
"Many people are rushing here. What should we do?" Luna reported the situation as she felt they couldn’t just flee from the scene.
"Yusagi, please stand guard here as if you’re a hunter yourself. Tell them that the heretic tried to summon a Great Demon of Hell, and the heretic fled toward the east. We’ll wait there, and nobody will notice us but you. Can you do it?" Elysia pointed at the fleeing Demon Queen and handed over a holy sword to Yusagi.
"Please leave it to , Goddess Master." Yusagi replied with a knight salute.
Elysia then went with Elena, Luna, Ai, and Zera to the nearby tall tree. They waited on the camouflaged branches, eyeing the surroundings like the hidden predators.
