Chapter 761
Anton finally saw the kingdom of Enundia in the distance after flying almost nonstop for three days. He only stopped when it was ti for him to rest at night. Thankfully, he did not need to sleep long and spent most of the night inside his Diablo II system, leveling up his ladder character. His Warlock finally reached the maximum level, so he went back to leveling up his ladder Druid character.
In his third ladder season, Anton already transferred items from the ga in real life. When he reached level 99 for his Sorceress, he transferred from the ga the Shield of Zakarum that he gave to his father. From the Necromancer, he could not think of which item to transfer; he was torn between a Spirit Sword and a second Harlequin Crest, but decided to go with Shako.
Anton was starting to like the warlock character so much that he had decided to collect the best gear he could for the warlock character. When he reached level 99 for the warlock, he transferred the weapon that his warlock was using, which was Arioc’s Needle Hyperion Spear.
Once he transferred the said item from the ga to the real world, Anton discovered sothing amazing. The ability of the warlock to hold a two-handed weapon in one hand, which was shown in the ga as the weapon hovering in front of the character’s right hand, had carried over to him in the real world.
Before, if Anton wanted the power of his weapon to beco active, he would need to hold it in his hand. That ant while fighting, he would need to wield his Death’s Fathom Dinsional Shard in his hand. But the mont he tried to wield Arioc’s Needle, it actually floated just beside his right hand, just like in the ga.
Anton was extrely happy about that because that ant that he did not need to mind his weapon and could use his hand to cast his spells.
Because of that new chanic, Anton decided to keep his Echoing Strike build on his Warlock. He knew, though, that he would still use his Sorceress skills in the real world since he was used to using those spells. When he tried using his Death Fathom’s Dinsional Shard, it did not work. Basically, the floating chanism would only work if it were categorized by his Diablo System as a two-handed weapon. He felt a little bumd about that.
Based on what he could see, he was still an hour away from Enundia. The fact that he could already see so of the city structures, like its walls and so of the taller buildings, when Anton was still far away ant that more than likely, Enundia was probably as huge as Ormunda or New Drennor.
He flew down, summoned a spirit wolf, and used it as a mount. He decided to enter the gates of Enundia on foot since he thought that, just like Ormunda and New Drennor, Enundia probably would not allow wizards to fly inside their kingdom.
When he got nearer the gates, even though it was in the middle of winter, there was a very long line of people wanting to enter the kingdom. Anton obediently lined up with the others, and while he was waiting, he studied the people entering Enundia. He could not actually see anyone’s features since everyone was covered by thick clothing. So were on a mount just like he was, so were on foot, and so were inside carriages and wagons.
Thankfully, the line was moving fast enough that before he knew it, Anton was in front of the guards asking for his reason for coming to their kingdom.
“I’m a confird Supre Rank wizard from Ormunda,” Anton handed his Supre Rank Wizard token and offered no other information.
In Ormunda, if one was a powerful wizard that was confird by Ormunda’s Wizards, one was a first-class citizen and would enjoy a trendous amount of benefits. He did not know if it was the sa in Enundia.
The guards looked startled, but then allowed him to enter their kingdom imdiately. Anton’s supposition was right; he was also being treated as an important person in this kingdom if he declared his rank.
Since it was already very late, he decided to hold off on exploring the kingdom and decided to stay at an inn. He followed the main road, expecting to see an inn or a hotel sooner or later, and after a few minutes of walking, he did see one. The inn was large, around four stories tall, but it was not very high compared to the other buildings in the kingdom. Still, the inn looked serviceable.
Upon entering the establishnt, Anton saw that the first floor was a tavern, and it was noisy. He hoped that the rooms upstairs would have so sort of noise-cancelling feature; otherwise, no one would be able to sleep with all the hullabaloo that was happening on the first floor. There was a group of minstrels making music on a stage, and the people drinking ale were talking loudly to each other. So loud that it was as if they were not having a conversation but were having a shouting match with each other. Still, he liked the vibrancy of the place. The tavern was full of excitent and energy.
Before arriving at Enundia, Anton thought that the northern people would be quiet and shy. Instead, based on what he saw and heard, it was the exact opposite. It was probably because he was imagining the people living in this place as soone who stayed inside their hos, warming themselves in front of their fires, while waiting for spring, which was a ridiculous notion. Thankfully, he had not shared that thought with anyone else.
He saw a huge doorway to the left, and when he checked it out, Anton assud that it was the reception area for those wanting to stay in the rooms upstairs.
A young woman who was reading a book was manning the counter, but she imdiately put down her book when Anton went to her.
“I would like to rent a room for a couple of days,” Anton said to the girl.
“That would be four gold coins, sir,” The girl said.
Anton was a little surprised at how high the price was, but then again, Enundia was a city just like Ormunda. The price was the sa as any of the high-priced establishnts one could find in Ormunda or New Drennor. He did not know why he was expecting the price to be lower here. He did imagine that Enundia would be a bit of a savage kingdom due to where it was located, and if he was being honest, Anton was a little disappointed that the northern kingdom was a little similar to Ormunda and New Drennor. Still, he would need to confirm it the next day once he starts exploring the kingdom.
The girl introduced herself as Olgana, so Anton reciprocated and told her his na. The girl then handed him a key and led him to his room, which was on the third floor.
Anton was delightfully surprised that the room was large and it had its own fireplace. Olgana imdiately worked the fireplace, and soon a fire was slowly heating the room. The girl then asked if he wanted to bathe. There was a bathing place in the basent, and the water would be heated. He only needed to pay a few silver coins.
He declined since he did not want to stare at n’s naked bodies there. At least that was what he thought the bath would be. Anton planned to use his Cleaning spell to clean himself, then the next day, he would start exploring the city early.
