Beneath the noise of the race, Luca’s attention was halved into the system’s Administrative Layer, where speed was no longer asured in units, but in logic. Rows, columns, and tags unfolded endlessly like a beehive’s lattice, while important paraters hovered, waiting to be inspected and adjusted.
Luca always admired the systematic gearwork whenever he opened the layer, because despite its complexity, he found zero difficulty in scanning and understanding. Why wouldn’t he, when his mind was basically a cursor, and he could roam as much as he wanted?
To prevent preoccupation, teletry streams still flowed as part of the data. Using the input updating in real-ti, Luca didn’t have to trouble switching system panels to focus on the race.
[Elent Selected: Sync Bar & Buff]
[Descriptions: Sync Bar is a real-ti convergence with the machine, fills increntally through in-race acquisition, and upon reaching 100%, triggers Sync Buff use. Sync Buff is a temporary surge of a fixed duration, in which all chosen skills are elevated to (50), adrenaline amplified, and focus stabilized.]
[Editable Paraters:
—Accumulation thod
—Gain Rate
—Capacity Threshold
—Trigger Condition
—Buff Effect Ceiling
—Buff Duration
—Behaviour ]
After reading through the paraters and editable clauses, Luca was left far less certain than when he ca into the Administrative Layer.
The confidence that brought him withered as clarity refused to follow at this point. Each variable was like a pillar that contributed to the singular fra of Sync Bar & Buff. The more nurous, the bigger the consequence if Edited wrongly, Luca could tell.
’System, is there a way I can just bypass granular edits, and submit a full override with what I have in mind?’ he asked.
Luca wondered if he could impose an entirely new fra for the Sync Buff instead of adjusting paraters one by one. Rewriting, not tweaking, would reduce error, preserve his montum, and give him exactly what he had in mind.
[Yes, but the action will cost more Tokens. Furthermore, the new input must still remain within the bounds of plausible paraters.]
’Fine by !’ Luca concluded.
A mont later, he focused deeply until he lodged his plans into the Administrative Layer. Once he finalized the input, Luca scanned the panels and was very glad to see no red signals.
[Successful Override]
[Are you sure you want to proceed with this Administrative Edit?]
[Cost: 11.2 Tokens]
No panic. Luca knew he had 12.0 T in his Inventory, so he confird the changes.
[Changes Confird!]
Now he had a completely different Sync Buff fra—if he could call it that anymore!
[Elent: Sync Multiplier]
[Description: Multiplies gained XP progressively as the Sync Bar fills. Each skill point gained increases the Sync Bar linearly while the subsequent skill’s performance benefit is multiplied, starting at ×1 and doubling.]
After reading the description, Luca couldn’t be prouder. It looked complicated, but as the creator, every nuance made perfect sense to him.
He couldn’t wait to see how great these changes would be, and how far they could take him.
No more Sync Buff for him. Never again. That felt saddening, but truthfully, this new Sync Multiplier was far better for his long-term career excellence than the canon Sync Buff.
He still had the Sync Bar with him, but it no longer existed as a simple gauge. This ti it served as a potent grade multiplier. Every 12.5% gained per skill point(s), now amplified the next, stacking progressively.
For instance, at 75% Sync Bar, the next skill point attained wouldn’t be ( 1), but around ( 20)! An unbelievable leap for a skill that would utterly take it past the (40) threshold Luca had set earlier!
This ant that leveling up his Resonance would beco almost effortless. Every skill point he gained now compounded, accelerating his growth far beyond the old system. A lot of things once painstakingly slow could now be achieved in a fraction of ti, unlocking additional tiers of ability!
In just a handful of races, this driver would’ve honed mastery a hundredfold.
Back on track, Luca focused on getting another incrent into his 87.5% Sync Bar to see his new changes for himself.
Chasing after Di Renzo, the Mazerunner perpetually used , pushing the Z24 to hug every aerodynamic advantage just to shrink the gap, no matter how small.
It was tight, the effort imnse, Di Renzo two and a half seconds away. But at least, Luca was eventually rewarded with a notification.

[SYNC BAR COMPLETE]
[Sync Multiplication finished!]
[Ding!]
[You have completed skill: 40 ( 15)]
[Ding!]
[You have unlocked new skill:
—BioCool: 2]
[You have received:
–5.8 Tokens]
[Ding!]
[Congratulations! You have leveled up a Resonance.]
[Racing Harmony —> Racer’s Ascendancy]
The cascade of these notifications ca so suddenly like a torrent, so rewards and so affirmation. Luca couldn’t believe his eyes. From the surge of to unlocking a new skill and leveling up his Resonance so quickly, he felt overwheld yet satisfied.
’If I can complete Sync Bar every race... I’ll turn into a monster,’ he noted. ’New Self Skill and a Level three Resonance. Can’t complain!’
[BioCool: A skill that regulates the host’s body temperature under extre heat, reducing fatigue and maintaining peak physical and cognitive performance.]
Luca couldn’t believe it had taken this long to get a cooling skill. Now he had one, he was very grateful. For races like this, a skill like was survival, not only convenience.
In fact, Luca didn’t hesitate to invest 2 Wrenches into the skill while under the Shanghai heat. He was fully aware he had already completed his Sync Bar, but he couldn’t risk heat fatigue in these closing laps.
[Applying 2 Wrenches...]
[BioCool: 2 —--> 8]
Now that he had himself together, had Edited successfully, and erged as an empowered version of himself, Luca found himself just a second behind a car he once drove: the silver JRX-97.
[Analyzing Ferrari (Scuderia Z24) and host’s distance from 4th Position]
[You are 1 seconds away, host.]
This was the 50th Lap, six laps to the chequered flag. Luca felt the reality of the circuit hit him hard as he regained his full focus behind his ex-teammate.
"....LUIGI TAKES THE LEAD AT THE APEX...!"
"WOOOOOOOOOHHHH!" the crowd roared in reply.
**Five laps to the finish line, big guy. We are holding strong**
The live feed displayed Luca’s Ferrari two seconds ahead of Dreyer’s Red Bull. That was a comfortable gap to assure a calm, uncontested finish.
However, Luca wasn’t interested in settling in P5 as Trampos seed to already accept.
He had a Lv. 3 Resonance, and he wanted to see how efficient it could be, taking him to the top!
