It didn't take long for them to get to the restaurant which didn't particularly didn't look that impressive from the outside, but once they got inside, the story was different.

They were in a very fancy restaurant, one of the most expensive restaurants.

Anybody could tell that just by looking at the fancy chandeliers hanging here and there, the tables, and the type of people that were there.

After realizing that, Amber had to pull closer to the winger because she was starting to feel uncomfortable.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Mateo asked.

"Nothing, it's just that this place looks really expensive." She said as she slowly looked around the area.

"Is that what you're worried about?" The winger said with a little chuckle.

"Yeah." She replied.

"I understand but I'm the one taking care of the bills, have you forgotten?"

"Okay, but it's not necessary, we could have just gone to one of the moderate restaurants in town." She said.

"You don't like it here, oh?" He said before slowly turning away his gaze from her.

"No, it's not that I don't like it, I just don't like having all these rich people looking at , I didn't even dress properly for a place like this." She dressed.

"What's wrong with your dress? I think you look okay with it, and as for people looking at you, just don't think about it, it's sothing that has to happen." He said before grabbing her hand. "There's a free table over there."

He pulled her along with him to the table he saw and left her on that side before walking to the other side to sit there.

"You know, I didn't know you liked fancy things and places." She said as they both slowly sat down on their seats.

"No, I don't like fancy things, I decided to co here with you because I thought you would like it but I guess that wasn't the case. Although, I'm sure you'll like it after today." He expressed.

"Maybe." She muttered before shifting her gaze away from him a little to avoid making eye contact with him.

It didn't take long before the waiter pulled up and after making their orders, Mateo turned his gaze back to her.

"You know, I never really thought about it, but you must be really intelligent up there to be able to graduate at the age of eighteen." The winger said.

"Well, when your parents never allow you to leave the house to go do whatever you want, the only thing you can do is stay in the house and study." She said as she lightly tapped her fingers on the table.

"Only thing you did was stay at ho and study? That can't be true." Mateo said.

"What makes you say that?" She asked after turning her gaze to him.

"I an the young people of this generation are pretty addicted to their phones although that's not exactly for so people, but you had a phone back then, right? So there's no way the only thing you did all day long was studying." Mateo expressed.

"That's true, but not for soone who gets his smartphone confiscated for twenty hours in a day." She said.

"What?" Mateo said with a confused expression on his face.

"They said I had to work hard to graduate with good grades, get a good job and beco the best version of myself." She said,

"So, they take away your phone for almost the whole day and prevent you from going out." The winger said.

"Yeah." She muttered.

"I think that's a bit too harsh, my sister didn't even have to go through all that and she still managed to graduate just at the age of nineteen." He said.

"I tried to tell them that what they were doing wasn't exactly necessary, and it felt like I was starting to get through to my mom but my dad just wouldn't budge." She said.

"I never knew you grew up with strict parents." The winger said.

"Yeah, but they weren't bad to in any way, they were just looking out for which I understand."

"Do you even have any friends over there?"

"Of course, I love making friends, I have three friends in the university, they're all older than which is expected." She expressed.

"Three friends in the university, that's nice."

"Yeah, and outside that, I also have another, she's the only one I can call my best friend, she's very supportive and cos to see whenever she has the chance, and as a result of that, my parents beca pretty comfortable with her coming over."

Their conversation was interrupted as the waiter seed to have arrived with their food and drinks.

Amber just kept her gaze on him as he helped the waiter put everything on the table with a certain thought running through her mind.

'Should I ask him about it again? We're having such a good ti together, this may end up ruining the mood.'

"Amber."

That call from Mateo was enough to call her back into the real world.

"You're spacing out, are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm okay." She said before slowly shaking her head.

"Okay, let's enjoy our al then." The winger said before turning his gaze to his food.

"Yeah." She said before she picked up the fork and slowly brought her gaze down.

After about an hour of fighting sponsored by Emma herself, she finally fell asleep on the couch giving Dave the breathing space that he had been asking for.

"She used to be so peaceful." The goalkeeper said with his gaze on her.

'Yeah, I've figured that out.' He said subconsciously before getting up from the couch. 'I didn't even get to watch the match properly because she kept changing the channel, she could have picked up a few things from that match for her job.'

'Huh?'

'Yeah, winning the league with Unique FC is sothing I would love to see happen but I think getting a champions league spot will also make the fabs happy.'

'I know we beat them in the charity match but we'll be facing them after Ronino FC and I don't have a very good feeling about that match.'
