On the seventh day as the incident continued to fernt, Diyang issued a press release, "At 3 p.m., Diyang will hold a press conference. dia reporters who wish to understand the recent events are welco to attend."
There were only three hours left until the press conference, and Yuran and Bo Yan had returned to the capital the day before.
This decision was made after consulting with Xie Cheng, not particularly heartfelt—it was just a formality.
The ti difference was aid at giving troublemakers less ti to prepare, and at this mont, they were sitting in Diyang’s executive office with Qi Feng.
Qi Feng looked at Yuran, who despite being tornted by scandals, appeared radiant, and expressed disbelief, "I’ve seen female stars hounded by scandals looking like they’re on the verge of heart failure within a few days. The divine one’s woman is truly different; the comnts are like nourishnt to you, making you shine even brighter."
These words made Yuran want to hit soone. With a forced smile, she turned to Bo Yan to tattle, "What does your manager an by this? Do I have to look as haggard as a ntal asylum patient to be considered normal?"
Qi Feng’s hand shook, and as he saw Bo Yan’s gaze turn towards him, he quickly waved his hands, "That’s not what I ant, Great Actor Bo. You shouldn’t take it so seriously."
Bo Yan hardly hesitated, "With Yuran, I take hearsay as seriously as a downpour—if she says it’s raining, then it’s raining. Whatever she says goes, right?"
Qi Feng was speechless, his eyes bulging in shock, and it took him a long ti to utter just two words, "Bewitched king."
"Pfft..." Yuran couldn’t hold back and laughed, amused by Qi Feng’s expressive face. Getting back on topic, she looked at Qi Feng, "About how many journalists are expected at the press conference?"
Qi Feng, "Over a hundred outlets I guess, but don’t worry, we have our mainstream dia."
Yuran curled her lip, "I’m not worried at all, okay? After all, creating buzz, whether good or bad, is still buzz. As long as ’City of Temptation’ can be released, I’m not in a hurry."
Qi Feng wanted to say, if you want it released, are you lacking places to show your film? The people around you would spend their last penny to get it released, not to ntion a Xi Nian suddenly popping up. With the two of you working together, not getting the film released would be virtually impossible, right?
Be confident, it’s my movie. Aren’t I supposed to be confident that it will be shown?
Qi Feng kept such comnts to himself, not daring to say them aloud in front of Yuran.
Yet his expression was so poor at hiding his thoughts that it was utterly transparent. Yuran looked worriedly at Bo Yan, "Maybe Xie Cheng should co with us to the press conference instead. I think Manager Qi might not be up for the task."
Being so bluntly rejected, Qi Feng doubted his ears, "Mrs. Great Actor Bo, you must be misunderstanding —I’m quite intimidating in person."
Yuran: "..."
No, what kind of bizarre argunt is this?
Bo Yan smiled and caressed Yuran’s cheek. His gaze beca cooler as he looked at Qi Feng, who swallowed nervously, attempting to appear casual but tense as he asked, "Great Actor Bo, do you have any professional instructions for my work?"
The implication was clear: You’re an amateur, so keep your opinions to yourself.
Bo Yan didn’t know how to read people’s faces, especially not soone insignificant, "Instructions are not necessary, but I do think your intelligence needs so saving."
"Pfft... cough cough cough..."
Yuran choked on water, not daring to look at Qi Feng’s despondent face. When the Seventh Brother insulted soone, his mouth was like it had been blessed—his words were sharp and unfiltered.
Qi Feng was quite upset, his face turning red with anger, "Bo Yan..."
Bo Yan didn’t pay him any mind, changing the subject, "The docunts you were supposed to prepare and organize—are they ready?"
Qi Feng pursed his lips, changing the topic away from the humiliation Bo Yan had inflicted upon him, and handed over a stack of docunts, "Your Sixth Brother was faster than us. Before we could move, he was done."
"If you’re not the great movie star of the Bo Family, what’s your status within the Bo Family? Why do all your brothers go so far to help you?"
Bo Yan raised an eyebrow, "I’m the youngest of the Bo Family, and the only one with a child. My brothers and sisters dote on , what’s the problem? Who do you think they’re talking about when they say ’born with a prideful bone’? People without confidence have to rebuild it later in life, can they be as at ease as ?"
That’s not right, why does this person always manage to praise himself like he’s the best thing since sliced bread?
What kind of reasoning is that, as if no one else has pride?
Is this supposed to be an explanation?
Or is this just showing off?
Shaless.
Qi Feng really didn’t have the energy to continue this conversation, feeling utterly exhausted, "Let’s change the subject. I’m not talking about this with you anymore. Yuran, I just want to confirm, that thing about you bullying and exploiting classmates when you were younger, that’s true, right?"
Yuran nodded, "True, but I never did it personally, just ordered others to do the bullying."
Back then I was rebellious, and I had just arrived at the Bo Family’s, so I got a bit arrogant.
Qi Feng nodded, "Then about the incident when you fell down the stairs, you..."
Yuran’s brows twisted, "That incident, I was really innocent. In fact, it reminds of soone, Ji Zexiu. He was also there at the ti, but he left midway through. Not long after he left, I was forcibly injected with a stimulant, and that’s when things went south."
Qi Feng subconsciously glanced at Bo Yan’s face, which was completely expressionless, but with Bo Yan, the more silent he is, the angrier he must be. He was probably seething.
The hand belonging to Yuran in his own was being held tightly; his feelings were still complex, and he didn’t know why.
After negotiating a bit with both of them, Xie Cheng rushed to the company an hour before the afternoon press conference. Seeing Xie Cheng, Yuran smiled, "Brother Xie Cheng."
Xie Cheng smiled back, "When did you guys get here?"
After Yuran explained, Xie Cheng raised an eyebrow at Qi Feng, "You too want to be on cara?"
It took Qi Feng a mont to catch on, "Be on what cara?"
Xie Cheng was sarcastic, "You’re not exactly what the public considers good-looking, better not scare anyone on cara, right?"
Qi Feng balled up his fists, ready to throw a punch. Did Xie Cheng look like soone who would just stand there and take a beating? Of course not, so Qi Feng’s office soon beca a lively battleground. Bo Yan, Qi Feng knew he couldn’t defeat, nor dared to strike, but who did Xie Cheng think he was?
Bo Yan, already shielding Yuran, quickly stood aside in a hidden corner, observing their expert sparring. Yuran clicked his tongue twice, "Seventh brother, these two could totally pass for stunt actors, so thrilling."
Bo Yan pondered thoughtfully, "Good suggestion, we should have them perform for Zhizhi later."
The two fighting, "..." Ridiculously shaless.
Yuran shook his head, "What if Zhizhi becos violent after watching? Best you teach him at ho, self-protection is enough."
Bo Yan couldn’t help but laugh, "Alright, whatever you say goes. Not interested in learning stuff of this level anyway, it’s simply not engaging."
Yuran looked at the two brawling and blushing, feeling a vicarious sense of injustice for them.
It’s just too hard.
