"No, nothing." the person who exclaid felt sowhat embarrassed, "It’s just that I heard you ca back from abroad, and I thought, your Mandarin would be..."
"My Mandarin is not good?" Mi Lu cut in, scoffing.
The person beca even more embarrassed, and Lin Yuanyuan pursed her lips, trying to smooth things over, "Mi Lu, Jian Dan, they didn’t an that, it’s just that everyone heard you are of mixed heritage and grew up in the United Kingdom since you were young, and they were just a bit curious."
Mi Lu nodded, "Oh, I see, so being curious also includes gossiping behind soone’s back?"
"It’s not like that," the person explained, sowhat flustered.
Mi Lu laughed, "No need to explain so much, we arrived quite early and heard plenty, and what you were saying, we heard quite clearly."
Lin Yuanyuan tried to hide the embarrassnt on her face with a smile, her tone a bit hesitant, "It’s not very nice for you guys to co so early and listen in on everyone’s conversations at the corner of the wall."
The girls from the other dormitory, who had embarrassed looks on their faces, suddenly changed their expressions, and, feeling impatient with Mi Lu, also thought that her behavior was sowhat inappropriate. Why should they feel embarrassed?
Having thought that, they imdiately felt much better.
Listening to this bandit logic, Mi Lu couldn’t help but look at Lin Yuanyuan with amusent.
"This kind of divisive talk, I don’t know why, but it feels so awkward to , Little Jian Dan, what do you think?"
Jian Dan smiled, and although she was gentle and didn’t want to say much, that didn’t an she couldn’t understand.

Mi Lu laughed out loud.
"People nowadays are really interesting, they badmouth others, and when the person concerned overhears, it turns out to be the fault of that person instead, Miss Lin, I just want to ask, when you accused us of eavesdropping, why didn’t you bla them for speaking ill of us behind our backs?"
Lin Yuanyuan’s face suddenly turned ugly, a mix of embarrassnt and slight grievance.
Soone couldn’t stand it anymore.
"Mi Lu, it’s not nice for you to be so aggressive, Yuanyuan didn’t say much, you guys are going too far."
"Exactly, Yuanyuan was just sticking up for us, if you have any complaints, direct them at us instead, don’t make it difficult for innocent people."
Mi Lu crossed her arms and scoffed, "Now it turns out we are the ones in the wrong, like the thief calling ’catch the thief’, this is the first ti I’ve seen such a thing."
Jian Dan tugged at Mi Lu and began to smile gently, "Lulu, don’t be angry, let handle this."
Mi Lu was just about to pull her behind and say, "You’re so soft, nothing you say cos out strong, what’s the use of you speaking, do these people look like they reason with others? Clearly not."
Why bother showing them respect?
Before she had a chance to speak, Jian Dan stepped in front of her and smiled at the other party, "So you want to switch dorms, huh? Fine, no problem. Go talk to the housing administrator. If they don’t agree to switch your room, then there’s nothing to be done. If you do get the change, that would be fantastic. Also, if this isn’t your dorm anymore, please don’t co in. After all, this isn’t just Lin Yuanyuan’s dorm. Did you even ask if we’re okay with you crowding into our room just to see one person?
"If you really like Lin Yuanyuan that much, of course, we have no objections, and we hold nothing against her. It’s just that we don’t like strangers barging into our room and attacking us directly. That’s pretty annoying."
A few girls’ faces turned red with anger. Seeing how indifferent Mi Lu and Jian Dan were, they were fuming, "Do you know how many people want to share a dorm with Yuanyuan? Isn’t what you’re doing a bit too much?"

In the end, the girls left discontentedly, scattering like birds and fish. Before they left, they made plans to see Lin Yuanyuan again next ti.
Once they were gone, neither of the two approached Lin Yuanyuan, and instead, the other roommate ca out of the bathroom. Mi Lu saw her and laughed, "Were you so annoyed by the noise that you’d rather squat in the toilet?"
The girl smiled back, her gaze conveying a mutual understanding.
Apart from Lin Yuanyuan, the three roommates got along pretty well. This girl’s na was Lai Wei. She was admitted through a competitive scholarship program for impoverished students, exceedingly talented, nearly scoring full marks in every subject, a rarity in the entire city.
The three of them gathered together, as if there were endless topics to discuss. Lin Yuanyuan wasn’t intentionally ignored, but she simply wasn’t interested in their conversations, and they had no intention to involve Lin Yuanyuan in their affairs. Lin Yuanyuan had never been isolated like this before. At first, she felt a bit aggrieved, but after pondering, she convinced herself they were just jealous because she was a sowhat famous actress. So they felt she was from a different world.
With that thought, she felt much more at ease.
The other three didn’t bother to speculate on what Lin Yuanyuan was thinking. They went about their business, and in the end, Lin Yuanyuan did butt in to apologize. Mi Lu imdiately recognized her apology as insincere, chuckling without saying a word. Jian Dan, however, smiled aningfully and said, "Good that you recognize your mistake."
Lai Wei almost wanted to kneel before her in admiration for her straightforwardness.
Lin Yuanyuan’s face beca so red it could have seared a steak.
Jian Dan’s thoughts were quite simple; she believed Lin Yuanyuan was indeed in the wrong, and an apology was only to be expected. By accepting her apology, she was already being magnanimous. What was there to laugh about?
Mi Lu and Lai Wei looked at Jian Dan and laughed. For so reason, they found it imnsely entertaining to witness soone standing up to others unaware of the effect they were having. Jian Dan also noticed that Lin Yuanyuan was unhappy and was genuinely puzzled. She turned and whispered to Mi Lu, "Mi Lu, did I say sothing wrong? If she’s apologizing, doesn’t she intend to be sincere? Why apologize then? If it were and I didn’t want to apologize, I just wouldn’t. My Uncle Quin always told that no matter what happens, I never need to bow down to anyone."
Although she had never had the chance to exercise this privilege, that didn’t an there wouldn’t be one in the future.
She wasn’t in a hurry to use it; naturally, if Lin Yuanyuan tried to ss with her, she couldn’t just sit back and take it.
Lai Wei smiled, her eyes curving into crescents, "Little Jian Dan, it’s okay. We’ve already done what we needed to do, so don’t worry about it. If you don’t like it, you don’t have to do anything. Mi Lu and I will help you."
The reason the three of them ended up in the sa dorm was that each had a unique status, and of course, Lin Yuanyuan’s placent was engineered on purpose. Her agent had put quite an effort into it. If Lin Yuanyuan didn’t live up to her agent’s expectations in the end, she could very well be dropped. That’s just how the industry works.
