Chapter 778

“Nene! Co quickly! So adventurers arrived, selling tons of at! They’re in the warehouse beside the factory!” A young man told a girl who was around eighteen or nineteen years old.

“What do you an?! Where did the adventurers get the at? Marcus! Wait for ?” The girl said who saw her brother rushing outside after retrieving the family’s hidden funds.

Nene and Marcus were twins. Marcus was currently working as a factory worker who produced cheap clothes and shoes. Nene, to add funds to the family coffers, was taking in so clothes from people for laundry. The clothes and the completed laundry were shipped off to the people who were still staying in the city of Nermador.

The distance of the town from Nermador was just around four hours.

Their parents were working outside the town in the farms, but every ti they went outside, they were risking their lives, and they forbade their children from following them outside the walls.

Just like anybody else in the town, Marcus’s family would prefer to travel far from Andora, deep inside the eastern side of the Rendindura continent, where it was supposed to be safer. The undead were relentless in their attacks on the kingdom of Andora, and every day, people from the town would encounter roaming undead.

The issue with traveling was that there was a miniscule chance of surviving while on the road. The undead were everywhere, and most roaming undead, even the weakest ones like skeletons or zombies, were being led by more powerful undead like vampires, wraiths, or even liches. The wealthiest town folks had already left, guarded by adventurers they hired, but they heard rumors that even most of them perished while traveling.

That ant that they had no choice but to keep staying in town. The only reason the town was still alive was that Nermador sent wizards in shifts to guard the town. The city still needed the services of their town. Still, at was scarce simply because the undead kept targeting animals, even the wild ones, if they could not find any humans to kill.

“Marcus, wait for !” Nene shouted at her brother, who was still running towards the warehouses located near his brother’s factory.

“Faster! Even with their tons of at, if we delay, we will not be able to buy so!” Marcus hurriedly replied to his sister.

Once Nene reached her brother, she kept asking questions.

“Where did the at co from? Are they still alright?”

“I saw the at they’re selling. They’re at from the bison found in the wilderness. Devin, one of the adventurers, told

that they hunted them while traveling from the desert kingdom of Arendora to here. The hunted animals were kept inside a large storage item so they’re still as fresh as the day they were killed.”

“Storage item?! Are they wizards?”

“Their client was supposed to be a Supre Rank wizard who wanted to go to Nermador to fight the undead.”

“Are the adventurers powerful? Why weren’t the gangs taking their things?” Nene asked her brother.

“There are only three of them, Devin, and his parents, but they’re guarded by two ferocious and extrely powerful wolves! I saw the Blood Axe gang trying to rob them, but their two wolves killed most of them. Even their most powerful warrior was killed with just one bite!”

When rcus and Nene arrived, they saw that a lot of people were outside the warehouse that the three adventurers had rented.

“What’s happening? Why are you still outside?” Marcus asked one of the people who was still waiting.

“So wizards arrived wanting to purloin all the at that the adventurers brought, but those wizards were driven off by their wolves. The wizards returned with their leaders, and from what I know, they were now negotiating with the adventurers,” The man replied.

After a while, the door of the warehouse opened and four wizards exited. Two looked to be higher-ranking wizards, followed by two wizards who looked dejected. The wizards were then followed by one of the adventurers, who shouted that they were now selling bison at and the price was still the regular price. The man shouted that they would be selling all the at until the supply lasts.

Everyone started to queue, so Marcus and Nene did the sa. A younger adventurer exited the warehouse and when he saw Marcus, the adventurer called him, so together with Nene, they hurriedly went to the young adventurer.

“Marcus, co with ! No need to queue here. I’ll bring you inside through the door by the side. Who is this?” Devin asked Marcus.

“This is my sister, Nene. Nene, this is Devin, the son of the powerful adventurer couple selling the at. I t him earlier when they were renting the warehouse,” Marcus said, who rolled his eyes when he saw Devin admiring his sister’s beauty with Nene blushing and hiding behind him.

“What happened with those wizards?” Marcus asked while they were heading towards the door by the side of the warehouse.

“Two low-level wizards arrived after our wolves killed so of those Blood Axe gang. When they saw our at, they wanted to take all the at for themselves, but our wolves stopped them. When one of the wizards attacked the wolves with so sort of spell, we were all amazed that the wolves just ignored the spells as if they were throwing cotton balls. It made

laugh so hard. Then one of our wolves jumped at one of the wizards, who held his neck in its mouth. Thankfully, our wolves are so smart that they didn’t kill the wizards, or else we would be knee-deep in trouble. The wizards ran away and returned with two higher-ranking wizards.”

They arrived at the gates by the side of the warehouse, and after they entered, Devin continued.

“Thankfully, the newly arrived wizards were wiser and didn’t imdiately attack but wanted to talk to my father instead. When they learned that the wolves were summoned by a Supre Rank wizard who wanted to go to Nermador to join the fight against the undead and that the at was also a gift from the sa wizard, they thanked us and imdiately left. Before they reached the door, they started scolding the two wizards who attacked our wolves. It was so funny,” Devin said while laughing.

“Those two low-level wizards were so afraid that we would report their actions to the Supre Rank wizard that we guided. What they didn’t know was that Anton had already left, and we have no way of contacting him.”

While Devin was talking to Marcus, his eyes never left Nene, who was blushing beside his brother.

“How powerful were your wolves?” Marcus asked Devin.

“My father said that our wolves are almost as powerful as an archmage-level wizard or warrior,” Devin said, who looked extrely happy that their family received such powerful guardians just by guiding Anton to Nermador.

Marcus looked enviously at Devin and stared at the wolves who were now sitting by the door. They saw Devin’s parents start selling the at, and Devin asked how much at they wanted to purchase.

When Marcus said that they only had funds for three kilos of at, Devin handed them five kilos and did not accept Marcus’s coins, saying it was a gift. Devin said it while looking at Nene. Marcus just smiled, and after receiving the at, they rushed ho to cook so food with the at and wait for their parents to have a little celebration.
