Anton and his family enjoyed watching the new television show even though they were only on the second episode. His father comnted that each episode had the feel of a movie so it felt like they were watching a series of films instead of a television show. He agreed with his father but then while browsing the internet, he saw that one of his most favorite book series which was the Wheel of Ti by Robert Jordan and Brian Sanderson was made into a television show.
He had two minds about it. Ga of Thrones was fine since, just like The Lord of The Rings, he hadn’t read the books, but The Wheel of Ti was different. It was the only series of books that he actually saved money to buy.
The first book, which was The Eye of The World, was found by him accidentally since soone left it on one of the tables in the library one night and when he saw that it was the first book of a fantasy series, he started reading it and it was divine. It had all the things that Anton needed in a fantasy series. A group of young people pushed into a grand adventure in a world full of magic and monsters.
Because of how much he loved the book, Anton heavily doubted that the new television series would be able to live up to the books. Much like the Harry Potter films. Even though they were supposed to be good, he doubted that they truly copied the essence of what made the world created by J.K. Rowling truly magical. How could a two-hour film capture the details of the day-to-day adventures of the students of Hogwarts?
The new week arrived, and Anton attended his magic classes, excited at the knowledge that he was learning from his teachers. He had recomnded to the others that they take the sa classes during the next sester since knowing the basics would be a good foundation for them.
Anna argued that since she was still young, she planned to attend a magic academy once they reached the new city, and the basics of magic would be covered there. In the anti, it was much more important for her and the others to learn much more practical things like the intricacies a magic combat. Not only that, but every mage in the family thought that because of what was happening in the world, it would be more important for them to increase their power by increasing their wizardly rank so they could cast more powerful spells.
Lunch with his classmates was a eting about which movies they would cosplay at, but to be honest, all the decisions would lie on Fiona and Minerva, and the two girls were still undecided on which film they would choose. They already had a written list of characters, but their problem was the research that they were doing. They were actually spying on others so they wouldn’t have the sa costu with them, but the main problem was, there were still limited number of movies that were shown in the Alia and that ant that similarities with others were inevitable.
After lunch, Anton returned to the suite and started leveling up his Amazon. He did spend a couple of hours first practicing so of his characters’ spells since he could not neglect mastering them. Learning the minute intricacies of his spells was the basis on how he could manipulate the mana to change the spell or to combine them with other spells.
He was fairly successful in changing so of the spells, like changing the Blizzard Spell into a mana-infused rain, but Anton had not tried to truly combine his spells yet. He had delayed the experintation until he reached the maximum level on all of his characters, and soon he would complete that goal.
Anton stopped an hour before dinner and was glad to level up his Amazon to level fifty-two. Ever since the option of increasing the difficulty was given to him by his Diablo II system, he had always chosen to enter the ga in three tis difficulty rating but even with that, he was still extrely slow. Anton was still following his decision of taking it slow so he could master the spell casting process. It wasn’t the grind to a higher level that was the most important but knowing how everything worked.
During dinner, Anton beca aware that his father wasn’t doing anything more important since the cinema was stable.
“Father, since you have nothing else to do and the cinema is running smoothly, why don’t you beco a mage? With the ability to cast spells, you will have the power to protect yourself and your loved ones. Since I can allow up to seven people to be affected by my spell aura, that would allow a mage to morize spells fast, that ans that there’s room for you.”
“I will have to think about it. It’s a huge commitnt, and I don’t know if I want to spend my twilight years learning magic,” Anders said.
In hindsight, Anton’s father was correct. His father had already experienced a lifeti of adventure. When he was younger, he was a rcenary then, when he retired from that, he built himself a family. Anders probably just wanted to enjoy his life earning coins and being sweet with his new paramours.
“I understand, Father. You don’t have to beco a mage. I’ll make sure that
and Anna will have the power to establish ourselves as one of the most powerful families in whatever city we stumble into,” Anton said it with a boasting attitude but with an obvious joking undertone and because of that everyone laugh.
Anton did notice in his father’s expression that Anders did not want to beco a mage and just wanted to remain as a rich businessman, and because of that, he decided to just let his father be.
The next four weeks were mostly normal. The Alia encountered a few storms, which didn’t bother the day-to-day life inside the ship. There were also a few monster attacks, but according to Antonia, the attacks were extraordinarily light.
The ship’s mages theorized that it was because the powerful and intelligent sea monsters were lying low, and it was a worriso reason because it ant that there was sothing in the ocean that they were afraid of, and the only thing that the mages could think of was the Undead Coalition.
Anton wondered if there were scattered undead ships in the ocean. They did encounter three of them but they were near Rendindura when they were attacked and he assud that they wouldn’t encountered anymore attacks from the coalition once they were far enough away from their ho continent but then again, he rembered what they said about people who assud, “It would make an ass out of you and ”.
Because of that, Anton began worrying a little again. He thought he had graduated from that and that it would only happen again in the future, but the worry was growing.
The first sester, which was supposed to last for two months, ended, but the promised study renewal did not occur, and the mages announced that there would be a month-long vacation and the lessons would restart once they left their next stop.
The only thing that Anton could think of was that the most powerful mages on the ship had received a ssage that caused them to change their plans, and he wondered if it was related to the Undead Coalition.
