I don’t resemble anyone?

Sumr Sutton replied icily, "It’s better that I don’t. I have no desire to be like you and abandon my wife and daughter, nor do I want to be like my mother and waste away from depression over a love that wasn’t worth it. I didn’t co here to reminisce. Second Young Master Sutton should have already told you my purpose."

"Your mother was foolish back then, handing her shares over to an outsider to manage." Kenneth Sutton coughed and wheezed several tis before frowning with a sigh. "You are a legitimate daughter of the Sutton Family. The family will naturally help you get those shares back. But as for that managent agreent from back then... we aren’t clear on the specific details..."

"I haven’t seen the agreent. The Ninth Master has it."

Kenneth Sutton’s expression was wan and weary. "Your second brother is already contacting the legal team that drafted the agreent back then. I imagine we’ll have a result soon. Oh, Sumr, your father is so pleased that you chose to co back. I’ll be drafting my will in the next couple of days to divide the shares I hold among you children. When the ti cos, you’ll need to make a trip to sign the share transfer agreent..."

Sumr Sutton said nothing.

Perhaps because he hadn’t seen her in so long, Kenneth Sutton was quite talkative. He rambled on about the past for a good half-hour before he finally seed to run out of steam. He waved a hand, signaling for Second Young Master Sutton to lead her out.

Second Young Master Sutton escorted her to the elevator, his voice calm. "Little sister Sumr, Father will be giving you two percent of his shares. It’s not much, but it’s a show of good faith. Don’t forget to co sign the agreent in a couple of days."

Sumr Sutton asked softly, "How much longer does he have?"

"A month at most." Second Young Master Sutton shrugged. "So, Wyatt Sutton and I will probably be fighting pretty fiercely soon. If he cos looking for you, little sister, don’t let so small favor turn your head and betray your second brother’s sincerity."

"I can make my own judgnts. I don’t need you to tell what to do." Sumr Sutton asked casually, "What... what illness does he have?"

"Over a dozen underlying conditions, plus problems with his liver and blood. He’s held on for a year, but he can’t anymore." Second Young Master Sutton paused. "Want to see his dical records?"

"Why would I look at his dical records?"

"So you don’t suspect I’m setting this all up just for the shares in your hands." Second Young Master Sutton smiled slightly and gave a quiet order to the assistant waiting by the door. The assistant quickly retrieved Kenneth Sutton’s dical file from the records room and presented it to Sumr Sutton.

Sumr Sutton picked it up and flipped through it casually for a few minutes before putting it back down.

"I’m leaving." The elevator doors opened. Her attitude was cold as she left without a backward glance.

The elevator doors closed.

The faint smile on Second Young Master Sutton’s face slowly faded, his expression turning inscrutable.

The Sutton Family’s old residence.

In a gloomy, cold courtyard, the Sutton Family’s eldest young master, Wyatt Sutton, was slowly sipping tea.

"Sumr Sutton just t with the Second Young Master at the hospital. She likely saw the old man as well," an assistant reported in a low voice. "Should I arrange a eting for you with Miss Sutton?"

"Why would I et her?" A frigid look crept over Wyatt Sutton’s sharp features. "She’s the bait Kian Sterling tossed into Port Sovereign. Whoever touches her right now will be courting disaster. My second brother is too impatient. All I need to do is play the part of the patient fisherman."

"I heard the Second Young Master persuaded the old man to help Sumr Sutton get her shares back." The assistant hesitated. "If she really does get her hands on those shares, then in the coming fight for inheritance..."

"It’s better if he succeeds," Wyatt Sutton sneered, his face grim. "Kian Sterling is completely unyielding; that path is a dead end. If my second brother really has the ability to get Sumr Sutton’s shares back..."

He paused. "Winning over Sumr Sutton is a whole lot easier than winning over Kian Sterling."

The assistant murmured his assent.

Wyatt Sutton took another light sip of tea and asked casually, "I hear Kian Sterling’s precious little sister injured our second brother quite badly?"

"It was quite serious, yes. But after Kian Sterling privately intimidated him, the Second Young Master didn’t dare press the issue."

’He knew perfectly well,’ the assistant thought. ’During this crucial period in the Sutton Family’s internal power struggle, no matter how stupid the Second Young Master is, he wouldn’t dare clash with Kian Sterling. The Sutton Family is just a mid-tier prominent family in Port Sovereign; they can’t compare to a super-powerhouse like the Sterlings, who can do as they please in tropia. Confronting Kian Sterling at such a sensitive ti would be a suicidal move.’

Wyatt Sutton wasn’t surprised. An image of the Eldest Miss Sterling, whom he had t at Sterling Manor, surfaced in his mind. ’Beautiful, arrogant, with an alluring bone structure—a truly captivating beauty.’

’Kian Sterling has certainly raised her well.’

At the ti, he had just been struck by her beauty, along with a vague sense of familiarity. Recalling her now, he was suddenly reminded of soone else:

"I rember..."

He thought for a mont, then mused, "The previous Mrs. Sutton was also a famous beauty in Port Sovereign back in the day..."

A phone call ca in, interrupting his train of thought, and he didn’t dwell on it further.

tropia, Sterling Villa.

"Boss, Miss Sutton contacted Second Young Master Sutton as soon as she returned to Port Sovereign. As per your instructions, the bodyguards turned a blind eye." Inside the study, Evan Rhodes was reporting to Kian Sterling. "The Sutton Family has already contacted the original legal team. They might try to pressure you in Miss Sutton’s na in the coming days."

Kian Sterling gave a soft grunt of acknowledgnt, fiddling with a file folder in his hands without speaking.

"The process for this docunt is complete," Evan Rhodes added. "It’s already been filed here in tropia, but since the docunt is related to the Sutton Family of Port Sovereign, we may also need to follow the regulations there..."

"You’ll go to Port Sovereign yourself." Kian Sterling handed him the file. "Find the lawyers from back then to have it notarized. Then, find a way to legally obtain Kenneth Sutton’s DNA and complete the test with the legal team as witnesses."

Evan Rhodes’s back broke out in a sweat. "This is a matter of huge importance..."

"Don’t be afraid. Take bodyguards. If anything happens, I’ll handle it." Kian Sterling paused. "To be on the safe side, have the test done once in Port Sovereign and once in tropia."

"Yes, sir." Evan Rhodes hesitated. "I can figure out a way to get Kenneth Sutton’s DNA, but as for the sample from Miss Sterling..."

Kian Sterling didn’t answer directly, instead gesturing to the exquisite glass tea set. "This is the tribute tea from the mother trees on Morgath that Silas Norwood sent over. Have so with ."

Evan Rhodes murmured his assent, sat down properly across from him, and took the initiative to brew the tea.

The night deepened.

Outside the villa, an audacious, lizard-like vehicle executed a flawless spin and ca to a smooth stop in the ground-floor courtyard.

Light footsteps ascended to the second floor. Kian Sterling, who was drinking tea, felt his gaze soften. He casually picked up a purple cup and poured the tea himself.

The next mont, Celia Sterling pushed the door open and walked in. "Brother, I knew you’d still be awake! I brought you so barbecue from that place you gave a five-star review."

Only after speaking did she notice Evan Rhodes was also there.

"Hello, Assistant Rhodes." She politely greeted him as well before placing the exquisite takeout box in her hands in front of Kian Sterling.

Kian Sterling handed her the purple teacup. "You’re back early today?"

"Mhm, I’m not pulling an all-nighter tonight. I have to et a very important client tomorrow." Celia Sterling drank the tea and glanced at the ti. "Are you and Assistant Rhodes discussing business this late?"

Kian Sterling casually gestured to the file folder in Evan Rhodes’s hands, not hiding anything from her. "We’re handling that docunt Cece signed at Professor Lowell’s grave."

Evan Rhodes’s hand, holding the file, tightened.
