Chapter 624
Anton wondered why Cedon cared too much about those nepo babies. The young supre wizard was a very powerful mage that people should have been catering to, and not the other way around. The only thing he could think of why Cedon was doing such things was that the young supre wizard wanted sothing from the parents of those civilian nepo babies.
It was all fine and dandy, since Anton truly did not care about such silly things, but it was a ti of war against the undead, and if ndoza lost, the kingdom would fall to the undead monsters. The people should have been focused on what they needed to do to fight off the Undead Coalition, not cater to politicians, even if the said politicians had powerful parents.
Anton shrugged inside his mind. If the people of ndoza did not care, why should he? If the kingdom fell, then he would just run to the next kingdom that the Undead Coalition would attack and do his best to defend it, be it New Drennor or Ormunda. Hopefully, by that ti, the most powerful wizards of the Gale Continent would realize that being passive would lead nowhere and would fight it out with the undead even if the environnt gets destroyed, as long as the people survived. Again, this was a world of magic that could do the impossible, like fix the lands even if it gets destroyed.
When Anton saw the undead horde coming in, he stopped thinking about silly things and concentrated on casting his spells towards the enemy. The first thing he did was summon all of his summons, and as usual, commanded them to defend the defenders beneath the wall to the best of their abilities. Because of the array, his summons’ powers increased a lot, so they could give considerable help to the warriors of ndoza. Thanks to that, Anton did not know, but the warriors beneath the wall had mad respect for the wizard who summoned the “immortal” warriors to help them.
Looking at the huge undead army that ca in, which was the sa as the previous nights that Anton had been defending ndoza, when they reached the range of his spells, Anton bombarded them with curses from the Necromancer skill tree, followed by the powerful fire, ice, and lightning spells from the Sorceress skill tree.
Anton had hoped that his system could sohow tie his leveling up to killing the undead horde. Still, he guessed that it might not be possible, since, unlike the dungeon, which was inside a closed loop system created by this world, the undead horde was an actual army created by the coalition. That was his theory anyway, since he truly did not know how his Diablo II system worked.
At around five in the morning, the undead horde retreated, and Anton imdiately went to his apartnt after giving a tablet of dire wolf summoning to Cedon. Once he was in his apartnt, he imdiately used a Town Portal Scroll and returned ho to the Rose Manor. The mont he arrived, Anton imdiately cast the Blizzard spell that was converted into Mana Rain towards the garden and the fruit orchard. He wanted to make sure that both fields would remain magical, and at the sa ti, it was also a signal to everyone in the manor that he was back.
As expected, after a few minutes, Anton heard a knock on his door, and when he said to enter, Mr. Jenkins ca in with breakfast. He was also a little surprised that his father ca with the butler.
“Father, you’re back!” Anton stated the obvious.
The butler laid down the food on the balcony table, and Anders joined him for breakfast after Raymond left.
“We returned ho last night. We had to use your Base Portal scroll since half of our team almost died. Thankfully, your healing potions allowed them to survive,” Anders said gravely while munching on a toast.
Anton was a little shocked.
“What happened?”
“Because of the legendary weapon that you gave , we powered up quickly, and I had decided to switch to the Corridors of Amuneta, the high-level dungeon that you’re delving into when you’re here. We were successful in conquering the first to the fifth floor and had decided to jump to the tenth floor, thinking that we could handle the monster there as well, but we were so wrong. The first group of monsters that we encountered laid down half of us before we killed the monsters, and there were only five of the monsters. After that, I was afraid that more monsters would sohow arrive, so I imdiately used the portal scroll that you gave , and once we arrived here in the manor, I imdiately gave the healing potions to the wounded, which saved their lives.”
“Were the minor healing potions enough for their wounds?”
“I do rember you calling them 'minor' healing potions, so I was afraid they wouldn’t be enough, so I had Mr. Jenkins call on a high-level healer, but your potions were impressive, and I don’t understand why you’re calling them 'minor' healing potions. The most wounded amongst my n only needed to drink three of them, and they’re good to go. I still have hundreds of those potions!”
Anton was relieved that his father was not wounded because of the mistake that Anders had made. He imdiately gave all of the Town Portal scrolls that he had collected.
“Father, rember that you don’t need to wait for the enemy to be dead for you to summon the portal. If you’re truly in danger, just rip the scroll, and the portal will appear imdiately, and you can return ho together with your n. The monsters would not be able to enter the portal. Once you’re back here at the minor, if you don’t want to return to that place, you can close the portal imdiately.”
“I didn’t know that I didn’t need to kill the monsters. I had to use all my skills to kill them, thinking that we could only return ho once the monsters were dead. Thankfully, there were only five of them, but as you know, a group of monsters usually consisted of more than five, so when I saw that there were none in the vicinity, I used the scroll imdiately. If I had known that I could use it even if we’re still in combat, I could have summoned that portal and commanded my n to enter while I fought with the monster, and once all of my n were gone, I could have jumped through the portal imdiately. Guess, that’s what I’ll do next ti.”
“What’s your next step then?” Anton asked his father.
“We will rest for a couple of days, then we’ll go back to the fifth floor and conquer it again. Once we can do so easily, then we will just go to the next floor. We’re not going to jump several floors anymore. I’ve learned my lessons.”
“Have you inford the guild that you and your team survived?”
“Oh! Do I need to do that?”
Anton looked at his father wryly and nodded. Anders looked embarrassed and called Raymond imdiately. He then asked the butler to send a ssage to the guild that they had survived and returned ho imdiately to recuperate once they left the dungeon.
After that, Anders left to have a eting with his n, and Anton stayed in his bedroom to rest.
