Briar’s POV

The atmosphere in the room hasn’t cald since Asher refused their demands, and I sense the electric tension coursing beneath my skin, the kind of charged energy that erges when multiple critical choices collide without harmony, so I remain motionless because any movent now would appear like backing down.

Asher maintains his grip on my hand, refusing to release it even when Ruth approaches with her tablet clutched against her chest and her face set with the sharp focus that typically signals an incoming alert.

"They’re cutting specific channels," she murmurs. "Strategic interference. Certain feeds remain untouched while others face disruption."

I acknowledge her words with a slight nod, understanding this aligns perfectly with their earlier tactics today, recognizing how the system consistently attempts to delay truth before attempting complete suppression.

Asher adjusts his position next to , and I sense the change before he vocalizes it, detecting the subtle shift in his stance that indicates he’s reached a conclusion and is rely waiting for the appropriate mont to reveal it.

"I need to make a statent," he declares.

I rotate toward him completely, studying his features intently, because I recognize that particular tone and understand the price he pays when deploying it.

"Through what platform," I inquire.

"All of them," he responds, his voice containing no uncertainty, just unwavering determination that settles throughout the space like a physical force.

Ruth’s gaze moves between us rapidly. "Asher," she begins before halting, aware that once he reaches this ntal state, cautionary words won’t alter his resolve.

"They already attempted to manipulate ," he continues, maintaining eye contact with rather than addressing the room. "Remaining silent now guarantees they’ll repeat their actions, except the next attempt won’t involve subtlety."

My inner wolf presses forward beneath my ribcage, not with alarm but with focused attention, recognizing the transition from defensive positioning to active declaration, and I squeeze his hand once, not to deter him but to provide stability.

"They’ll target you directly," I state quietly.

"I understand," he answers. "They’re already mobilizing."

Ruth releases a asured breath before straightening her posture. "If we’re proceeding, we execute this properly."

Asher confirms with a single nod. "Broadcasting live."

That solitary word transforms the room’s entire energy.

Ruth imdiately springs into action, redirecting feeds and activating channels that have remained on standby since the initial information release, and within monts the wall display transforms as interfaces stack upon each other while reach calculations and security evaluations scroll past too rapidly for comprehension.

Asher advances slightly, positioning himself completely within the cara’s range, and I realize with crystalline understanding that this marks the first occasion today he’s selected visibility over staying close to .

"Before you begin," I interject, needing him to absorb this ssage clearly. "You owe them nothing."

He glances back at , his expression softening montarily. "I understand."

"And you’re not required to shoulder this burden," I continue.

"I’m not bearing it for their benefit," he responds. "I’m sharing it with you."

The transmission activates.

Asher chooses not to sit.

He positions himself exactly as he does whenever situations beco critical, shoulders at ease, spine erect, hands relaxed beside him, and when he begins speaking his voice remains composed and asured, compelling attention before listeners understand their reasoning.

"I’m Asher," he states. "I maintain a senior operational position, and until this morning I planned to keep that role distinct from current public developnts."

He allows sufficient silence for the pause to register.

"That distinction no longer exists," he proceeds. "Not due to controversy, but because of external pressure."

I sense the space behind the cara growing still, personnel freezing in position, every instinct recognizing that sothing permanent is occurring.

"This morning," Asher continues, "senior leadership privately requested that I create distance from Briar and release a statent characterizing her actions as unauthorized and destabilizing."

The response proves imdiate, though I cannot yet hear it, a sharp surge on the sentint analysis flashing red and white as his words slice through their constructed narrative.

"They presented it as protection," he maintains without flinching. "They claid public confidence demanded unity, and suggested consequences if I declined."

He addresses the cara directly now, and I know this represents the mont they’ll attempt interruption, yet the feed continues.

"I refused," he declares.

The statent hits with substantial impact.

"I’m speaking now because remaining quiet would render complicit in a strategy prioritizing damage control over responsibility, and I refuse to permit stability concerns being weaponized against truth."

Questions start flooding the system, but Asher maintains his pace, understanding the opportunity window is limited and interference approaches.

"I want absolute clarity," he continues. "Briar neither coordinated these file releases nor instructed anyone to publicize information, and suggesting she’s unstable for providing testimony is both false and harmful."

The feed holds steady as more questions pour in, but Asher has established his rhythm and won’t be derailed by external pressure attempting to silence his defense of truth.
