Xie Cheng was always efficient in handling matters. Although he was not in the country, when it ca to organizing things, there was definitely no confusion. Yuran wanted to et "my mismanaged kid", and the eting was arranged very quickly. Almost the next afternoon, Yuran was called up for a eting at a café outside her school, taking advantage of her lunch break, she went directly to et the person.
She originally thought the person behind the ID "my mismanaged kid", so cute, must be a lovely girl. Never in her wildest dreams did she expect to et a handso guy who looked refined and scholarly with black-frad glasses and an air of bookishness, appearing like a student himself.
The first thing Yuran thought when she saw him was "damn, what a letdown."
Yuran didn’t ask for his real na but simply stated her purpose. "My mismanaged kid" was very straightforward, expressing his willingness to manage her fan group and assuring her he would do a great job.
As they talked, they enjoyed a very joyful conversation. Yuran quite liked how attentive the man was.
He covered all bases, but when it ca to the issue of paynt, the man adamantly refused to charge. Yuran was baffled, "Don’t you want to make money from this? Do you just like , purely?"
To which he looked up admiringly and said shyly, "Can’t I?"
Yuran was at a loss for words. After exchanging contact information, she left. Seeing Yuran leave, the man took out his cell phone and imdiately contacted Xie Cheng, who was far away in France, confirming that all was going well on his end.
Later, Xie Tong asked his cousin Xie Cheng, puzzled, "Big brother, why suddenly make et a celebrity? Are you planning to start a talent agency? If so, don’t drag into this. I’m innocent, how could you do this to ?
Moreover, convincing this girl was tough. Do you know she looked at as if I was an idiot when I said I didn’t want paynt? I must seem like a lunatic in her eyes. I hope I never have to deal with her again. Being a Ph.D. from Imperial University, don’t I deserve so respect?"
Little did he know, Xie Cheng on the other end showed no sympathy but coldly remarked, "Thanks for your appearance. From now on, I won’t ever need you for anything else. You still want to see her? Don’t even think about it."
Xie Tong pondered in confusion, "Could it be that she’s your secret girlfriend? Does our uncle know you’re out there deceiving girls?"
Xie Cheng quickly cut him off, "Shut up, shut up, shut up. Stop talking, you better hold your tongue. I still want to live; if you don’t care about your life, bugger off, don’t drag down. Geez, how could I have such a clueless brother?"
Xie Tong looked innocent, "I did a job for you, wasn’t even thanked, and this is how you treat ? Next ti you better not ask for help, otherwise I’ll make you drink sulfuric acid."
Xie Cheng replied, "My mom won’t let you off. Scram, stop bothering , I’m hanging up. These long-distance calls are too expensive."
"Wait." Xie Tong quickly stopped him.
Xie Cheng, puzzled, "What now?"
Xie Tong smiled sheepishly, his voice softer than usual, "Big brother, five million—that’s the paynt for this help, as you promised. You haven’t forgotten, have you? My recent research is quite costly. Could you lend so support, otherwise I might just spill the truth!"
"You won’t miss out, you money grubber. What are you, Ge Langtai? A vampire?"
"You’re welco, make sure to look out for your brother when such good opportunities arise in the future."
Xie Cheng: "..."
That evening, Yuran shared the matter with Qi Younian. Over the phone, Qi Younian asked her, "Do you think sothing’s off? Not wanting money is good, isn’t it? It just ans that you’re their ultimate fan, commonly known as a ’brain-dead fan.’"
Yuran, "I’m not joking with you, it really is strange. Don’t you think so? Normally, if soone helps you, how could they possibly not charge? Generating power out of love? Do you believe that? Because I don’t.
I think that person is a bit dumb, maybe sothing’s wrong with their brain."
Xie Tong, who was in a research lab at Imperial University, suddenly sneezed. He looked out at the Nightclub and helplessly thought about who might be thinking of him.
Qi Younian couldn’t help but both cry and laugh, "Miss, you’re even suspecting this? I’m starting to wonder if you’re being overly cautious?"
Failing to get through to Qi Younian, Yuran hung up the phone. This kind of thing was probably only sothing that Ge Langtai would seriously discuss with her. Everyone else would think her thinking was off. Is taking advantage of soone really the right kind of enlightennt?
Unconvinced, Yuran also talked to Bo Yan about it. When Bo Yan saw the ssage, Xie Cheng was asking him for money. Since the endeavor was for his benefit, it was natural that he should pay.
Bo Yan had never thought about reneging, but seeing Xie Cheng’s eagerness to collect debts made him uncomfortable. Looking at the foolish Xie Cheng, he asked subconsciously, "Are you really poor?"
Xie Cheng nodded vigorously.
Bo Yan chuckled, and just then, Yuran’s ssage ca in. After reading it, Bo Yan looked back at Xie Cheng with an expression that seed to see him as an idiot.
Not understanding why, Xie Cheng, seeing the disdain in the superstar Bo Yan’s eyes, finally asked, "Superstar Bo Yan, what’s with that look? Did I offend you sohow, and now you’re treating this way? Let tell you, I sacrificed a lot of my personal ti to help you, I don’t even have ti to get a girlfriend. Don’t you think you should consider giving a raise?"
Bo Yan thodically handed over his cell phone and said, "Take a look at this. I think you need to visit the psychiatric departnt now. I rember you said your cousin is a very clever kid; after hearing what Yuran said, I think there’s a lot of fluff in your words, are you serious?"
After seeing the content of the ssage, Xie Cheng was devastated. Dare Xie Tong even had the nerve to demand five million from him, an utterly disastrous eting that left no positive impression, what a future?
Bo Yan grabbed the phone back and replied to Yuran, "People with low IQs should stop interacting with others to avoid influencing you. What’s most important is, if soone else is foolish, just leave them be. In this day and age, there are plenty of foolish people with lots of money."
Out of the corner of his eye, Xie Cheng saw this reply and sneered internally: Exactly, aren’t you the perfect example of being foolish with lots of money? And you still have the nerve to talk about others, not knowing who gave you the confidence to say such things with such assurance.
Really cheeky.
After replying to the ssage, Bo Yan looked up at Xie Cheng, "Considering how poor you appear, I’ll give you a little sweetener. Although you ssed up this job, I still want to give you a chance, how about I send you a red packet?"
Xie Cheng, sensing the tone was off, didn’t want to say anything more. His phone pinged, and he checked it to find Bo Yan’s red packet notification.
