Chapter 36: 036 Correct Opening thod

At the dinner table, Liu Kun ate a little and then left, leaving Chen Xu and the other young people.

However, everyone still felt a bit restrained because Luo Xiyun was still there.

Although she was younger than most of those present, she held the highest position and was known for being difficult to get along with. Everyone was rather cautious around her since they weren’t well-acquainted.

Chen Xu hardly spoke, burying himself in his food. He rarely visited such high-end restaurants, and since he hadn’t tried many dishes, his attention was entirely on the food.

The al concluded in sowhat of a stifling atmosphere.

As they left the restaurant, everyone was about to go their separate ways. Those who had cars went back to the office to retrieve them, while the rest considered taking taxis, the subway, or a bus.

...

“Robbery!”

Suddenly, a woman’s scream echoed from across the street, and those who were just dispersing all turned to look in the direction of the sound.

A man in a black top was sprinting across the opposite road, with a woman in a dress chasing after him and shouting.

Many passersby were drawn by the woman’s screams and stopped to watch the commotion. However, not a single person stepped in to help. Instead, a few had already taken out their phones and were recording.

Suddenly, the man in black jumped over the barrier and started crossing the road.

“Soone help …”

The woman in the dress, seeing she was about to lose the chase, stood in front of the barrier, nearly in tears with anxiety.

Standing at the restaurant entrance, Chen Xu witnessed this scene and it stirred a not-so-pleasant mory.

In his first year of college, with money he had earned from a sumr job, he bought a phone worth over three thousand; he cherished it deeply back then.

But on his first outing with a few dorm mates, soone snatched it from him right on the street.

He didn’t dare to tell his family and ended up buying a second-hand phone with basic functions to use.

Since then, he detested these muggers greatly.

Seeing the man in black about to cross the street, he suddenly grabbed a bottled drink from a female colleague beside him, saying, “Just borrowing this.”

“What are you doing?” The female colleague watched his actions in amazent, “You’re not thinking of throwing it at him, are you?”

Chen Xu ignored her, aid for a mont, and in an instant, seed to enter a mystical state. The man’s movents appeared to slow down in his eyes.

He even seed able to predict the man’s next move. The image of the man’s posture a few seconds later naturally arose in his mind.

This was the mont.

He seized the best opportunity to strike and threw the bottle without hesitation.

At that mont, the man in black had already reached the barrier. He tucked a woman’s purse under his arm, braced his hands on the barrier, stepped onto the bar, and stood up.

Once he crossed the barrier, there was a turn ahead, and he could escape into any alley.

Just as he was about to leap, he felt sothing hit the back of his knee, and his foot instantly slipped.

Damn.

He lost his balance entirely and fell headfirst. His hands flailed in the air, trying to grab sothing, but it was too late.

With a heavy thud, his head hit the ground.

The onlookers hadn’t expected this developnt, and seeing his miserable state, their eyelids twitched heavily.

The woman whose purse had been snatched had just climbed over the first barrier and seeing this from across the road, was delighted and ran over to retrieve her bag.

“Is this even possible?”

The female colleague, seeing the thief tumble down from the barrier, made an O shape with her mouth and looked at Chen Xu in astonishnt.

Chen Xu held a finger to his lips, signaling her to keep it a secret.

Such thieves and muggers likely had accomplices. It was best to keep a low profile to avoid trouble. Anyway, except for this female colleague, no one else seed to have seen him throw the bottle.

The female colleague nodded quickly, indicating she understood, her eyes a little excited.

After this incident, everyone went their separate ways.

Once on the bus, Chen Xu suddenly thought, what was the na of that female colleague again?

He had t over a dozen new colleagues today and hadn’t rembered any nas.

However, he turned his thoughts away from this and was more interested in that mysterious state he had just experienced. He had thrown so many objects before, but this feeling had never occurred.

“Could this be the ‘precision throwing’ talent’s true potential?”

He felt a rush of excitent in his heart. Experiencing that state, he realized how powerful this talent was. He could anticipate the opponent’s movents, and when he threw the bottle, it was as if the man purposely ran into it. Impressive.

“Was it because the target was dynamic?”

He speculated internally.

Before, he had never really tested it on moving targets.

He couldn’t help but recall that card with the image of a man holding a javelin in a throwing stance. It had already revealed the card’s true purpose.

“Hmm, could it be that this talent is best suited for a javelin thrower?”

He thought for a mont and realized that it didn’t seem feasible. After all, javelin throwers are judged on distance, whereas the key to this talent was precision.

And, most importantly, he wasn’t very interested in becoming a track and field athlete; the training was too exhausting.

As he thought about it, he suddenly felt a deep fatigue, like he had overexerted himself.

He didn’t dare to fall asleep on the bus, so he pushed through until he got ho, didn’t even want to shower, and lay down, falling asleep quickly.

Early the next morning, Chen Xu finally felt recovered.

“This consus too much energy; it’s better to use it less often,” he thought with a bit of lingering fear.

Indeed, powerful skills definitely co with a cost. The main issue was how severe the aftereffects were.

When Chen Xu arrived at the company, his colleagues were already there. It was a new departnt, with a new leader, and everyone wanted to make a good impression, so they all arrived early. He was the only one who, as usual, arrived just on ti.

“Chen Xu.”

As soon as he entered, the female colleague from yesterday waved and greeted him.

“Morning.” He responded politely, sensitively noticing that a few male colleagues nearby had odd looks in their eyes.

Although he used the very generic term “female colleague” to refer to this woman, in actuality, her appearance was quite striking, second only to Luo Xiyun in the entire company.

Since yesterday, a few male colleagues had been gravitating towards her.

Clearly, her initiative to greet him made them see him as a potential rival.

He wanted to say, you’re overthinking it, your competition is Mr. Liu.

In the company, every single woman, upon seeing Mr. Liu, had stars in her eyes—even so who weren’t single.
