After closing the door, Xi Gu pushed all the water cups on the table to the ground, creating a cacophony of clattering sounds. Ou Jinchu hadn’t gone far and halted in his tracks upon hearing the commotion in the room.
Then, without a sideward glance, he left, calling Xi Gu a waste of space.
...
A mber of the Bo family visited the Platinum Imperial Palace to see Zhizhi, who affectionately called out "Third Uncle" over and over. The family mber brought him several sets of Transforrs.
Zhizhi was so delighted that he showered his face with kisses, then, half-seriously, sweet-talked the visitor into a dizzy spell. After Zhizhi left and he realized what he had agreed to, his face showed a touch of humiliation.
"Can you believe it, even Zhizhi knows how to trap ?"
Sugar-coated bullets, indeed.
Unable to resist the overly sweet treat, a little cajoling was all it took to confuse him completely.
Yuran ca out of the kitchen with tea just in ti to hear the Bo family mber’s complaints, and couldn’t help but chuckle. She placed the tea in front of him, "Third Brother, have so tea."
The family mber pouted, "Thanks Ranran. Xiaoqi, this is where you’re wrong. How can you indulge your son in exploiting ? Darling, co here."
Zhizhi was playing with Transforrs on the play mat. At his words, two big eyes stared unwaveringly at the Bo family mber, "Third Uncle, why are you calling Zhizhi over? Are you out of money to buy any?"
"Zhizhi," Yuran called out softly.
Zhizhi pursed his lips, his expression mirroring Bo Yan’s when he got serious.
The Bo family mber knew all too well the look of young Bo Yan – petty, vengeful, and vicious.
Seeing Zhizhi’s little mimicry gave him a sense of traveling back in ti. He touched his nose, maintaining a serious face, "Darling, would Third Uncle be that kind of person? When have I ever not kept my promise to you?"
Zhizhi’s face brightened with a smile, and his calling "Third Uncle" was sweet to the ears.
The past cage seed to draw him in willingly.
Zhizhi continued to play, and the three adults sat in the reception area. Bo Yan pulled Yuran to sit next to him and silently looked up at the Bo family mber, "You didn’t co here just to see Zhizhi, did you, Third Brother?"
If the Bo family mber had co purely to see Zhizhi, he would have taken Zhizhi away upon arriving, picking him up in the morning and sending him back in the evening.
Just delivering toys usually ant other matters were at hand.
The Bo family mber placed his cup on the table, smiling, "Of course, I wouldn’t call without a reason, and besides, I don’t particularly want to see you either."
Bo Yan: "..."
Yuran held Bo Yan’s hand in a silent comfort. The Bo brothers always had endless insulting remarks for each other. Over the years of his marriage, Bo Yan had llowed a lot, and it seed like his brothers, always looking for an opportunity, enjoyed plucking hairs from the tiger’s mouth.
Having Zhizhi had further softened Bo Yan’s temperant.
So now, general verbal provocations did not anger him; he simply wore an expressionless face.
The Bo family mber spoke a few more words before finding it pointless. It was more energizing to deal with the easily ruffled Xiaoqi, who now behaved maturely, very much like a little old man in his seventies or eighties, not nearly as amusing as Zhizhi.
"Third Uncle, you’re not allowed to bully Daddy."
Bo Yan didn’t care, but little Zhizhi was very upset. At first, seeing Third Uncle scold Bo Yan, he thought it was just idle talk, unintentional, but after hearing several remarks, Zhizhi beca unhappy.
He abandoned his new Transforr friend, and unnoticed by the adults, he had made his way to the Bo family mber’s side. Once the Bo family mber fell silent, they heard his soft, childlike voice.
The Bo family mber felt a chill run down his spine and promptly lifted Zhizhi to sit on his lap, "Darling, is Third Uncle not Daddy’s brother?"
Zhizhi was not to be fooled, "Even as a brother, you shouldn’t insult people. Daddy hasn’t scolded Third Uncle, but Third Uncle keeps bullying Daddy."
Yuran smiled with her lips pressed together, while Bo Yan couldn’t hide his pride, "Darling, your Third Uncle, well, he does owe us with his mouth.
Zhizhi, innocent and naive, asked, "Owes what? Does owing money an you have to scold people?"
Bo Yan, "It’s a gap."
Zhizhi, "Daddy, then let’s sew Third Uncle’s mouth shut."
Bo San: "..."
Is it possible that my Transforrs failed to bribe this little brat? And now he wants to sew his mouth shut?
That’s absurd.
Bo Yan couldn’t help but laugh as he snatched his son from Bo San’s arms and affectionately pecked his cheek, "Baby loves Daddy."
Zhizhi mimicked the action and pecked Bo Yan’s face as well, "Zhizhi loves Daddy the most."
Bo San: "..."
Seeing that they really had sothing to discuss, Yuran took Zhizhi from Bo Yan’s lap and placed him back on the crawling mat, patting his little head, "Zhizhi, you can’t be so rude to Third Uncle. You can refuse Third Uncle’s disrespect toward Daddy;
but as the younger generation, you can’t disrespect Third Uncle like that. You need to reason with Third Uncle, okay?"
Zhizhi smiled slyly, "Mommy, Zhizhi understands."
"Good, play by yourself for a while. Mommy will make you sticky rice cakes later, okay?"
"Hmm, okay."
...
"Xiaoqi, Second Brother asked to inform you that the Ou Family has been making so big moves lately. You know, among the four major families, it’s the Ou Family that competes most with our family, so so things can’t be said openly;
Ou Jinchu, although on the surface, it seems she returned to the country because she accepted the role of Miss Rose from Huanya, I found out that before she received the call from Huanya, she had already received a call from the Ou Family;
Whether there’s any trickery involved, I dare not say, nor am I clear about it, but it’s certainly not as simple as it appears."
The Ou Family has always been a fierce rival of the Bo Family. In past years, the Bo Family had suppressed the Ou Family, and over the years, they have been biding their ti for an opportunity to strike back.
It seems that they have found a breakthrough this year.
If Ou Jinchu’s return to the country is a part of the Ou Family’s strategy, is it possible that the Ou Family considers Yuran to be the Bo Family’s weak point?
If Bo San has thought of this, naturally, Bo Yan has as well.
His eyes montarily turned chillingly cold, with a depth of malice.
Seeing Yuran walk over, Bo San coughed lightly, "Rein in your expression a bit, Yuran hasn’t seen you like this, right?"
Bo Yan didn’t care, "Even if she has, she wouldn’t be afraid."
Bo San felt that he was perhaps too confident in himself and sardonically comnted, "Are you Yuran? Do you know her thoughts now?"
Bo Yan’s face bore a mocking expression, "Which is why you should get married."
Bo San didn’t understand, "What does getting married have to do with it?"
Bo Yan scoffed, "Not being married, you wouldn’t know where the tacit understanding between husband and wife lies. You’re a classic case of a single dog who doesn’t understand those second or third things."
"Damn, Xiaoqi, if you want to mock soone, just do it properly, why launch a personal attack?"
As Yuran ca closer, she heard Bo San’s life-questioning complaints and could barely suppress a laugh, "Third Brother, Seventh Brother, what are you two talking about?"
Bo Yan took her hand and wrapped it around himself, casually explaining their previous conjecture to Yuran and ntioning Bo San’s rage, while Yuran laughed with a twinkle in her eye, "That’s okay. What’s Ou Jinchu’s standing in the Ou Family?"
Bo San, "Ranran, if you’re Bronze tier, she might be at the King tier."
