Dawn’s POV

"Wow. I never imagined anyone would need to rescue Elena. She strikes as incredibly strong." I admitted to Miller.

"She absolutely is. But things were different back then," Miller replied, his tone growing more serious.

"I’d love to hear that story soday," I said, curiosity getting the better of .

"That’s probably sothing your mother should share with you when she’s ready. But for now, let’s get you settled. Your room is prepared on the top floor. You’ll be right next to the twins, though don’t worry about the noise. The rooms are completely soundproof, so when those little troublemakers decide to raise hell at night, you won’t hear a thing."

My heart fluttered with nervous excitent. "Are they here right now? The children?"

"Not at the mont. Their nanny took them into town for so errands. They should be back soon enough," Miller explained.

Caleb gestured for Asher and to follow him upstairs. When he pushed open the door to what would be my bedroom, I felt my breath catch in my throat.

The space was enormous. A massive king-size bed dominated the center of the room, while a walk-in closet stretched along one wall. My eyes landed on the ensuite bathroom, and my chest tightened with emotion. I’d never had my own bathroom before. Never had privacy like this.

A flat-screen television hung on the opposite wall, and there was even a working fireplace with a comfortable reading chair nearby. A wooden desk sat positioned near the window, perfect for writing or studying. Everything felt like a dream I might wake up from at any mont.

I moved toward the window, pressing my palms against the cool glass. The view was breathtaking. I could see the entire pack territory spreading out below us, wolves moving about their daily routines like tiny figures in a living painting.

When I turned around, Asher was standing perfectly still, just watching with an expression I couldn’t quite read.

"What is it?" I asked, suddenly self-conscious.

"Nothing serious. It’s just refreshing to see you actually look happy for once," he said softly.

"This place is absolutely incredible. Is this really going to be my room?" I asked, still struggling to believe any of this was real.

"Well, our room, if you’ll let stay here with you," he said, vulnerability creeping into his voice.

My heart ward. "I’d love nothing more than for you to stay. But are you sure Elena and Damien won’t have a problem with that arrangent?"

"Trust , we’re mates. They completely understand and support it," he assured with confidence.

"Alright then. Do you think they’re safe out there?" I asked, worry creeping back into my voice.

"Listen to . If anyone in this world can handle themselves in a dangerous situation, it’s those two. They’re stronger than you know," he said firmly, and I nodded, trying to absorb his confidence.

A gentle knock interrupted our conversation. Asher opened the door to reveal a middle-aged woman with kind eyes and flour-dusted hands.

"Hello there, Dawn. Word traveled fast about your arrival today. I’m the head cook for the packhouse kitchen. If you have any particular foods you enjoy or dietary preferences, please don’t hesitate to let know. I’ll make sure to incorporate them into our regular al planning," she offered warmly.

"Oh. That’s very thoughtful. Honestly, I’m not sure I even have a favorite food," I admitted, feeling sowhat embarrassed.

"She’s been surviving on military rations her entire life. I think she’ll need to actually taste real food before she discovers her preferences," Asher explained, covering for my awkwardness.

"That makes perfect sense. As you try different dishes, just ntion anything that appeals to you, and I’ll add it to our permanent rotation," she said with genuine enthusiasm.

"You really don’t need to go to such trouble for ," I protested quietly.

The cook exchanged a aningful look with Asher, and he stepped forward.

"You’re the Alpha and Luna’s daughter, Dawn. This isn’t trouble for anyone. Taking care of you is exactly what they’re here for," Asher explained patiently.

"Okay. Well, thank you very much," I managed to say.

After she left, I wandered into the bathroom, running my fingers along the marble countertops. The shower was large enough for three people, with multiple showerheads and built-in seating. The towels hanging on the warming rack were impossibly soft, softer than anything I’d ever felt before. I couldn’t stop myself from stroking the fabric repeatedly.

When I returned to the bedroom, I noticed the walk-in closet was completely filled with clothing. Dresses, jeans, sweaters, shoes, everything imaginable in what appeared to be my exact size.

"Whose clothes are these?" I asked, confused.

"They’re yours," Asher said matter-of-factly.

"What?" I asked, completely shocked.

"You didn’t seriously think people were going to let you wear those military fatigues forever, did you? You’re a civilian now. Well, sort of," he said with amusent.

"This is all way too much," I whispered, feeling overwheld by the generosity.

Asher chuckled softly and crossed the room to wrap his arms around , pulling against his chest.

"I know it feels overwhelming right now. But you’ll adjust to it gradually. This is where you were always ant to be, Dawn. This is your real ho," he said gently.

I looked up into his eyes and kissed him, feeling safe and loved for the first ti in my life.
