MGSFV?! Chapter 334. Mobius Is Done For; The Comforting Presence of Hua
While the stream chat was overflowing with dense, scrolling lines of [Healthy, radiant, positive vibes]…
Mobius had been staring silently at the ga screen for quite a while.
"Doctor Mobius, not continuing?" Hokuto finally asked.
Mobius was stirred by his question, slowly returning to herself.
But rather than continuing the main story, she instead responded with a seemingly calm expression.
"The rest of the plot… let Elysia handle it. I want so peace—I an, this was always ant to be her task anyway."
"Hmm… I suppose that works."
Hokuto hadn't expected Mobius to fold so soon—just a few scenes in and she was already out. Truly, aside from her mouth, everything about Snake-sis was soft.
"So be it..."
Mobius stood and exited the stream area. Not long after, Elysia ca in to take her place.
Elysia settled herself on the small couch, picked up the device, and before continuing the main story, casually asked a question.
"'Otto'-san, is there any more player-controlled gaplay coming up?"
"Hmm…"
Hokuto paused to seriously consider it, then lightly shook his head. "None."
"Really?" Elysia pressed.
"Really," Hokuto replied with a solemn expression.
"Huu~"
Elysia let out a long sigh of relief.
And honestly, the viewers in the stream chat felt the sa.
It seed they had just gotten through the most agonizing part of the story.
[I think I can finally breathe now…]
[Though, based on the pacing, there's still gonna be a few emotional gut punches…]
[But hey, if we made it through that, I think I can handle what's coming.]
That's what they thought.
But reality, of course, would prove quite different.
Each chapter more intense than the last...
...
Back to the story.
After confirming Hokuto's answer, Elysia exhaled in relief and was about to exit the Fla-Chaser archive screen.
But when she saw the remaining four character cards…
She paused slightly.
Then opened each one, one by one, and looked through them carefully.
This action didn't serve any real "purpose," but it was sothing she felt compelled to do.
"..."
Even after viewing them, Elysia didn't say anything. She simply moved on and clicked into the next main chapter.
The story continued.
Next up—
Was the story of another Fla-Chaser.
This ti, it was Hua.
The first subtitle to appear on-screen:
[Fear Not.]
The players imdiately felt like the writers were talking directly to them again.
After all, weren't they just freaking out over what was coming?
And now the story flat-out throws a line like [Fear Not] at them...
[Writers? Is this a provocation?]
[This is outrageous!!]
[A taunt straight to my face, I'm speechless.]
Though the players felt personally attacked, this line was actually part of the teachings Hua once received.
Back then, the tide of battle had already turned. All that remained for her and her captain were two things:
The defeat they had already suffered—and the defeat yet to co, inevitable once again.
For the girl nad Hua, powerlessness had been a constant companion for most of her life.
So...
When she first saw the figure of the Seventh Herrscher appear before her—
What filled her heart wasn't fear of death…
But a flood of mories she had never once forgotten.
"I want to know what I can do."
This was the question Hua asked her (Hiko) the first ti they t.
"You'll have your whole life to figure that out, no need to rush."
That was her (Hiko)'s reply.
[It's not Hiko, but that voice still brings her back.]
Because yes—it was Hiko's voice.
According to the "industry" lingo, this is called "getting paid for lines."
...
Back then, Hua never received a concrete answer from her captain.
But she never stopped thinking about the question.
She spent her entire life pondering it.
And hers was no ordinary "lifeti"—it spanned 50,000 years. A span no one could dismiss lightly.
What's more, unlike her true self, she hadn't experienced the world.
What she had, was only the endless contemplation within Elysian Realm.
Whether or not she had reached a conclusion in that ti…
No one could say for sure.
...End of flashback.
Back to the present.
ROAR!!
A monster shrieked in agony.
"This should be the last one."
In the mory-woven battlefield, Hua's fight against the enemy continued.
Everywhere she looked—defeated monsters lay piled high.
"But… fighting like this is pointless."
As she contemplated, she strained her sight toward the distance, searching for the enemy that truly needed to be stopped.
After breaking free from Griseo's painting, the Herrscher of Corruption had summoned countless monsters and rushed off in a certain direction.
"Even for a re battle, the Herrscher of Corruption doesn't want to waste ti?"
"Seems like Vill-V's device is sothing she really can't ignore."
"Better catch up quickly. Only by forcing her into combat can we turn ti to our favor."
From Hua's inner monologue, players learned two pieces of good news:
The Herrscher of Corruption is panicking!
Vill-V is amazing! MVP of the arc confird!
After her quick assessnt, Hua—determined not to let the enemy's plan proceed—set off imdiately in pursuit.
But her chase wasn't easy.
Soon, wave after wave of Faded creatures blocked her path, trying to stop her from moving forward.
Perhaps to emphasize urgency and tension, the combat phase here sent endless Faded enemies in continuous waves—leaving players no room to rest.
And yet, despite how long and grueling the battle was—
The players felt no frustration at all.
Why?
Because this ti, they were controlling Hua—not the Herrscher of Corruption.
They finally didn't have to control the Herrscher anymore!
Even the air felt fresher.
So even felt like thanking the writers…
No, no—never thank the writers!!
The mont that traitorous thought surfaced, they quickly purged it.
Still...
There was no denying that, after the "baptism" of the Herrscher of Corruption—
The players were now oddly… refreshed.
Their actions felt sharper, their gaplay smoother.
After being stuck with the Herrscher for so long...
Touching Hua felt like reconnecting with an old friend.
