MGSFV?! Chapter 513. Elysia's Skills That Only Work on Girls; Is Honkai Impact 3rd Getting a New Logo?
If it were any other character snapping at i like that, players would definitely find it strange.
They'd probably think sothing like: "Who even are you, speaking to General i like that?"
But it's different when it cos to the Herrscher of Thunder's persona. Hearing Big Sis Thunder's blunt lines, players actually felt a bit... happy?
Not just because her words in the plot were "so in character" and "fit her perfectly," but also because they couldn't help imagining i recording this in real life...
Standing in the recording booth, one mont i is voicing her usual self, calmly delivering lines full of emotion, as if her "other self" stood right across from her, hiding waves of emotion behind a still voice:
"You don't understand .jpg"
Firm, resolute—as if she'd really lash out the next second.
Then...
The very next mont, i quietly walks over, shifts into the Thunder persona, crosses her arms, raises her chin, and counters herself:
"Got guts now, talking back to ?.jpg"
As if that earlier "you don't understand " wasn't sothing she herself said just a second ago.
She instantly cuts ties with the self from one second prior.
[Hahaha, the more you think about it, the funnier this live split-personality act becos.]
[Funny or not, major respect to the voice actress.]
"It really is exhausting to play different personalities well..."
Elysia paused for a mont, then added thoughtfully,
"Hmm... but now that I think about it, everyone seems to be this exhausted..."
After all, in Honkai Impact 3rd...
"...Now that you ntion it, I just realized—everyone in Honkai seems to have split personalities?" i finished Elysia's sentence.
"Right, right! I even overheard Little Sentience complaining one day: just logging in and entering the bridge, and you'll see ten or more characters with multiple personalities—split personalities have beco too common!" Elysia nodded fervently.
"Little Senti... The great Herrscher of Sentience herself—could it be she's starting to feel like she's losing her uniqueness?" i even deliberately rephrased it.
"Who knows? If you're curious, you could ask her after the stream ends. Though this happened quite a while ago—Little Sentience might've forgotten by now."
"A while ago?"
"About half a year." Elysia casually dropped a long ti span with a light tone.
"...You rembering sothing that far back so clearly is quite impressive."
"Not really. It's not that hard."
A rare mont of humility.
But to be fair, Elysia's "ability" really is impressive...
Hokuto: Though it only works on cute girls.
...
Let's focus back on the ga.
After players teased Big Sis Thunder's queenly lines—
The story continued.
Disregarding real-life factors (sa VA), in the ga, i and Big Sis Thunder were indeed two characters with vastly different personalities.
Having gone through so much, i naturally wouldn't back down in front of the Thunder persona anymore.
She's t plenty of problematic personalities by now.
No matter how "problematic" Big Sis Thunder might be—can she possibly be more problematic than Mobius, Vill-V, or Kalpas...?
So...
i: "..."
With only a mont of silence, her expression steadied.
"If you truly understood , you wouldn't use such strange thods to greet ."
"Those reimagined lives you showed only prove you don't understand —nor do you understand Kiana."
"To the point where I can't help but suspect... that you really did disappear after sublimation... so when the Stigmata Project revived you, it only inherited my knowledge, not the emotions tied to it."
That illusion earlier may have been a plausible alternate tiline.
But it only suited who she was at Chiyou Academy—and only fit the Kiana of that ti...
[So that scene just now was a CP shipper Thunder persona writing her own fanfic? Honestly, that's exactly what CP fans love to see.]
[I do love to see it (speaking from experience).]
[Thunder persona even worked hard to make it consistent and logical—just like those "for love and art" doujin authors I admire.]
However...
The Thunder persona wasn't having it.
She fired back: "Nonsense! Put your hand on your heart—can you honestly say you don't want any of that?"
Can she?
Hearing her question, even the players began to ponder.
They figured...
Surely i... still wanted what was in that illusion, right?
If that's what they thought—then i's next reply would wildly exceed their expectations.
"i... i might not accept it. Because Kiana would never agree to abandon everything and leave the Honkai with her now..."
Unlike most of the players' assumptions.
"If it really ca to that, i would have to force Kiana... but the i now..."
Was Elysia trying to say she "wouldn't do that anymore"?
"...might instead believe in the possibility of sothing even better."
"No matter how full of peril... no matter how thorny the path..."
Apparently, her perspective was not quite the sa as everyone else's.
[Elysia, what you're saying is...]
...
In the story.
i's answer aligned exactly with Elysia's prediction.
Facing the Thunder persona's question, i's expression didn't waver—she answered firmly and decisively, with just one word:
"I can."
[She can?!]
[i, that was so firm, so resolute...]
[This isn't what I expected at all.]
If even players didn't expect it—how much less so for the Thunder persona?
That i could—so resolutely—say...
She can???
"...!?"
The Thunder persona was visibly shocked. Her expression quickly turned furious.
"I gave you my power... gave you everything—for what?"
"For Kiana." i's response was still swift and unwavering. "That's exactly why... what the Stigmata Project offered us was nowhere near enough."
[?!]
[Beautiful. So bold, so ambitious—and so right! That kind of 'happiness' is far from enough for her.]
Just like how the previous era had the Stigmata Project—yet still pursued sothing greater with the Fla-Chasers' Fire Moth plan.
A heart that seeks sothing better... should never be forgotten.
[Expanding horizons.jpg]
[I think I understand now why Elysia said what she did earlier.]
Mixed among the excited barrage were so less "mainstream" comnts.
Calling them "unusual," because not everyone could grasp them right away.
"??"
For example, in the plot, the Thunder persona typed out a few question marks.
"You're confused because you don't understand Kiana," i continued. "A person's character is their fate... try understanding the deeper aning of that phrase."
"For example, when facing so-called apocalypse—Kiana would only choose one thing: to use her strength to stop it."
"...It's not about the result. It's a way of life."
i was just stating facts, but the aning was enough to cause a misunderstanding on the Thunder persona's part.
So...
She fired back bluntly: "That's because you're too weak."
"Because you lack the ability to solve the problem, you let soone else sacrifice herself..."
"Then justify it by saying... that's just who she is?"
"Hahahahahaha."
She even let out a mocking laugh: "You... are hopelessly pathetic."
[Thunder persona: Raiden i, you can't do anything.]
[Big Sis Thunder is dropping bar after bar today.]
[V2V: I hope you never argue with yourself.]
[...Co to think of it, everything V2V said in her farewell feels like foreshadowing.]
[I think i is choosing this because she understands why Kiana would do it, right?]
"Understands?"
"Yes, but... it feels like she's also willing to do more on her own...?"
She felt...
i's current mindset wasn't just respect. It wasn't just understanding—it carried more proactive aning.
Otherwise, why would i risk so much to seek out the Herrscher of Origin?
Isn't it because she wanted to seize more keys to resolving everything?
It's like...
In the instant she searched for a taphor, she recalled the usual teasing comnts from others. So this ti, she decided to think more "seriously."
Like players who want to find the perfect ending in a ga—they'll make sure every detail is handled right, that they haven't missed anything.
"If she wants it—then I'll do my best too. The two of us will achieve more together. Enough to face a better future together..."
As for whether that's too idealistic—
Ask the Fla-Chasers: when they fought, did they ever think that if they failed to defeat the Honkai, everything they fought for would disappear—that their protection ant nothing?
Maybe many of them did think about it...
But they didn't stop.
Even knowing how slim the odds were—they still found the courage to move forward.
...
"...Looks like you've been asleep too long."
i remained unfazed by the Thunder persona's sarcasm, and replied calmly yet firmly:
"To the point where now, the weaker one between us—"
"Is you."
Her tone was never as intense as the Thunder persona's—but that steadiness made her all the more confident.
She was doing the right thing—and needed no one's approval. The Thunder persona, in contrast, seed like she was desperately seeking recognition.
"You showed possibilities that can't co true... whatever your intentions were, the result was still a dismissal of Kiana's character—and a betrayal of everything Elysia once showed ."
"..."
"That tone..." the Thunder persona scoffed, "You're walking the sa path as the Fla-Chasers. And you're proud of it?"
i shook her head: "Not proud, necessarily... but why not?"
"After leaving that place, I've thought about it many tis... If I see myself as their student—why not?"
"Foolish. Weak." Thunder persona lashed out, "The teachers were already failures. What can the student do?"
[...?]*N
[Those words?! What kind of mories did the Thunder persona read?!]
[The Fla-Chasers—They! Are! Not! Failures!!]
Naturally, i wouldn't agree with Thunder's view of the Fla-Chasers either.
"..."
Yet her rebuttal still wasn't aggressive.
"...Putting aside whether the Fla-Chasers 'failed.' Even if they were 'failures' in terms of 'results'—does that an they'd be failures as people, too?"
"To , just like them, I should do all I can—do my very best..."
"As for who's the one that writes the final chapter of fate—"
She had only just said "write the final chapter of fate"—when...
Thunder persona couldn't hold back.
"You clearly think—it's Kiana who writes that final chapter."
"Indeed." i's tone finally shifted, subtly: "From any angle, she's the most suitable."
"You... really don't intend to stop her? Even if it ans losing her—losing everything?"
Though i's tone had shifted, in the eyes of the ultimate Kiana×i shipper Thunder persona—this wasn't nearly enough.
It was practically:
Raiden i! That's all the reaction you have? I'm disappointed!!
That was her inner monologue.
[As expected, Big Sis Thunder cannot accept Kiana becoming Finality.]
[Honestly, I can't really either... but, forget it. I'll keep quiet.]
[Wait—but why is everyone acting like Kiana will beco Finality? Isn't there still a chance?]
[Because it's obvious. The foreshadowing isn't even subtle anymore. Kiana might as well tattoo "I'm Finality" on her forehead. Don't lie to yourselves.]
[Kibao... my Kibao... tears up]
"No way, right...?"
"Even Otto wouldn't seriously let Kiana die... She's the LOGO of Honkai Impact 3rd!"
"If the LOGO reminds us that the girl on it is already... how can we enjoy the ga anymore?"
[Maybe... Honkai Impact 3rd is getting a new LOGO soon?]
As for that...
According to Hokuto's plan—it really might be happening.
Though... the reason might be slightly different than they imagined.
