Little did anyone know Huo Qi didn’t care, he was also quite a thorn in the side, even more decisive. Not eting up was consolation in itself, but once they did, he would definitely be the loser. All this, Ao Chen actually knew it all along.

He was acutely aware of it, but still insisted on making things difficult. Now, I find myself feeling a bit sympathetic towards him, this man without much autonomy. As long as Huo Qi said he was unwilling, I bet, he would regret it for eight hundred years.

Allen: "It’s not really Huo Qi’s fault, there shouldn’t have been such a test in the first place. I don’t even know who gave him that bad advice."

Everyone fell silent.

If it had turned into this scene, it wasn’t sothing friends wanted to see, after all, both individuals were their friends, and they didn’t want to see either of them get hurt.

...

On Ao Chen’s side, he naturally didn’t know what his friends were discussing about him and Huo Qi.

However, after Huo Qi unilaterally terminated the cooperation, Ao Chen’s mood took a drastic downturn, becoming gloomy all day long.

He was not one to sit around and wait for doom; he bought a plane ticket that night and flew directly to New York.

He had extensive connections, so finding out where Huo Qi was filming wasn’t difficult.

Still, those on the other end of the phone couldn’t help but tease him a bit, and even after several hours of flight, his mood was still not great.

After a few transfers, he felt utterly nauseous from all the flying.

When he reached Huo Qi’s filming location, he found that Huo Qi’s film crew was on a break, Yuran and Bo Yan had flown back to their country at opposite tis.

After asking the staff mbers, he got Huo Qi’s address and found the hotel Huo Qi was staying at, which was moderately facilitated.

Standing at the door, he raised his hand several tis but couldn’t bring himself to knock. After a while, he leaned against the door fra and smoked fiercely.

The smoke detector went off.

Ao Chen beca the center of everyone’s attention, and as people rushed out, each wore a look of reproach. Ao Chen apologized while having his people co over to handle the situation, including compensations.

Once everyone had retreated to their rooms, Ao Chen sighed in relief, but then he saw Huo Qi among the crowd, who was smiling with a twinkle in his eyes. He paused and walked towards Huo Qi.

...

Huo Qi did not let Ao Chen into his room; instead, they went to the hotel’s lounge and sat opposite each other.

Huo Qi had lost a lot of weight and looked more overshadowed but still striking, exactly the type the young girls liked nowadays, his knowledge and experience adding a rich, unique aura.

What Ao Chen thought of, however, was how Huo Qi looked when they both lay in bed together, right after Huo Qi woke up.

He pulled his thoughts together, "Why did you cancel the cooperation?"

Huo Qi raised his eyebrows, paused while pouring water, then slightly curled his lips into a smile, "I thought, you clearly understand there’s no need to insist on cooperating with . Our relationship really doesn’t need too much interaction; what if you regret and want to reconcile with ? How awkward would that be, Ao Chen? Don’t I have any dignity?"

Ao Chen: "..."

His head buzzed noisily; he had just seen Huo Qi’s lips moving, but, what had Huo Qi actually said?

Huo Qi said, it wasn’t great for them to have further interaction; what if he wanted to make up with him?

Huo Qi didn’t want to have relations, nor did he want to reconcile.

Ao Chen felt more confused than ever, his clear eyes struggled to discern Huo Qi’s face across from him.

Huo Qi saw that Ao Chen remained silent for a long ti, raised an eyebrow and stood up, "If the great musician Ao has nothing else, I’ll be leaving now."

Ao Chen wanted to stop Huo Qi, but suddenly didn’t know what reason to use to call him.

He could only watch as Huo Qi walked past nonchalantly, as if he had never known him.

Ao Chen felt an unprecedented regret.

Regret for his easy abandonnt back then.

The courage he had mustered to co here almost completely evaporated with Huo Qi’s few words, but he knew, he couldn’t give up.

Mustering so unknown courage, he stood up, chased Huo Qi down and blocked him at the elevator. Huo Qi looked perplexed, "Is there sothing else?"

Ao Chen didn’t speak; he just blocked him, refusing to let him go and unwilling to leave himself.

Passersby who saw the two n being so awkward were quite curious, thinking they both seed like nutcases.

Huo Qi yanked him away from the elevator and led him to another corner, which was quieter and where no one would notice them.
