"Grandpa, you weren’t just waiting here to hear say that, were you?"

Grandpa Bo gave him a look as if he thought too highly of himself and muttered, "Get lost."

"Grandpa, who are you waiting for so late at night?"

"Your elder brother, your uncle."

Bo San put away his flippant expression and turned serious, "Grandpa, is it that..."

"Interfering is unnecessary, that’s our family’s rule. Are you thinking of changing careers?"

Bo San suddenly fell silent, standing still, as Grandpa Bo waved him off, "Go rest, don’t mind ."

"How about you go to rest, Grandpa, and I’ll wait here for uncle and elder brother to co back, then I can call you, alright?"

Grandpa Bo shook his head, "Lately, your grandma’s sleep hasn’t been good. If you call , it might wake her up. I’ll sleep in the guest room later, not to disturb her. And a warning for you, keep your voice down too."

Bo San: "...I understand, Grandpa."

"Hurry and go to sleep. Seeing you looking like you’re reeking of money annoys ."

Bo San felt wronged for himself, "Xiaoqi reeks even more of money than I do, does he annoy you when you see him, Grandpa?"

Grandpa Bo didn’t say a word, lifted his cane ready to strike, and Bo San quickly dodged, raising his hands in defense, "Grandpa, no no no, don’t be angry, I’m leaving right now."

Grandpa Bo sighed, "The compound really doesn’t welco you back. You can’t even get married, what face do you have to return? When I was your age, your younger uncle was already in elentary school."

Bo San was frustrated, "Grandpa, tis have changed. People married early in the past; now, late marriage is encouraged. Isn’t the country still promoting it? Late marriages, late childbirth, for better birth and rearing."

Grandpa Bo looked furious, his face ugly, not wanting to see Bo San for another second, "Get lost, get lost, just hurry up and get lost.

Otherwise, you’ll anger to death, and I worry for your lifeti of endless nightmares."

Bo San: "..."

It was the first ti he heard soone curse him in such a fresh and refined way.

Impressive.

But he really didn’t dare to anger Grandpa Bo further. He turned and went upstairs. Naturally, he didn’t go straight to his room but sat down at the stairwell corner, ready to eavesdrop. If Grandpa Bo, who usually doesn’t interfere, was handling things, it must an sothing significant had happened.

Approaching two in the morning, Bo Qin and Bo San’s uncle slowly returned ho, covered in frost, seeing Grandpa Bo waiting in the living room. The exhaustion washed off the uncle’s face as he went straight to Grandpa Bo, "Dad, you haven’t slept yet?"

"Grandpa, it’s so late, why aren’t you resting?" Bo Qin frowned, clearly disapproving of Grandpa’s approach.

Grandpa Bo eyed their weary looks and huffed, "You two, hopeless, such a small issue has got you all flustered? After so long in politics, still being played by others, what good are you?"

Bo Qin was indifferent, with thick skin, but the uncle’s wasn’t, his face instantly flushing, his look flustered as he responded to Grandpa Bo, "Old man, this indeed was my oversight, rest assured, I’ll turn things around. I won’t let people shit on my head so easily."

Bo Qin remained silent, indifferent either way.

The old man snorted, "People have been shitting on your head for a long ti now; you just don’t care and even seem to enjoy it."

Bo San, at the staircase corner, laughed so hard his shoulders shook. What kind of amazing taphor was that? Was his grandfather trying to laugh soone to death?

Of course, he dared not laugh out loud, fearing he would be caught eavesdropping and end up dying more miserably.

The expression on the face of the Bo Family’s eldest uncle was sowhat unsustainable, and Bo Qin rescued him from a dire situation, "Grandfather, the trap that Ou Jinwen set for at the Municipal Building today, I’ve already returned in full. Ou Jinwen and I had a bit of a conflict at the Municipal Building, and many people saw it;

As for who was right and who was wrong, naturally, it is left to those who saw it to comnt. I don’t need to do much. However, regarding the matter of the Ou Family acting against us behind our backs, I indeed thought too naively. Their appetite is too big, they’re not even worried about choking themselves to death."

Grandfather Bo looked at Bo Qin and snorted with laughter, "Ou Jinwen in the Ou Family is nothing but a pawn, getting ahead of himself, and you’ve lost."

Bo Qin looked up, his gaze firm, not flickering in the least, "Grandfather, I never underestimate any opponent, any."

Grandfather Bo stood up, turning his back to the two, "If that is the case, then show . The Bo Family indeed holds a high position, but if this position cannot be maintained, the foundation of the Bo Family is rely so."

Bo Qin bowed his head and humd in agreent, "Yes, Grandfather, I understand this. Don’t worry. Whatever the Bo Family was before, it will build on that foundation and shine even more brilliantly in the future."

"I’m tired, I’m going to rest."

Grandfather Bo was not one to make promises or easily believe in promises. What he wanted was action that spoke far louder than words, which was more convincing.

The Ou Family had always been at odds with the Bo Family. Of course, during certain years, the Ou Family had also tried to win over the Bo Family, but talks had fallen through. The Ou Family harbored a long-standing resentnt against the Bo Family, a resentnt that Grandfather Bo did not expect the Ou Family to still rember clearly.

Then, after so many years, they were here waiting for him.

Was it to see him die with his eyes open?

But he, too, had co through great trials and tribulations. The Ou Family’s intentions were likely to be in vain. Bo brushed himself off quickly and hurried back to his own room, never expecting that their Bo Family would encounter difficulties in politics, and it would be the Ou Family.

This just got interesting.

...

The next day, at the breakfast table, Bo Yan and his mother reached a consensus. They acted separately, each heading to a different destination. Bo Yan’s mother was driven out by the family driver, while Bo Yan drove himself.

Zhizhi and Yuran saw them off. Zhizhi ran up and kissed Bo Yan on the forehead, "Daddy, Mommy said you’re going to fight monsters. Go for it, Daddy!"

Bo Yan chuckled, rubbing his little head in a circle, and looked up with sparkling eyes at Yuran. Yuran arched an eyebrow, her gaze focused as she t his eyes, "What’s up?"

Bo Yan smiled, waving his fingers at Yuran, "Baby, co here for a sec."

Yuran, slightly suspicious, still walked over. Bo Yan covered Zhizhi’s eyes with his hand and pressed down Yuran’s head, her rosy lips eting his.

Seeing this scene just as he stepped out of the house, Elder Bo snorted, feeling that his son was shaless.

Zhizhi had long been accustod to such actions. When he could finally see beyond the palm covering his eyes, Yuran and Bo Yan had already separated. Zhizhi gravely said, "Daddy, Mommy, Zhizhi wasn’t peeking. Don’t cover my eyes anymore; it’s uncomfortable."

Bo Yan laughed, "Alright, Zhizhi, keep Mommy company. Daddy will be back soon, okay?"

"Okay."

As Bo Yan’s car disappeared from sight, Zhizhi tugged on Yuran’s wrist, "Mommy, shall we play chess or read a book?"

Yuran took his hand and walked back, spotting Elder Bo standing by the door. Startled, she asked, "Dad, are you going out?"

Elder Bo nodded, "Yes, just out for a bit."
