Rezen’s breakthrough was achieved by using resources rather than talent. After all, not everyone has his farm that can grow Spirit Plants with almost no impurities.
If others taking one Spirit Plant earned them a hundred points of impurities, even if Rezen were to consu a hundred Spirit Plants, he might not even gain a single point of impurity.

This person was none other than Treen, the Headmaster Tryst’s one and only lover.
As for the reason why Rezen’s expression fell, it was because of the miraculous transformation this friend of his had undergone throughout the years.
In the past, Rezen was far ahead of Treen when it ca to cultivation rank, but this lazy bastard actually grew faster than him.
Currently, Treen was actually in the second cycle of the Senior Rank!
A second-cycle Senior Mage! Rezen never expected that Treen would not only beco a Senior Mage but he would reach that stage faster than him.
Not only that, but Tree,n from a Spirit Mage transitioned into a Deviant Mage, or rather a ’true mage’.
In truth, due to the lack of talent of most humans and the need for strong mages, Spirit and Body Mages erged out of necessity.
Since untalented mages find it hard to walk the path of a Deviant or true mage, where the body and soul are both elevated, the Spirit Mages and Body Mages erged.
They focused on either just the soul or the body. While this made reaching Senior Mage almost impossible, and they basically have no hope of reaching the Great Mage Rank, at the very least, it still does increase their strength and enable them to reach a higher level.
If three years ago, soone had said to Rezen that Treen would beco a Senior Mage faster than him while still having a steady foundation, he would simply laugh.
But now, it seems like it was actually Rezen that was laughable.
He didn’t know what happened, but after he and Treen first t Elder Priss, Treen’s talent suddenly blossod. He beca a mage even more talented than Rezen.
When Rezen asked whether the Headmaster or even Elder Priss gave sothing to him that increased his talent greatly, the answer he received made him want to punch Treen in the guts.
Treen actually said that he didn’t cultivate much, but whenever he was doing the ’deed’ with the Headmaster from then on, his cultivation would skyrocket.
Reaching the Senior Mage Rank that Rezen had to pour blood and sweat by the ans of sex? Who would believe that!
At the very least, Rezen doesn’t believe it, but he doesn’t think that Treen would lie to him. It was highly probable that the Headmaster and Elder Priss were doing sothing behind the scenes.
Rezen has never forgotten Ivy’s words to him about Elder Priss and Treen.
"Thank you, but you are better than . You beca a Senior Mage faster" Rezen said with a hint of bitterness, but Treen simply shook his head.
"No! It’s different! I don’t even know how my cultivation progresses. All I know is that whenever I had sex, my cultivation would increase."

Sotis, Treen’s simplemindedness can really hurt people’s souls.

Since Rezen cannot exactly say that they are simply ghost berries that he modified, he just let them be, and his modified ghost berries beca corrupted skulls.
With the consumption of humanity, Rezen has to constantly plant the berries. They grew fast thanks to his farm, but human consumption was also fast.
As of the mont, Rezen can barely break even from the growth rate and consumption. If he doesn’t want to be busted and beco suddenly unable to provide the corrupted skulls despite being given mana stones, he cannot rest
He must beco a diligent farr and constantly farm the corrupted skulls.
"Co on, you’re always busy! For the past three years, I almost never seen you. Even our classmates from the academy have only t you a few tis these years. Let’s have a get-together, and I actually need help."
Hearing the ntion of help, Rezen’s ears perked up before he composed himself. This friend of his, to say kindly is pure, to say frankly is quite dumb.
Rezen is 99% sure that the help Treen needs isn’t exactly for an important thing.
"You can say it now, and I will see what I can do to help."
Despite doubting that it was anything important, as a friend, it was still Rezen’s duty to at least hear it out.
In any case, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Since Treen is simple, the things he needs help with are not complex either.
When he asks for help, it is typically not hard to accomplish, but it was rather weird.
"Don’t be like that, let’s just have a simple dinner with Porenz and Theon. It won’t take a long ti!"
In Rezen’s batch, there are actually only four of them that survived. Most of their batchmates died when the scarlet portal appeared, and back then, only five survived.
But after Rezen sched to have Quard killed, now, only four of them remained, and they grew closer, especially since Porenz was straightforward and righteous, while Theon was easygoing and decisive.
Since the four of them are not bad apples, they naturally beca rather harmonious. It’s just that, due to being one of humanity’s hope, Rezen has beco busy either in cultivation or by farming.
